Feels like some sort of sick joke. I'd sooner take Gase trying to play the position himself than have Henne back.
really hoping this is just talk. there's no upside here tanny gets hurt and this is the option we picking top 6 in 2019
LOL, I'm still secretly a Henne fan! Hopefully Gase wouldn't ask him to throw touch passes all day like Sparano did. The bigger question to me is, "WTF are we bringing in a veteran QB for?" Are we cutting Moore? Is Tannehill still not 100%? This scares me since 2018 is squarely on RT's shoulders.
I wonder if the discussion is along the lines of if we want you how much are you looking for? Then wait until draft week and see if we manage to pick one up, if not and Henne wasn't demanding anything ludicrous then you go with the gamble of Tan staying healthy and bring Henne in to fight the practice squad guys for backup.
Moore's not wanting to come back. Gase treated him like a punk the entire time he was here culminating with a big *** Cutler slap across the face. I still cringe thinking about that Baltimore game and how Gase handled the prep. You could tell he doesn't care for the guy.
I really don't understand the freaking out over this. The only QB available that has a shot at playing well should Thill go down is CKap and we likely can't afford him. Matt Moore costs too much and wouldn't be able to win more than 6 games in a season, Henne is cheaper and might win you 5....so what? We're probably going to draft someone. If Mayfield hits 11, we will take him. If not, we will take someone else down the draft. But there is literally no one else out there head and shoulders better than Henne.
I hope they draft a real development guy thus year. Someone that has a real chance of turning into something. That means a guy with legit arm strength and brains. Who? I have no idea.
I'm in the same boat- I have no idea either. I do think that teams should draft a QB every year in the early-mid rounds since it's such a premium position. In my opinion, it's worth it having four 3rd round busts on a QB if the 5th one turns into a ten year starter.
Does he fit that criteria? I ask because ive been so darn discouraged I havent paid attention to anything ad far as the draft goes.
Luke Falk in the 2nd. Mike Smith 3rd round? I feel better about the 2nd tier QBs this year than the top five. Not sold on ANY of them.
like I said before, this yr is going to be tough for RT I feel sorry for him, im not nowhere near a RT fan either this is def going to test whether he is what the haters say or the lovers say.
Out of curiosity, what do you think Kaep's value is after sitting for 14 months and receiving no interest at a top starter's salary? I still have very mixed emotions about him because of the drama it will bring from the media. If he could be signed in Moore's range though ($4-6M/year) then he'd be on a team somewhere right now. Heck, he might have started somewhere last year if his ego wasn't so big on what his real value was.
I have come to the conclusion that everyone is right on Tannehill. He is freaking amazing, awesome and unstoppable at times. And he's sometimes woefully average as well. So unless we win a super bowl trophy, I have a sneaking suspicion that everybody will keep their viewpoints and nothing will change. At the end of the day though, the only opinion that really matters is Adam Gase's. If he says RT is the man, then there's really nothing else to say on the matter.
Yeah, me too. He'd have to come out with a public apology to say that while he supports his cause, he never meant to be a distraction or to take away from the game. And I just can't see him doing that.
I think his value is going to go up. He's capable and available. Those are 2 things you can't say about any other QB.
not much as a fan we can do about it, ive never once thought he was "amazing" but he has shown signs at times but shown signs at other times hes clueless. but your right all we can do is sit by and see what happens. im just saying if I was a coach and my job depended on RT I wouldn't sleep at night
I don't even think this far gone from the situation even an apology would fix it, he already said he would stand. To me that is even worse that now you know what you did was wrong and you have no job and now you want to do right. I support the cause but if your so deep into it you need to stay in it not back track because now you have no job. should have thought about that prior to making such an uproar.
The big red flag to me is that he filed a lawsuit that the owners were blacklisting him or conspiring against him. If he really believes that, then each team's front office is already expecting all sorts of problems that they don't want to deal with. So he really blacklisted himself in a way- I can't see any team willingly stepping into that media controversy. If you think about it, we traded Ajayi for less. I support his cause as well and honestly, I don't think he did anything wrong EXCEPT to quit his job. I don't know how he gets back to being a football player though. On a side note, I am DYING to write his book with him- it would be a huge bestseller and finally get his entire viewpoint out there. If anybody happens to know Kaep, please tell him to call me! =)
I honestly feel like he's not physically capable of playing anymore. Not skill-wise, but health wise. He looks like an anorexic now and being a running QB you have to be built better. I think this scares a lot of teams.
A buddy of mine played with him at Nevada and said he is a jerk and pretty much acted the way he does now, very spoiled antics and thought everyone should be on his side. I could tell you some stories but I don't have the fingers to type it all. The part of the problem and a lot of pro athletes problem is that the fans and basic mid level society is the reason they have jobs. for example: if you grown corn wouldn't you make sure all day every day that the corn is watered and no insect eating them or people stealing it right? the part of a pro athlete is to not stir up the fans negatively and he had to know what he did was going to cause major uproar once the nfl started seeing drop in money now it no longer became about the cause, it became about the nfl and their money. Knowing that the nfl is now the American sport I thought it was very very bad decision to kneel there have been many ways people have protested in sports but to kneel to something to dear to many Americans I thought was very very bad decision, and I turned out to be right I hope he didn't spend much of his money because he may never play football again.
I agree not to mention the length running qb's play when constantly working out etc his days were numbered anyways from start now them days may be at 0
