I'm sure they'll bring him in for a look.

I'd be fine with Drake/Gore/rookie RB for this season, but if Anderson is not looking for one last BIG contract? There is a reason the Broncos are cutting him, probably due to his cap hit versus his injury issues.

So glad Miami didn't make a trade with Denver though, letting a starting RT go for a HB they planned to cut anyway. The trades you don't make can be the best deals sometimes.

Ya, a trade would have been a nightmare, but the 1000 yds and the 27 years old keep jumping out at me. Gore is dirt cheap and signed to the league minimum and will be 35 next month. Frees up a draft pick. Nice one two with Drake and CJ and Gore icing on the cake...

Certainly takes some pressure off RT, and Sitton, Kilgore pickup big time help...
This is were OL help will pay nice dividends...Love to get Ragnow in the 3 rd.....

    Interesting:

I'm told the Dolphins did not want to trade Ja'Wuan James for C.J. Anderson and had no such agreement in place.

His salary from Bronco's was of $4.5 million in 2018.

I kinda think that Drake/Gore/rookie makes the most sense.

Gore has $90K guaranteed, so it would be possibly, but kind of shady, to release him. Paradoxically, keeping him would probably be shady too because likely signed with the expectation that he would get significant touches, and an Anderson signing probably puts him 3rd on the depth chart.

In the end, he is a Gase guy, and I think we all know how he is with "his guys."

In my mind, Gase is on the hot seat and by letting him at least pick the guys that he wants on the roster, puts his fate squarely in his own hands. If he was right about not having the right guys producing the right culture, and he turns things around I would happily admit that I was wrong. On the other hand, if the season is a disaster (I think we are heading in that direction), Ross can say, "We gave you what you asked for, and it didn't work. Clean your desk out because Coach Harbaugh will coming in tomorrow."

Agreed, a trade would have been so stupid. I'm excited about the potential of several RB prospects in this draft, but at a low contract it would be difficult to find fault with the addition of Anderson.

I have a feeling he will be a dolphin should we find a decent contract number for him. Gase really wanted him 2 years ago so I don’t think anything has changed since he was a 1000 yard back last year!

I can imagine him adding to our rotation

Wanted no part of that $4.5 mil salary in trade. On a one year pact at half that I’m interested. Preferably less

No problem with adding CJ at 27. Between him, Drake and Gore, you have to anticipate at least one missing a significant amount of time.

I know this draft is loaded with RB's...to be continued.

I applaud the Dolphins brass for this.

They were patient, did not rush into a trade to acquire Anderson, and remained hopeful for his release. They got their wish, and I'm confident we'll sign him. There's mutual interest.

Between Drake, Gore, and Anderson, we'll have a very potent rushing game. I'd love to see the team draft a developmental back in the middle rounds to round out the group.

Teams that could use CJ Anderson: Buccaneers, Colts, Seahawks, Redskins, Broncos (lol), Panthers. Sleepers: 49ers (Jet compliment), Texans (cut Miller?), Patriots (cut Gillislee), Chargers (Gordon compliment)

    Fair statement.....
Just know that Gase has an abnormal thing for friends he's coached and also CJ is close to Gase so we do have a slit advantage.... but if someone dishes out enough dough we know what usually follows...

Funny if we get Miller back and Texas got CJ...small world

Do see the 27 year old an upgrade over a 35 year old Gore....

Except that all Gore costs is a roster spot. And in return you get a great locker room presence, veteran eyes, and a hometown hero. 27 yr old just got cut brings different not equal value.

LOL, veteran eyes....home town hero.....meaningless IMO...More interested in what he does ON the Field in an actual game.
Oh ya ...all this "great in the locker room" also not high on my list of recruitment qualities (though a bonus)

Gore's Cost great worth the gamble, If time still on the clock he's a nice fit with Drake.
    Leaves us Money for another.
    Mentor for Drake , bonus...

But still think CJ, who was Denver's leading rusher last year and who's 4. something, 1000 yds behind that crappy Denver OL, is a no brainer, JMO. Damn, Drake and CJ and Gore chomping at the bit, makes me want to go out and even get better O Linemen......( take some pressure off RT too)
Either way, I do like Gore just don't want to have to depend on him to much. 35 and still possibly very effective is fin-nominal.... but he is 35....

    UPDATE :

“We'll certainly see what happens once we come out of the draft,” Tannenbaum said about possibly pursuing running back C.J. Anderson".................
