He had a few great seasons no doubt. But he didn't do it long enough for me to consider him a HoF QB. After those 3 starting years in STL he had like one or two more very good seasons and was hurt or didn't play much otherwise. And even in those STL years he had something like 4.0 INT%. And this is coming from someone who knows his parents and rooted for him from day one.
While Minnesota impresses me, I don't think that's bold at all- Jax or NE should be able to win that final game. It's just a question of whether or not the Jags can pull off one more upset.
I'm a little late to the thread, but I agree with this. Would be a good story line. Worst to first, against first ever hometown Superbowl team. Neither QB being a big name guy. Every time the Superbowl is in Miami, Ive thought of how cool it would be for them to make it that year. Id be happy with any combination of teams that does not include the pats.
I'm stoked to watch these defenses play in the next 3 games. I'm really hoping the Jags dispatch the Pats (even though their defense is incredible in terms of flexibility and versatility), so we can get two weeks of prime time focus on the most important unit on the field - defense - and won't have to hear about QB this and QB that, of which mainly would be all about Brady.
I’m a defensive guy myself, would like to finally try and build a dominate unit here.. Jax is just loaded with hi end talent..I think it’s a great matchup of superior talent against intellect..Gronk is playing so he evens that gap a bit..
Watching the jaguars makes me angry. They've won 3 games in 3 of the last 4 seasons and 5 games the other. Now look at them. Why can't the dolphins ever improve?
As much as this pains me to say, excellent point. I totally forgot about him. I guess we're just destined to suck
I wanted him as a coach when he left Jax. I didn't know he'd be so good as Football Guru as he's been in his recent stint in Jax. The last 2 drafts have been godly.
Id be willing to bet, that gronk could be saying that he's Batman and somehow he'll be given a clean bill of health so he can play
If the Jaguars win the SB, that would be the biggest single season turnaround to win the SB. Currently the record is held by St. Louis Rams in 1999 after a 4-12 record in 1998. That turnaround was mostly due to Kurt Warner. This one.. defense (in 2016 Jags were ranked 25th by points allowed.. this year 2nd).
It just shows that it can be done with the right players and coaches. Which sadly, I don't think we have
Yep. Have to have a competent FO and coaching staff to get **** done and turn the corner. Meanwhile, in Miami . . .
When the patriots needed big plays, Brady would just throw it up and they'd call pass interference on Jacksonville.
Brady vs a backup quarterback in the super bowl... this is why i keep saying college football is better.
And what do Alabama and New England have in common? Defensive minded Saban and Belichick who reinvented the defensive wheel, so to speak, during their time together in Cleveland. Defense wins championships.
Dolphin fans should feel an extra special connection with Philly since we helped them get to the Super Bowl. 1) That awful trade down in '16 that removed us from a top 10 selection. 2) We sent them a bruising back (for very little compensation) which is perfect for the postseason and also helped them close out the season. Soak it in, folks.
