Knowing the type of guy Parcells is, I could see him cutting Ricky because he doesn't want "problem children", etc; however, with Ronnie Brown being injured, hopefully he stays. If we sign Julius Jones, Ricky could be gone.

Ronnie's ahead of schedule on his rehab.

Ricky has been done since the end of 2005, and it's time to stop clinging to him. He was an all-time great for a couple of years, but enough. Move on.

If Ronnie isn't ready for the season, then we just have to sign a running back in free agency and rotate him with Chatman (presuming we retain Chatman, who will be a free agent.)

I remember alot of fans saying Ricky was done before he ran all over the opponent in 2005. Why would you think he's done now? Yes, he's older and he's been away from football, but he was older and away from football before.

I don't think he is done yet . . . he is a tremendous athlete, and for the price we are paying him, I would love to bring him back next year . . . he would help provide some insurance so we don't have to rush Ronnie back . . . and Ronnie, Ricky and Lorenzo would be a nice 3 headed monster for teams.

Yeah, he's far from done. In fact. I remember reading some comments from his teammates saying in that week leading up to the (one) game he played in, that he still looked great. Just my own opinion, but if he stays out of trouble, come training camp he'll be on the field here.

I think the Tuna will keep Ricky around unless someone offers a 3rd round pick for him. That will not happen. Ricky is not a trash talker or a bad character guy. He has issues that need to be addressed, but by no means is he a trouble maker.

Ronnie may be ahead of schedule with his injury by walking. But it takes about 2 years to come back to FULL SPEED from his injury. Then he has to have FAITH in his legs...:huh1:

I don't think we have anything to lose by keeping him around.....I don't see him as anything more than our # 3 back at the moment. He still could have some big games and be there when RB needs a rest. Let him work off his contract money that we gave him.

At least Ricky isn't a crackhead like a certain hall of fame LB Parcells once had.

Parcell likes guys that share his passion for football. Ricky will have some convincing to do if he wants to play for the Dolphins next season.

What I meant was Parcells knew what LT was doing,he put
up with it because he played at a HIGH level.
    pun intended.

I'm all for just letting Ricky go. I doubt he has much trade value, if any at all. I'd just let him walk and be some other teams burden. I really don't understand why we hung onto him this long.

All these posters talking about Parcells and how highly he values character make me laugh. Why don't you think he will take Ricky back if he was willing to put up with L.T. all those years?

Why? Ricky is a top-tier running back playing for the veteran minimum.

I hope he does, I'm a "Ricky Lover".

I understand that we have him for two more years, the NFL did not count this year. He is cheap and he is very good. He can run 30 times a game and punish a defense. I've seen in games where in the 4th Qtr, defensive players did not want to have to tackle him. He has knocked many a LB on their butts and he just stiff arms smaller guys like Pac Man Jones.

If he or any other player test for anything then let them suffer.

But he is a football player.

I think Bill will keep RW. The message was clear, this is a talent aquisition business.

We only saw him for a few plays in a mud bog, but he looked good to me. He clearly plays with passion and there is little doubt about his talent.

As long as Ricky is cheap I want him on this team. At the very least whenever something crazy happens with him I can say, "Oh that Ricky..."

I was sorry to see him get hurt so fast. What a freak injury, I don't think the guy stepped on him on purpose. Let Ricky come into camp and earn what ever job he can get. We have nothing to lose and alot to gain. He could really help the team by spelling Ronnie and maybe teaching Ronnie a thing or two about openfield running. If he comes back at a really high level we could have a very potent running attack.

I can't believe people even accept Ricky Williams as a Miami Dolphin.

    It's sad, really.

To me, Rick Williams is a Miami Dolphin and I really hope he stays one. We cannot afford to let him go, he is too good and too cheap.

Is anybody really going to say that they would rather have Samkon Gado (no offense meant but cmon) than a healthy and committed Ricky Williams running the football for the Dolphins? Really? and you think Ricky is stoned...

Why would anyone ever depend on Ricky Williams to remain committed?

Ricky is currently at a very low hit to the salary cap.. with Ronnie coming off his injury seems like a fair insurance policy given that we have Booker too. In round 6 or 7 of the draft maybe we find a diamond in the rough to pick up a few carries as well.
Earlier in the thread it was referenced that Ricky is still under contract with the Fins for two years (due to the injury) rather than one more. If that is the case maybe next year he shows that he still has a couple years left and we can get a 2nd round pick rather than a 6.
A gamble I think someone that is interested in the ponies may take.

Nothing would suprise me with Ricky. I hope he stays and can contribute next year. If Ricky shows up for camp next year and doesn't GET CAUGHT smoking pot then why not give him a shot. Can't Ricky take some Ready Clean or something to pass these tests:confused2:

if this is a talent acquisition business, then ud expect Parcells to bring in guys like Chad Johnson, Patrick Crayton, etc.

i know he said he doesnt want problem children, but some of those problem children can win games...and sadly we dont seem to have anyone right now who can win games for us.

if parcells doesnt like problem children, what do we do with Joey Porter?
