The Giants are done with Ereck Flowers. Flowers, the offensive tackle chosen with the ninth overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, will be cut tomorrow if the Giants can’t trade him first, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Tannehill is HORRIBLE>>>> and don't give me this crap about the O-Line. They are HORRIBLE also.... We are what we thought we are. That’s why we took the damn field. If you want to crown them, then crown their asses. But we are who we thought we were. And we let them off the hook. Does this sound familiar? LOL (the late famous "RIP" Dennis Green)

OK so we don't need linemen right now since 2 are on IR and another may not play because he's concussed?

Adding someone else is the topic. Please don't turn every string into an I hate Tannehill thread. Plenty of those for you to comment on. Do you have an actual comment on picking up Flowers?

    Dude......
Sometimes a change of scenery helps a guy out. Thing is....The Giants have had O Line issues for a while now and Eli has done the best he can possibly do with that mess. I'm not sure that Flowers will help us at all as he seemingly has been part of the problem in New York. I mean....Their O line troubles basically mirror ours. They either have injury issues...or their draft picks aren't getting it done.
With that said, i'm all for adding him if that's what we decide or want to do. I'm going to stand by this team, this coach, this quarterback, everything Miami Dolphin until I die. We certainly need some O line help and at this point i'd be fine with taking on a castaway from another team. Sometimes it works out.

Since 2015 Flowers he gave up 169 total pressures which is the most of any tackle in the NFL during that time. [13] Those stats and his numerous penalties have caused Pro Football Focus to rate him as the 54th best tackle in the NFL.

  6. There has to be someone out there for OL the phins can pick up somehow? Someone decent if this Flowers guy is as bad as they say (too many penalties, gives up too many pressure situations). I'm surprised they cant make a trade if picking up someone is that difficult cause whats out there on other teams PS just suck that bad.
This is needed now, not after the game vs the bears.

People here think Laremy Tunsil is bad. Wait until they see Ereck Flowers play.

Larsen isn’t actually a bad pass blocker, particularly at C. But Flowers has no anchor...this is not who you want. He’s horrible. This will make you wish for Dallas Thomas...at least he gave effort even if he stunk.

I came here to post the same thing- they plan to cut him tomorrow if they can't trade him. There's also a rumor floating today that we're looking to cut ties with Parker...

If they cut him,, then we should try to bring him in. It can't hurt. I wouldnt trade anything for him though. Save parker for another trade. Maybe Flowers coming home to play will light a fire under his ***

I'd pick him up once he is cut, but I wouldn't trade for him. We need bodies for this oline.

Yikes, after seeing some clips of this guy, he might actually be worse than Young, and that's pretty bad. Although alot of his issues seem to come from lack of effort. Maybe Eli kicked his dog or something, because it sure looks like Flowers wanted Eli killed more often than not. Now that he's released, I'd still kick the tires. See if you can get him in and maybe a change of scenery will do him good. Maybe he's a guy who just wasn't cut out for the NY lifestyle. Maybe bringing him closer to home will reignite some passion for the game for him. I assume he wasn't this awful in college or he wouldn't have gone so high in the draft, but I'm not going to bother digging back that deep. Either way, were pretty desperate for help on the OL, so if it's not prohibitive, I'd still bring him in for a look, but I sure wouldn't be counting on starting him.

There's more to the story- it sounds like his attitude was what ultimately did him in. Being late to team meetings, shoving a reporter, bad work ethic at times, etc. His first two games this year were bad though and they immediately benched him....so it could be something he can turn around....or maybe not. It's worth a flyer anyway though.

Remember, Tunsil will only be out a short period of time so we have our two starting tackles. Our need is quality backups.
