I think he will be fine in coverage. I wouldn't want to see him squared up with the majority of NFL backs....he is a thin dude. Kinda built like Jason Taylor was.

That’s a bunch of BS. We have the tenth overall pick in round 2 and the eleventh in round one. And in round three we have the ninth. The list I see doesn’t even say we acquired those picks.

When teams have identical records, they "cycle" after each round:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Football_League_Draft#Rules_for_determining_draft_order

SF, Oakland, Miami all went 6-10. So in the first round it's in that order (after tiebreakers), then they "cycle" and in the 2nd it's Oakland, Miami, SF. In the 3rd round it's Miami, SF, Oakland etc...
    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000919673/article/2018-nfl-draft-order-for-all-seven-rounds

    So 11+32 = 43 is correct, but after cycling it's 42.

“We have added speed,” Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said. “Getting faster on that side of the ball was a priority for us.”

Grier said McMillan raved about Baker as a teammate.....

    That we have.

Our back 7 is starting to excite me in coverage. I haven't felt like that EVER as a Dolphins fan. Like ever.

Jerome Baker - LB - Dolphins

Baker (6’1/229) turned pro as a junior after starting his final two seasons in Columbus, leaving school with 17.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and two INTs. Baker led the 2017 Buckeyes in tackles (74) and generated 19 QB pressures on just 76 pass-rush snaps (PFF), showing blitzing skills in addition to sideline-to-sideline range and man-coverage ability, shadowing Saquon Barkley last October and holding him to 23 receiving yards on four catches. Not a dominant run defender but speedy (4.53) and valuable on passing downs, Baker’s early-career ticket is at nickel or dime linebacker.

This draft is telling me we will be passing the ball a lot and planning of defending the pass a lot.

I do have some concerns about our defense vs the run overall. We are really going to need McMillan to be the Mike we hope he is.

I read that as well....hopefully the review is wrong. One thing that jumped out at me was that he "looks small, plays small" and will likely be a "quality backup or out-matched starter". Yet he was rated a 5.65, which means a projected instant starter. We're going to have to find some film on him to see what's what.

We really SUCK at spending 2nd round picks on QBs. Like REALLY SUCK. Be happy with a Mike King or Luke Falk in 4th to develop.

Both, but the taunting was epic. From a KICKER! "The last time the Cowboys won a championship noe of these draftees were born!" I heard it on the rdio on the way home today. Classic!

The decision to move the draft home around every year is turning out to be brilliant so far!

Lauletta or White today would be nice to get. They both have issues that can be fixed with a good QB coach. I am already looking a Lock, Fitzgerald, and Eason for next year. We really need a long term solution at QB. Reed, McFadden, Campbell, and Toliver at DB in in the late round picks would be ok. Clapp or Teller at G. Have a fun day.

I would say to watch the BIG10 CG or even the USC game. In the Wisky game, he was just a tackling machine. Against USC, he was asked to make tackles vs Ronald Jones, and most of the time, he did. He was effective in coverage and he was effective blitzing. Now they did get an OG on him sometimes, but almost any LB can be blocked by an OG. He's fast, he closes in a hurry, and he's versatile. When he goes to the QB, he gets there in a hurry.

Liked the Fitzpatrick pick, loved the Gesicki pick, but really wish we would've gone with Rudolph in the third. Hoping Baker is better than his scouting report reads.

The Steelers seem to really like Rudolph; I wish our team had picked him instead. I hope this isn't like when we didn't pick or sign Brees.

We needed a range add at lb with upside and we got it in jerome baker.

At minimum he’s a stud special teamer and like Carmen said sub package player.

I think he can play some dime lb and maybe in a couple years be a starting weak but like Carmen also said he’s gonna a have to be willing to do more dirty work to play every down.

Athletically he’s top 25 pick worthy. That cat is a gazelle. I also think he can carry some coverage. Blitz him on the edge too. Don’t rule out some package safety ask either.

Miami needed range we got it.

I guess my amateur mind is programmed to not think about sub package fits that early.....personal flaw.

I like him in the role we are going to have him, he is already a better coverage guy than Kiko and his ceiling is pretty high. Be interesting to see how much they try to bulk him up.

Never heard of the dude. Hope he plays special teams well.

If we don't pick Hurst though, we are making a mistake. Attitude wise, gotta think about Griffen. We want guys that just love football and will follow a coach, here you go.

I'm sure they have had to explain to Steven Ross TWICE, why they haven't selected Hurst. Certainly must know something we dont, however when you need a DT to rotate?? One would think he makes sense.

Listening to Mel/Todd, he's just a blocker. Fasano ceiling, probably used in a similar fashion. Goal line and short yardage maybe.
Don't hate it, not a value, but clearly we are in the zone where popular opinion and specific team views differ greatly.

Would like to see a DT, RB (BoScab) and OL.
