First off, what a freaking awesome football game! Down the stretch there I would have been happy with a Miami win or loss- especially when they foot-tackled Drake late in the 4th quarter while the ball was in the air and there was nothing but green grass between him and the end zone. If we would have got the flag there, Drake never would have had that gut-wrenching moment in overtime (since that put us in field goal range with less than a minute left). No worries though, we overcame and I loved that they fed it right back to Drake for the final drive.

For the naysayers here, keep in mind that Chicago has one of the more potent offenses this season and a great defense- they were expected to DOMINATE the LOS. The Bears played it smart focusing on McTyer and it was a really good game all the way around. They're another team that should have beaten us but just couldn't down the stretch.

Why? Kiko forcing yet another crucial red zone turnover. Jones dominating like his usual self. QB's testing Fitzpatrick and getting balls swatted down for their efforts. Fitz did earn a few penalties today but you can't complain about a rookie that's playing at those levels. He's finding his place on this excellent defense....despite still not being whole at D line. And Howard? He was playing berserk in the 4th quarter covering his own person and then swarming to wherever the pass went.

The main reason I wanted to post this today was talking about offense though- we did okay. Granted, most of our points came off little throws to Wilson but that's not really my point...we were able to move the ball fairly well and we schemed a lot different than we would a Tannehill-led offense. For instance, we threw past the sticks almost every time on 3rd down, and we rarely ran it on 2nd and long (we were rarely in 2nd and long though, so that was a difference in itself).

I still don't like Osweiler but he did grow on me a lot today due to overall offensive production. One thing he seems to do pretty well is see the field and react appropriately to pressure. No, he doesn't have Tannehill's cannon and no, he can't launch 60 yard bombs, but many of his throws today hit a receiver in perfect stride and we're not used to seeing that either. I almost want to say that Osweiler is better for this offense for now?!?

I still think we need a new quarterback but Oz showed that we do have the talent to win today.

Overall, great game Dol-fans! Getting Tunsil back was huge and it was great to see Gore loose in the open field. More than anything though, it was awesome seeing that resiliency when everything went wrong in the 3rd yet we clawed right back into the game. I still think this team is special- it just needs a leader on offense and I really hope that person's name is Tannehill or Osweiler. I'm back to thinking that we can beat just about anyone with the right game-plan.

And I have to say it.....how about Parkey choking???? It was poetic justice for Drake getting robbed in the 4th. =) Go Fins!

Nice, Key! All I can say is that even with all the injuries we have had we are 4-2. Hopefully, some of our key guys, like McCain, get healthy. Our 3rd down defense is like a sieve. Obviously, that is something we will try to clean up this week, but I am not sure we can when we are forced to play Tank or McTyer.

Man we'd be 5-1 if we didn't implode vs Cinci.

One of the few seasons we actually have a late bye week and we could use an early one..

If you think about the last 8 quarters, our most dominant were the first two quarters in Cinci. The next most dominant was the first half this week, followed by our 4th quarter today. We really are two dumb passes away from being 5-1.

    Play calling....

No run plays on that last drive to put us in field goal range - particularly after we'd been able to get 3/4/5 yd runs at times. You at least try it once, if not twice.

And the screen passes keep showing up. Every time I see them I mark them as basically a wasted play.
Going into extra time I really didn't have any confidence in the Dolphins sustaining a drive and figured this would be a Bears win on their return trip or following a pick. I would really like to be able to feel differently soon, please!

So far this season the 2018 Dolphins have been a roller-coaster ride of a team - big highs and horrible lows and not a lot of consistency - and that's in terms of both individual games and the season as a whole so far...

Frank Gore - what a monster!

We made some really good veteran additions this year - Wilson, Gore, Amendola and Quinn stand out.

As you said, Key, respect to the offensive line, they didn't dominate but they did hold up and not collapse. Considering the injuries so far, I'll take that for the rest of the season if they can give it.

And yeah, that ankle tackle..... really want to see the replay on that if anyone covers it.

This season is eerily reminiscent of 2016. Play a few games. Have an early season meltdown. Make adjustments, cut players. Go on a roll into the playoffs. We are at the stage compared to that year that we would start our roll right now. Lol. Here's to hoping history repeats itself

Dolphins are 4-2. They played 6 teams. Of those teams, only the Raiders are under .500.

