Hope you feel better bro. If you want, I know a guy who can punch you in the face so that your side doesnt hurt so bad...heck you'll practically forget about that side muscle altogether :nutkick:

Just messing with ya dude. I get cramps in my side/obliques mostly from gym related stuff. Cant guarantee it'll work or not make it worse, but what I usually do is get on the floor like im going to do a push up, and lift my chest while my stomach stays on the floor to stretch the region. Does that make sense....?

Morning guys, well that was the most excruciating 5-6 hours I have ever spent. I even had to call 911 once because the tacacardia was getting bad and I have an extreme panic disorder. My heart rate was at 130 and my blood pressure at 190/110 when the EMT guys measured it.

I don't know what it was exactly.....I don't think it was a kidney stone, I have passed those before and my pee was mostly clear nothing unusual. Its was also slightly colored darker this morning but nothing like blood in it.

I think what happened is that I started getting a bad gastroentinitis attack (I have had mild ones before) and did a stupid, stupid thing last nite. I felt bloated so what did dummy do ? He has a frosted mug of milk and Ritz crackers with peanut butter as a snack. :pity:

That led to the extreme discomfort, and in turn caused a side muscle to flex and cramp. And for whatever reason I could not get it to relax, and it became like a vice-grip on my side. Dudes, this was bad ........I mean bad guys. I thought "I would rather be dead" bad. I could not go to sleep until after 5am

This morning I woke up and felt sore all over, but back to normal for the most part. Only had a soft-boiled egg over toast for breakfast.

I gotta change my diet, that's it.....I have to cut out all the fried foods and make a change in my life. Thanks for replying y'all, hopefully this was just an incident and not the start of a prolonged bout with kidney stones.....god those are painful.

I think it was an inside muscle that cramped when I was "pushing". I could not get it to let go and it was like a vice-grip for hours and hours.

Thanks everyone for being mature about this

Hi Mal, much better this morning sir. Hopefully whatever it was has been resolved. Guys this was bad, I mean really bad pain. Like "having a baby" pain from the way I have heard women describe it.

Hey Boik, thanks, and yes I was doing the stretching last nite but it just wouldn't let go, adn why I don't know. Maybe it was because I was nervous and couldn't relax, but it just stayed flexed (I could feel it) for hours and hours. I get panic attacks and started getting one when I couldn't get it to relax, and then it took several more hours to get better, and finally around 5am I was able to bear the pain enough to fall asleep. When I woke up around 9:30am the pain was basically all gone, but I was still tired and very sore and was running a slight fever. My heart rate was also elevated but that eventually went down too.

I hope I never have a repeat of this, and I am changing my diet today to get rid of all the fats & bad stuff. Sometimes we need a wakeup call to get our heads in the right place and this was mine -- a 5 alarm bell raisin' wakeup call.

I used to workout and eat right, but as I got older I just stopped working out, and that was wrong. About 10 years ago I was on a diet of grilled chicken breast 3 times a day, with a protein shake 2 more times, and was in the best shape of my life. I need to at least get back to some daily exercise and stop feeling sorry for myself with this rheumatoid arthritis (the reason I stopped lifting).

    Thanks everyone

If that ever happens again, try some Mineral Ice to get you through the worst of the cramps. I get that quite frequently, and it helps until things kick loose.
