They'll probably just declare the Patsies as Super Bowl winners right now and cancel the playoffs at this rate.

Congrats to the Patriots on going 16-0. You are now one of only four teams to have an undefeated regular season. Though if you want to become residents of what the 72' Dolphins accomplished, you have to win the Super Bowl. No if and or buts, if you don't get to 19-0, you can not be compared to the 72' Dolphins.

They have to walk away with the trophy to prove it!

    Otherwise it means nothing.

the city only cares about the redsox, the pats are second in new england no matter what they do, most of their fans are fair weather, but we should learn from this ourselves on how not to behave when the phins are back, and also dont take winning seasons and playoff loses as bad years when they happen again

you would only hope in the playoffs, teams see this and take advantage of it. Pats are beatable. you just have to keep on attacking at their weakness and don't get all conservative. Pats have one philosophy and that is to attack and continue to attack until the game is over. wish other teams had that mentality. one thing im impressed about the Pats is the don't waver from their game plan. they do adjust but still go on doing what works throughout the whole game. can't believe I just gave them props but props given where they are deserved or however you say it.

I'm really at a loss for words...this sucks to the point where I don't even know what to say. I would give ANYTHING to see them get their asses handed to them in the playoffs, I don't care who does it.

    It's about time

Let me be one to praise the Patriots for their accomplishment. Personally, I was sick and tired of the Dolphins beating their chests about an accomplishment that was 35-years old. It helped mask the fact that this franchise hadn't even been to a Super Bowl in 23-years. In that period of time, perennial bottom-feeders like the Bucs won a Super Bowl, the Falcons got to a Super Bowl, the Rams went from 4-12 to Super Bowl champs in a single-season, the woefully mismanaged Raiders made it to a Super Bowl, and we've not sniffed even a conference championship game in 15-years! If the record had to fall, I'm glad it was another team in the division that did it, but they still have three more games to equal the 1972 team, so for those hoping to preserve the uniqueness of the 1972 season, there is still hope. But it's highly unlikely anyone will beat this team. Good for them.

I congratulate them but to criticize the Dolphins of '72 because it was 35 years ago is wrong. I hold that close to my Dolphin heart as I watched every game and myself never want to forget it or dismiss it because we have not won a Super Bowl since the '73 season.

    Give it a rest

Their so-called cheating was halted at halftime of the first game of the season against the second-worst team in the league! Are you arguing that the Patriots needed to "cheat" to beat the Jets? The Jets knew the Patriots were videotaping their signals, so unless Mangini was criminally incompetent, he took countermeasures to guarantee no advantage was gained, meaning it's a whole lot of noise about nothing. But let's talk about this cheating. It's not cheating to steal signals, it's perfectly within the rules for a team to steal signals, they just cannot use video to do it. What's the difference between a guy sitting in the stands relaying the signals to the box and him using a video camera? Aside from the prohibition against one and not the other, it is an artificial distinction. Besides, the allegation was that the Pats were using the video not to gain an advantage in the immediate game, but in a future game, so you can't even argue that the Patriots obtained even a temporary advantage, because they never had the tapes to analyze for later use! Let it go. The Patriots aren't great because they cheat, or the refs give them games. They used to say the 72 Dolphins weren't that good because they only beat one winning team during the regular season, I don't believe that crap either, but that's what sore losers say.

Colts are at a massive disadvantage playing that game on the road. I'm referring to the Fury of Anti-Revenge angle that will dramatically favor NE. When you win a huge game on the other guy's turf, especially if it was lopsided or a come-from-behind controversial win, the winning team has surreal edge if it hosts the next meeting. Especially in the first half. The home team has unmatched energy and confidence advantage. I've used that system for nearly 20 years and I'm convinced it is the most powerful angle in sports, although the mainstream media is completely clueless that it exists.

The game I waited 9 months to bet was NE over SD in the first half, after the playoff result from last season. NE was automatically going to be in a motivated frenzy, then spy gate came along and boosted it even more. Against the Colts, NE will have the same type of unleashed fury they utilized against SD. The Colts will have to be at their absolute best merely to survive the first half.

I think the Giants were the last realistic hope. NE wanted that game but didn't desperately need it, and it showed. Now they go back to early season form, rested and motivated. The only game in the past month that was relevant to the playoffs was the Steelers game, and NE disposed of a potential playoff opponent, to prove a point.
