Makes you wonder how bad he is in the locker room if we're willing to cut him despite the small cap saving.

Suh’s contract calls for a cap number of $26.1 million for 2018 and he has a $8.5 million bonus due next week. The Dolphins will only get $3.9 million back if he’s designated as a pre-June 1 cut. If the Dolphins make him a post-June 1 cut, which can’t happen until the league year starts on Wednesday, they will clear $17 million in cap space.

The question I have is what type of impact did Suh make? I know he drew double teams, but did that really help us? Is that something we could live with out? Would we be able to fill his type of production with a draft pick or someone we already have on our team?

Note: Personally, I really like Suh and think he was a model citizen as a Dolphin. If he does leave, I wish him the best and hope he stays involved with our organization when he hangs up his cleats.

This team is ruining football for me. Trying to change the culture like Philbin did. We all know how this turns out. Gase fired at the end of the year and the team devoid of talent.

watching all these developments from England and I am wondering what the hell is going on at Miami. 3 top players now released( incl Ajayi) -what is the strategy? 2018 is a massive season for Gase and if he doesn't deliver play off football he must be a goner.

If Suh is a problem child in the locker room, then I can see Gase wanting him gone ASAP. This one move may cripple the DL for this season, but if they are going for a full rebuild, why not cut him?

It was a bad contract to begin with, as no DT is worth Franchise QB money, but it was exciting to have him around. I had half-joked about trading #11 and Tanny to the Browns for #1, but I could see it happen now for #4 if the QB they want is still there. No one and nothing is off the table at this point I guess.

I'm at that point as well, I'm just sick of this franchise and they basically killed football for me. I really don't feel like watching another 3-13 type of season.

I'll say it again. Foolish front office.
This situation is just ridiculous. Feels like the Dolphins are that guy who buys a high value tux to front at the prom and then returns it after one evening.

I honestly think its the large bonus they dont want to pay him and the fact that he probably doesnt want to renegotiate. He always behaved very professional in the press room and you never heard anything about his locker room antics.

Ajayi was a cancer in the dressing room. Getting rid of him was actually a case of addition by subtraction.

$16m per year for a slot receiver (albeit a very good one) was far too much for Landry - and the Fins couldn't afford it anyway.

Suh at $22m per year is a luxury the Fins can't afford. There's been some awful personnel decisions made over the last couple of years that almost make this roster move (ie cutting Suh) an inevitability.

Honestly...Suh is a talented player but, his contract is super inflated and is almost like a weight holding back the organization. For now I am going to trust the process and see how this all shakes out before i judge these moves.

When do we get to cut Tannenbaum? That's what I want to know.

I'm not mad about them cutting Suh... I think you can understand the inevitability of this. I don't think anyone really expected him to play out the length of that contract at those figures, did they?

At the end of the day though, this is just what Tannenbaum does. Maybe Suh was a nice addition to have when we had the cap room and thinking we had a window to strike, but now, it's quite clear that window needs replacing, and you just can't afford to have that on your cap, especially when it's looking like you got a good one in Godchaux, and possibly Taylor along with Phillips.

To be honest, I'd try and move Tannehill next. Get rid of that big cap hit too if you can. Save the cash, save the cap space, start fresh with a new young pup, go the journeyman vet QB type on a decent salary, and set yourself up with a new window to shoot for with low salaries at high impact positions.

I wouldn't trust Mike Tannenbaum with that task though, nor Chris Greir for that matter.

I can't wait for us to use the money we're saving to go get some mid tier FA's that won't affect a game.

How long till the usual suspects on this forum start saying "great move" "he was getting old" "suh has bad knees" "he was a distraction in the locker room". GTFOH with that. This sh!tty team got rid of arguably its 3 best players in less than a year. I hope you're all excited about the 4 win season next year

Im just shocked we couldnt come up with a way to restructure his deal. Suh loved it here in florida and hes so aware of how his money works and has talked extensively about the way he was getting taxed in Michigan.

