Ughh please no. If were going to bring in someone to help Gase scheme a powerful offensive scheme this is the wrong way to do it. Chicago has been horrible offensively for years.

    Here is his history:

    2017 Points For: 264 (16.5/g) 29th of 32 (Chicago)
    2016 Points For: 279 (17.4/g) 28th of 32 (Chicago)
    2015 Quaterback Coach Cleveland Browns
    2014 Quaterbacks Coach Cleveland Browns
    2013 Points For: 362 (22.6/g) 19th of 32 (Titans)

Thats his calculated resume. He's been in the leauge since 2005 as assist positions and a scout at one time. His best year as a coordinator was when the Titans had Fisher as Head Coach. He's not considered a quaterback guru or any guru from what I found. Gase seems to want someone who will follow and not lead or he just wants to say we addressed it when in realtiy it hasnt been addressed. This isn't a smart move IMHO but im not a football man, just a fan. However this doesnt look like a move we need to rush to fill.

Speculation Clyde Christensen could be let go soon as well according to the article.

Honestly, I don't know what an offensive coordinator does when the head coach creates the plays and calls them on the sidelines. I've always considered Gase the OC and HC all wrapped up into one, but there may be other things I'm not seeing (film research, player development, working with scout team, etc).

However, I will say that we started out horrible on offense and ended the year pretty darn strong, but the dumb penalties killed the offense more than anything. So unless an OC is teaching guys how to remember the snap count and avoid holding penalties, I don't see this as a huge move no matter what the team does.

I think we need better coaching for positions. Mental errors happen but we seemed to be having totaly collapses during every game this year. Most of them on the Oline which I hope gets a new hire this offseason as well.

This would be another dumb move. Not surprising since the same idiots are still in charge.

We need somebody with a proven record of success, otherwise we are better off just keeping christensen. Our biggest need coaching wise is oline coach and linebacker coach, maybe also an assistant head coach to take the load off of gase who is obviously in over his head at this point.

This is going to sound terrible.. but I don't really care. From what I understand, Christensen has been responsible for quality control.

The quality has not been good.

    Slightly left of center
I said this yesterday. An assistant who is a veteran DC with HC experience would be a good move. I mentioned Del Rio and Jim Caldwell. Who else you got in mind?

Who were his quarterbacks those years you listed?

FWIW, I can't find anything confirming he's taking Christensen's position. Armando only speculates when he says his position is "up in the air".

    Edit:
    2013 - Jake Locker/Ryan Fitzpatrick
    2014 - Brian Hoyer/Johnny Manziel/Connor Shaw
    2015 - Josh McCown/Johnny Manziel/Austin Davis
    2016 - Matt Barkley/Brian Hoyer/Jay Cutler
    2017 - Mike Glennon/Mitchell Trubisky

The guy hasn't had an above-average quarterback for more than half a season (McCown 2015).
