Capela definitely didn't want to take an injury risk. He's still a multimillionaire and will only be 29 when this is done. If he develops further he'll get another big one before he has to worry about the over-38 rule. He can actually sign a third one for four years before he gets there.

Applaud Morey and Capela. Too many players unwilling to hone their craft and improve when they get paid. Good deal for team and player imo

I already see he lost 5 million in incentives.

I think he gets 4 mil out of that 5 mil, and 7 out of the overall 10.

By the way, a rumor of Ryan Anderson for James Johnson and Dion Waiters is gaining steam. Just putting it out there.

Riley clears salary a year early with that for 2020 free agency. More minutes for our young guys. Maybe gets us a better pick. That would be a great trade for y’all too. I’m down.

The reported deal is Anderson and a 1st for TJ. Where do I sign up for that?

The only good out of this is the very late 1st round pick. Both of their contracts run through 2020 so we’re trading one bad contract for one very bad contract and the late 1st. Seems fair I guess and there’s a slim chance we nail that pick. I’m for it.

It’s weird how I’m gonna miss TJ if it happens, but I know it has to happen.

Btw y’all should play basketball gm. It’s an addicting sim game and the website is so basic your boss will never know you’re spending half the day tanking for 1st overall picks.

Miami is overloaded at guard. I actually think Anderson is a good fit. Like you say, the 1st is what makes it worth it, though. Miami actually has a better track record of later picks than they do with early ones, so who knows. At the very least it's another trade chip.

I can't find any reputable source reporting on that. There is no national or local writer that has said anything about it. The website that reported is a blog on Fansided.

Just a gut feeling i think he will be retiring. The money he is seeking is not there from the Heat, the Heat have tried to clear room and rid themselves of contracts to give hin that kobe money. Wade is not thrilled to play for mle.

He may pull a roger clemens and sign midseason, who knows..

I don't think it's about money at this point. He showed that last year, and he just signed a lifetime shoe deal. I think he's weighing whether he wants to play one last year, or move on to his post-basketball endeavors. I'd be inclined to agree that maybe he ends up pulling a Clemens, but I think he might want a cleaner retirement. The only way I could see that happening is if he truly changes his mind. I'm leaning towards thinking he comes back, but I think it's close. I'd be happy either way. A retirement tour would be a lot of fun, and his last game in a Heat uniform will be a hell of an environment. But I'd like to see these younger guys take a bigger role, and if Wade's farewell (not technically his last game, but last memorable one) is that Sixers playoff win, that would be a great lasting memory.

Ariza (33 yrs old; $15 mil) upgraded to Melo (34 yrs old; $2.4 mil)

Moute (32 yrs old; $4 mil) upgraded to Ennis (28 yrs old; $2 mil)

Anderson (30 yrs old; $20 mil) upgraded to Knight (27 yrs old; $15 mil)

Black (27 yrs old; $3.2 mil) upgraded to Chriss (21 yrs old; $3.2 mil)

Aaron Jackson's spot was taken by Michael Carter Williams for vet min. Not sure if that's an upgrade or not.

ESPN gave the Rockets' off-season a grade of D- yesterday. Vegas has us at 55 wins (10 games worse than last year). It should be another fun year of making the 'experts' look stupid. Can't wait.

Not sure if Anderson and Knight is an upgrade or just a wash. Knights had an ACL I believe and some other injuries the last 3 years. But if anyone can boost Knights value for a pump and dump (pump his value up so you can dump his ****ty contract on someone else) it may be MDA. If knight can also allow CP3 and Ariza rest during the regular season, well you may win a few less regular season games, but who cares if you’re a better playoff team?

Still think you need one more piece to beat GSW...