I know a lot of people are saying that Gase is gone if we don't take a good run at the playoffs this season, but I wonder if they give Gase another year after this one to give him a chance to build a squad that's not anchored by some huge contracts from previous regimes.

Cost too much? Good players cost lots and lots of money. I've never understood that mentality. You think our linebackers sucked this year, wait till Suh isn't in front of them taking up two blockers. The dolphins are turning into the Marlins, without the recent championships

that's the thing is a lot of people think he under produced, but I don't think anyone in the league sees more double teams than him I bet he got doubled teamed almost 90+% of the time. now with out him the double team is going to shift to wake, I hate to say it but for wakes sake I would trade him now, hes too old to be thrown into a rebuild.

While I never thought he should have been signed for the money he signed for with the Dolphins,
The fact is Suh was by far the best player on defense for this team. Unfortunately he was surrounded
by a bunch of mediocre players on defense.

Once again the individuals making player personnel decisions for the Dolphins truly show how inept they are. After the Landy trade, I predicted the Dolphins would be no better than 5-11 this coming season.

With Tannebaum, Grier, and Gase continuing to be in charge of player personnel decisions, I now think the Dolphins will be lucky to win 4 games next season. It is more likely the Dolphins are
going to replace the Browns as the worst team in the NFL.

Since they are obviously rebuilding, they should trade Tannehill and do whatever is necessary to trade up in the first round to select one of the top tier QB’s in the draft. Perhaps this way they will
be able give this rookie QB 3-4 years to get adjusted to the NFL and they might be ready to contend for a playoff spot by 2021.

With the Patriots once again destined to win the division and the Bills being a superior team, it will once again be the Jets and Dolphins fighting it out for last place in the division. Of course with all the cap money the Jets have to spend this year, I suspect the Jets will be closer to the Bills next year than the Dolphins.

Sucks cause he's the best DT in the league imo but sometimes he looks like a world beater and other times he looks like he's just collecting a check. His salary has never sat well with me but his presence demands focus from teams and that makes everyone around him better. I just wish he had the drive Wake does, or Taylor and Thomas did, or maybe he does, he just doesn't show it every down. Definitely do hope they fill his spot with vet talent and not some hopeful or low salary player.

I'm not sure why they didn't just name me- and I'm not sure how I feel on this one. Pissed? No...I was much more pissed when we signed him at that ridiculous contract, and honestly I was even madder when they used their one negotiation within the contract way too early. We never could afford him and we never had the LB corp to fully take advantage of what Suh brings.

I have said every single year that while I love Suh on the field, we could bring in two to three quality starters almost anywhere on the team for the same amount of money. Would you rather have Suh or Le'Voen Bell (RB), Nate Solder (OL), Nigel Bradham (LB), and Vontae Davis (CB)? They'd cost us about the same and each is the best at their position (within the free agents available this season).

Now that he's cut though, I'm not sure how I feel...it will take a couple of days to figure that out.

I get that there's a lot of negative folks here who want to fire everyone whenever we don't win the Super Bowl. And all I can say is more power to you....if you like being pissed off all the time over something you're supposed to love, then go for it. You won't see me pissing in your Corn Flakes over that decision.

At the same time though, I can never understand why you're mad at me for being positive. I always root for the Dolphins to win, the team that you say you love...why on Earth would that upset anyone who claims to be a Dolphins fan? That's just how I live my life though; focus on the positive because there's nothing to gain by being negative. And I'm not just talking football here, I'm talking life....when have you ever benefited from complaining about something and focusing on a bad outcome? There's absolutely nothing to gain from it, and at the same time it makes you angry, depressed and less equipped to do anything about it in the future.

I was joking when I said the Fins will go 13-3 and win the Super Bowl next season, but you'd better believe that's what I'm hoping for. And you know what? Because I think that way, I am excited for every single kickoff. I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to feel that way when they only hurt themselves being negative and focusing on the past.
