LB/S hybrid players are the new "tweeners" . Used to be the DE/LB hybrids, but in the 65% passing league LB/S who can cover from the hashes in all the way down the field are being sought after. It's our Defenses biggest weakness.
It seems like we found one in Stephone Anthony. I think we had the best OLB in Dion Jordan but our coaches effed that up royally...
It's Michael Sam, and that was completely unnecessary. I know you like to take the comedy route, Pandarilla, but those were some pretty disgusting comments. A football player is a football player, nothing else matters (outside of criminal activity).
I think we have some really good talent for that role actually, Jones and Anthony, TJ, even Aiken all fit the mold. We need the FS talent to back it up more than anything. Earl Thomas might be available, but I'd rather they find that in the draft. And Jordan stepped on his own dong. He admits it, now.
I advocating dropping a late pick or signing him to an undrafted free agent contract, on the hopes he would teach our punks on the team at that time some lessons on life.. The two are not the same but folks can dismiss griffins game all they want..that’s the beauty of this stuff, we get to see how it plays out.
That's not due to his lack of athletic ability. He came in mid season and couldn't get up to speed with Burke's defense. I blame Burke for not coaching him up as much as I blame Anthony for not getting it. I have a feeling he will be pretty good this next season.
Meh, it's a disgusting topic in a carnal sport. It's why I don't have a twitter account. Btw- I'm outraged by your outrage...and your point was my point, also. Just tell me about the football stuff.
Really!?! It wasn't coach veratu making him gain weight, not playing him worth **** and not playing him at LB despite every other dolphin fan clamoring for him to play LB. Now there's a 6'5", 250 lb that we'll need to spend another premium pick for. Meanwhile, Pouncey and like 50% of the league are chiefing out instead of reaching out to show him the pot smokin' ropes of the NFL. Philbin and Ireland were simply not on the same page with that pick and I tend to blame Philbin more for being so damned obtuse.
Jordan had many personal issues, your obviously correct there, but the Dolphins did have him gain weight to transition to a hand-in-the-dirt 4-3 DE, as opposed to the 3-4 OLB he was projected to be.
I think Anthony didn't fit where the Saints needed him. He had a fantastic rookie year and ended up on IR in his second season.
I always thought that was speculation. I didn't think it ever got confirmed. I know guys like Armando said things about it, but I don't believe the vast majority of the local guys. Not saying that was the case....I'm open to seeing something from the team conforming it.
He had a drug test problem. His last suspension was for beer, lol. He didn't even know he would get nicked for that.
I mean, he came out of in college at 248# in '13 and then weighed in at 265# in '14 training camp and subsequently suspended 4 games for PED use. One doesn't lose weight under the use of PED/steroids. He was hellbound on gaining weight to become a 4-3 DE. There's the evidence itself, from the man himself.
Since it's probable that Edmunds will be gone, who would be a better fit for us and help us cover TE better, Smith (LB) or James (S)?
yeah some of us were screaming at that gain weight and play full-time with your hand in the dirt crap..what a waste of talent by our regime.