If someone at the beginning of the season told you that the Dolphins would play their first six games of the season against 5 teams that are .500 and better, with 2 to potentially 3 being division leaders, would have you put Miami at 4-2?

IMO, they are doing it with one thing, talent. They have serious speed on offense and ball hawking turnover causing big plays on defense.

My thought on today's game, as a football fan, that was one of the better games I have watched. So much fun. That second half was crazy.

I give my game ball to the entire offensive line. They showed up to play. That was one of the best defensive lines in the league. They stuff the run and stop people from scoring. From the beginning, Miami was able to get in some decent runs.

Frank Gore is ageless. I think he is a daywalker. What a game.

Way to bounce back Drake. Almost had that game winner. Both hands on the ball man.

Put the ball in the hands of Wilson and Grant. Amazing things happen. What a game by Wilson. Though, if I am Gase, I am wondering if they could get a fake to Wilson, and throw it to someone else. I don't know. I would imagine after two long awesome touchdowns that the Bears might be keying on him. There has to be a play that makes it look like Miami is throwing a quick pass, but someone else comes open.

That two point converstion was Brock's best throw of the night. Great job by Stills getting his feet in.

Good game by Brock. Showing he is more than just tall. Though, I am not going to get too excited. He is Brock Oswieller, the only player in the NFL traded to unload salary.

I am starting to see more out of McMillian. He doesn't just look lost out there.

Overall, what a game. I gave up on Miami at least 5 times during that game. Shows what I know.

I was told that he was a horrible fit for the Texans and he didn't get along with the coaching staff at all. As I said in another thread today, he chose to play in Miami because he has an awesome relationship with Gase and believe in him 100%.

I'm not saying Osweiler is something truly special because I've honestly never paid attention to him before.....but he impressed the heck out of me today and Gase believes in him. I almost have the feeling that RT was benched today for multiple reasons (the shoulder being one of them). If Osweiler starts again next week and manages to win, things will get very interesting in that QB room.

I really enjoyed the game. It was a great one and a great result. The win was an unexpected bonus.

Great performances by both offence and defence against a team that was 3-1 going into the game and considering the Bears hadn’t allowed any opponent to rush for 100 yards all season, it was great that Frank was the first to do so.

Two brilliant runs by Albert for TDs and a rock was a revelation at QB. I don’t know, but I would imagine it’s his best-ever NFL game.

The defence played very well too, especially considering it was missing several starters. My favourite was the one by Reshad, though I can’t remember the details.

This result and performance must have given the guys such a boost in confidence after the last two weeks and hopefully, it will serve them well in the upcoming games.

I thought he was fine. The only throw that really impressed me was the 2-pt conversion. The rest was taking what the defense was willing to give up. He did play like a smart veteran. I will give him that.

When I watched him in Texas, he was the pretty not that good quarterback, that he is. He played fine today. He played like a quarterback you want to play like off the bench.

Well, one thing to keep in mind is that the Bears schemed to shut down Tannehill....there was no game-planning for Brock and I'm sure that helped us. With that being said though, we heard all week how the Bears had one of the top defenses and Osweiler did okay. Both defenses were ball-hogs today making huge plays- its why we're both in the lead for turnovers and it was a really fun game to watch.

Honestly, it should have been the featured game of the week- how could any of us have known what was to come though? It was just a great game all the way around and I would have said the same thing if we lost.

I missed the game...good news for some of you. :tongue2::tongue2::tongue2::tongue2: Glad we won, glad Osweiler led us to victory.

From all that I've gathered with highlights and stats, I'd have to say our Oline was the best part of the team today.

I saw the fumble by Drake...damn it son...in his defense, Gore should have gotten the carry. Gase is still a bit ac/dc on his playcalling.

We have to stay with Osweiler as QB. Tannehill has to have played his last down as a Miami Dolphin. If that is the result of this game, this is a GREAT DAY TO BE A MIAMI DOLPHIN.

Brock seemed to have better pocket awareness, that's the only thing I'd say he did better. His second INT was ugly.

The 2nd was the deep Parker throw, wasn't it?

I honestly didn't mind that one because we were about to head in for halftime and it was a low risk/high reward shot. After all, Parker was open....why not swing for the fences? Brock under-threw that pass by 3-5 yards though and Parker made no attempt to come back for the ball. The announcers blamed it more on Parker for being too close to the sideline and not adjusting....it was supposed to be an outside shoulder throw where only Parker could catch it. So it was really on both of them.
