After seeing the eagles shock the pats i ask myself how far are we away to come on top in our Division, look where the eagles came from unbeliveable.. Im 24 i wanna witness us winning a superbowl... Jarvis Landry also
Contenders for 2nd or 3rd in the division? Sure...super bowls contenders...were not even playoff pretenders...im more likely to get in a fender bender.
No shock from me. I actually betted the reverse line at -6.5 for eagles to cover. The only thing that shocked me is that the patriots scored 33 points. I expected the eagles to hold them down to less than 20
It all hinges on Ryan Tannehill and the progression of Gase as a coach. On paper, I absolutely believe Miami is one productive off-season away from contention. It's up to the coaches to translate that onto the field. I'm excited to see this group bounce back after a disappointing '17. If we learned anything in '16, it's that they are resilient as ****.
Can Miami win 9-10 games next year? Probably. Will they make the playoffs? Maybe. Can they win a super bowl? No chance.
There's definitely "a chance" we win the SB. Maybe the probability is small, but much more unlikely things have happened in sports than if the Dolphins were to win a SB next year. It's a different sport, but Leicester City in the Premier League (England) in 2016 went from being bottom dwellers to winning the title with a record 5000:1 odds before the season began lol. To put that in perspective, right now the Cleveland Browns are given 150:1 odds of winning next years SB: http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/futures/ So don't just automatically shut the door on winning the SB next year before any of the games are played.
I mean who saw the 5-11 2000 Patriots go 11-5 in 2001 and win a superbowl? Theres always a chance for everyone....except the Browns they suck.
Eagles didn't win this overnight, they have been making excellent front office moves for about the past 5,6 years.. I know over that span I've gone on the record here admiring what they've been doing..
Look at Tampa Bay- that's essentially what they did from 2016 to 2017 as well. I want no part of this conversation though since the consensus seems to be that we're only better than the Browns. The funny part is that a lot of the people saying that are the same ones who said Philly fans were such idiotic jerks- go figure.
I think if we strengthen our oline and get a better Tight end, we could win our Division Pats are not as good as we think, Brady will be 41 and their defense is not good.
I would feel more confident if the front office had a clue.Tannabaum is an idiot and I feel until we find a real GM we will be hoping for a wildcard at best until he is gone.Maybe ross will someday hire the right guy by mistake.
Cool, so when is our first excellent front office move coming? Because by your post we are 5/6 years away
Correct. They spent quite a few years hosing lesser FO's (like the Dolphins), in order to establish the roster they have now. Not to mention, they also made the better head coaching decision (and a real offensive guru) in Jan. of '16.
The Phins have a lack of offense skils and struggle at a few defensive spots. If they can fix that in draft/Trade/free agency, they will become a contender. There are some problems which need to be soluted: 1st: find, get or make RT be a decent QB. 2nd: to help getting to this point, build a strong O-Line, who are able to block the run and protect the Quarterback. In 77 games, Tannehill was sacked 213 times (3 per game) and struggles under pressure. Avoid pressure and Tanny is - as PFF presumes - one of the better QBs in the league. In his last season, RT had been under pressure 40 per cent of the snaps. Protect him and he is going to deliver, for sure. So will Drake ^^ 3rd: get the TE-Position fixed! Sign two TEs who are able to block the run AND who are able to catch balls especially in Red Zone 4th: get rid of Landry and sign a cheaper slot receiver who can cause some thread in opponent defense 5th: rebuild the LB squad and get a LB who is able to defend opponent TEs ;-) 6th: fix the secondary by adding at least one very good veteran CB if the Dolphins are able to solve this problems, they surely will be a contender...
lol if Tanne didn't get hurt again in workouts and played this past season, we'd be in the playoffs again. now all the sudden we are trash. fun "fan" base.
I am a fan of Tannehill and certainly believe he positively impacts this team, but numerous indicators pointed to a down season for us this year for the ways in which we won last year. Some of which where based on point differentials and some accounted for discipline, but overall we were projected for less wins, regardless of the roster's health.
