According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, wide receiver Chris Hogan made the trip to South Florida for tonight’s game against the Dolphins, and could return.

Hogan has missed the last four games with a shoulder injury, and was limited in practice last week.

If he’s able to go, it would mitigate the loss of Rob Gronkowski, who is serving his one-game suspension for his elbow smash of Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White last week.

The Patriots left three players home who were on the injury report, leaving defensive end Trey Flowers (rib), special-teamer Brandon King (hamstring) and running back Mike Gillislee (illness) back in Boston.

Hogan was third on the team with 33 catches for 438 yards when he was injured in Week Eight. He was tied for the team lead with five touchdowns at the time of the injury.

Reports have claimed that Hogan will still be doubtful to play.

To me we need to be very aware of their Rb's out of the backfield, that's their best chance at a mismatch with 2 of their best pass catchers out.

Pats have a way of finding a hero. Miami needs to prepare for it all.

I really like their offseason pick up of Burkhead, thought he would be successful coming out of Nebraska, could care less about Gillesie, thought releasing him was the right move, Dion Lewis is always dangerous..

If hogan whips our *** I may go down to davis and fight Burke..

Obviously they will prepare for everything, but a little extra attention needs to be given on the RB/LB matchup they are sure to exploit.

those Backs have ran for close to 200 a game last two games, including the last game we played, and they're not only gashing teams, they are getting breakaway runs. The fear and the defensive alignments to stop the pass is making them have dinner on running the ball

This is why you pay the DL what you do. They are going to have to win their matchups vs the OL.

There is a reason NE is the hardest team to beat in sports, they are constantly attacking your weakness and keep you second guessing every move you make.

we need to do that. Lineup some dudes in the slot and do the same damn thing. Bell had like 9 catches last night for 80 yards. Do the same thing for Drake. Those are chain moving plays or gets us in manageable situations

The scenarios look too complicated. It helps that we play the Bills and KC, but need Oak, LA and Baltimore to falter. TN will clinch because of their div. That's a crap load of teams to overcome.

If Miami wins tonight, there is a decent chance they could win out, but even then the odds of getting into the playoffs is very slim. Too many teams ahead of us and some like the Ravens have pretty easy schedules.

The Bronco win is misleading, as they are a very bad team.

One other thing: I want to see an aggressive defense. No dropping back and letting Brady pick and choose where to throw. Make him uncomfortable with some hits and see how it goes. So what if we give up a quick TD or two? Letting the Pats slowly march down the field while their defense rests is a losing strategy.

I like your thinking in the last paragraph. Gronk is out and you just have to have a helmet on each WR/TE. I am all for sending an extra/pre-disguised blitz. If you sit back and let him survey, you lose. At least this way, things are rushed and you can always at least get a hit on him.

They need to put helmets on Brady. Hit him and hit him often.

We can tie with the Chargers as we own the tie breaker. If we beat the Cheifs, we own that tie breaker and they look in free fall mode. The Raiders need to win the division or tank heavily. We need Baltimore to win the division as we own the tie breaker with Tenn, who play the Rams, 49ers and Jags which they easily could lose 2 of 3 or all of them. It's not that hard of a road. But it all starts with the win tonight.
