What? This season is entertaining, and if we keep the 7th seed we’ll face Boston first round without Kyrie.
What exactly do you want from this team? A second round exit? We're not guaranteed a series win against Boston even without Kyrie in the lineup. Miami has to get better and we cannot do that without deconstructing and reconstructing major aspects of the team. Miami is going to need to figure out some multi-team deals to offload some salary. If I were Riley, the only guys I'm trying to retain for sure are Richardson, Ellington, Wade, and Bam. Everyone else is fair game.
We got to see what this team could do over a full season and it turned out to be slightly over .500. I just wish we hadn't had to commit to so many years just to see what would happen. Miami is conceivably going to be this same team until 2022 unless trades and good drafting happen. We haven't seen much good in the draft outside of Richardson and Bam's potential. I'd gut this team to land Kawhi though. I wanted to gut it for Kyrie too. I'm actually happy Riley at least have the guys fair market value or above (*cough* Waiters *cough*) so it wouldn't come off as enticing guys to take less then trading them. If we can get people to bite on that thing we have TJ, then I'm thrilled.
Zeke Upshaw’s death is so tragic and at the same time, it makes you take a step back and realize why it was important for the Heat to end Bosh’s career. Could have been him if we let his pride get in the way.
For them to play entertaining ball and make the playoffs? We’ve been spoiled heat fans with 4 straight finals so I know just making the playoffs isn’t that exciting, but those finals were 4-8 years ago. Getting superstars isn’t easy to do. I remember taking the raptors to 7 and being a game away from the ECF. That was fun as hell, IMO, and I think we’re a better team now. Not contenders, but good enough to make it exciting. If Riley does blow it up, more reason to enjoy this season.
LeBron wearing his "vice"-colored sneakers tonight. Next year he'll be able to wear the jersey, too. EDIT: It's funny how good this guy is at trolling.
Always good to see Lebron go home with a pouty face. Loves the tenacity on defense today. Need to keep playing like that.
Dwyane Wade moved up to tie LeBron in the head-to-head match-up 15-15 last night. Hopefully that will finish in the positive.
Whiteside had a meltdown in the locker room after the game. Called his limited minutes “bull****” and said minutes have been an issue all year. Also questioned his future with the team.
We play better with either Olynyk or Bam on the floor. I'm a Whiteside fan, but we have two better 5's who move quicker and make better decisions.
It also puts Spo in a weird position, because what does he say? Hassan the reason your minutes are limited is because you're kinda dum..., stup..., slow to react on defense and we're giving up too many points because you can't process where to be quick enough."
Considering the frickin Brooklyn Nets went to the rim at will and with no resistance in the 4th and OT last night I can’t blame Hassan too much. Caris LeVert looked like LeBron our there, abusing everybody. And it’s not like we played Bam or Olynyk either. We went super small.
I thought he would live up to it. He proved me wrong. He's a solid starting center but not worth the cap space he is taking up.
So is Heat Twitter still going to ***** about Whiteside tonight? The only thing more annoying than Hassan’s moodiness is the moralizers complaining about it.
I'm going to call Winslow as getting a two year deal to stay in Miami with an option in the second year. This team really has the pieces you need to win in the NBA outside of a superstar. If we can restructure parts of this team (add a superstar, moving Whiteside, TJ's contract, and add a solid backup PG) then this team will be in position to do something. I wonder when Durant is going to want to be the top guy again.
kyrie officially out for season.... tanking to 7th seed sounds good..... but i think we want lebron vs wade to happen already
I hope it's Philly in that 3 seed. Whiteside has clowned Embiid when they played for the most part. Winslow having an offensive game now means we can keep him in down the stretch and have some amazing defensive options with Richardson and him on the floor. Those two can switch on Simmons and still have a competent defender on Reddick or anyone else from the 4 down for that matter. I still don't trust a Brad Stevens team to just lay down. Boston's only win against Cleveland in last year's ECF was after Isaiah was out. We do have the wings to run with them defensively though and would almost certainly abuse them on the boards between Whiteside, Olynyk, and Bam. The East is officially wide-open. Am I to believe that Dwayne Casey figured out how to coach a contender? They set a franchise record for regular season wins every season these days.
It must be embarrassing as hell to go on ESPN and talk all that trash about the Rockets....then proceed to lose all 4 games, lmao. Dame & CJ... Been laughing at the haters all season. Hurry up and start the damn playoffs.
And? Harden missed game 2. Paul missed game 1. Portland was full strength during both...still lost. Dame and CJ wanted to trash talk on ESPN about the Rockets and proceeded to look foolish. Chris Paul has missed 21 games. Harden has missed 9. Eric Gordon has missed 11. Capela has missed 7. Don't expect me to feel sympathy.
Must be disheartening having to brag about a regular season series knowing the perpetual disappointment Houston is in the playoffs.
