My take: Lets sign a 32 year old player with an injury history to replace a younger more talented player without an injury history because he'll say yes sir.
This better not equal 16 mil between him and wilson. How about signing somebody that actuals blocks.Wtf!
Hard to know what to think until we know the money involved but having some veteran leadership in the receiver corps makes sense, especially with Tan coming off his injury. DA seemed to come up with a fair few clutch plays whilst with the Patriots but that may just be Brady.
I suggested this a couple times. He should be no more than $6 million per year. He had a lot of clutch receptions last year, and as a #3/4 WR should help move the chains.
We've overpaid for Stills and Wilson ... can we maybe not overpay for another guy? Does anyone see him repeat his last year, or was that his high note. Imo it's the latter. For a good price fine, but not another overpay.
Hes getting 8.25 guaranteed in an apparent 12.5 million dollar deal. Im on the fence I like that hes away from Brady now, but Im not sure at whose expense this stop gap is going to cost us. Im half expecting him to come in and drop clutch passes he's made routinely in NE.
What in the hell is this front office doing? This is just beyond puzzling. We lose Landry, ok great. I can then swallow the Albert signing, even if I think the contract is high. So, then we look for...Danny’effin Amendola? What? Amendola is made of glass. He can sprain something walking out of the locker room. There’s a reason the Patriots no longer want him and don’t want to pay him. This is silly...
I'd understand this move a lot more if there was less guaranteed money but it seems like a weird deal considering his injury history.
If anyone begins to b*tch about his salary on Miami compared to NE - they clearly don't understand that players take cuts to play for the Patriots. That'll never happen in Miami. $8.25 million guaranteed over two years is fair market value IMO.
So let me get this straight! We can't pay are starting Right Tackle on our paper thin offensive line 9 MIL this year but we can pay a slot guy with a grand total of 124 receptions 1544yds,and 7 tds in a combined 4 years 8 mil a year. Not to mention a 32 year old injury prone wr for 6 mil. This clown gets worse every year.14 mil a year equals jarvis landry.Who would you rather have?
With this clown in charge he will probally play both seasons meaning 6.Either way I would not have signed either one of these dudes for this money when we need line help.Stupid!
Honestly man - I don't think you watched Wilson. He's going to surprise you. Did you see some of the numbers Travis posted on him? Sample size is smaller but he puts up more effective metrics running the same route tree, but isn't limited to only running inside.
Im fine getting rid of landry you know this! The compensation sucked as I wanted him traded last year when we had leverage. My point is the money needs to go to offensive lineman not wasted on these two players.Draft a slot wr! If you are going to spend this much I would have rather had landry than a 4th and a 7th.
Seems to me Wilson is a faster, smarter Landry but without the penalties and half the price. Amendola is about THE best mentor our young WR corp could have on the field.
So this is more important than offensive line help?2 Slot wr to replace the best one in the league for not much less. How come every player we sign is the greatest and then when they leave all of sudden they aren't great anymore?
