I don't agree with that at all. Once the punt is blocked and the punter is pursuing the play to make a tackle, he's no longer considered a punter, is he? Because how is a guy supposed to even know? They just see opposing bodies running down the field and their job is to block. If that was a correct call, then all kickers/punters should have to wear alternate jerseys like they do in soccer for goalies. Heck, let them support breast cancer all year long in pink!
Trevor Siemian's passer rating was 30.5, which gives an NFL team almost no chance of winning, and I didn't see any evidence to suggest it was due to the Dolphins' defense, which prior to the game had been surrendering a horrendous 105.7 opponents' passer rating. Not a game to feel good about in my opinion. Anything but a lopsided victory would've been a disappointment.
I did not want Parker coming out of the draft and he has been a bust so far... and he is just not that good.. I’m ready to say goodbye to him... take that hot garbage elsewhere
So you're implying that he would have had a 30 passer rating if the Dolphins defense had not of taken the field? Of course the defense was the reason his passer rating was so low. It's crazy to think otherwise. However, I don't think this game was some jump in play by the Dolphins defense. Although, maybe they can get back to their first 5-6 games of the season form and this was the start of that.
If you didn't see any evidence of our defense playing well, then there's really nothing else to say here. I will correct you though with one additional stat- he had a 3 passer rating when throwing to Howard's side of the field. A three. I'm no math expert but that seems a whole lot different than 105.7. But maybe you're right- 3 and 105.7 may mean the same thing.
Just an FYI, from an old debate regarding Parker, just because your tall, that doesn’t make you a #1 WR. Let this be a rule of thumb for everybody.
That’s where Parker should be... his draft status is keeping his career alive.. many other players have played BETTER and lost their jobs.
What tells you it wasn't simply Siemian's ineptitude? If a middle school quarterback took the field and achieved a passer rating of 10, would it be because of the Dolphins' defense (which prior to yesterday's game had played extremely poorly), or his own ineptitude?
I can say the same thing. If you didn't see evidence of Siemian's ineptitude, then there's really nothing else to say here.
And let's not consider different QB's, poor o-line play etc in the evaluation of Parker. I'm on record of being pissed at Parker a lot. I even said that he's closer to a bust than elite right now. However, his play, thus far, has been about average for his position. Do I want him to play better? Of course, but calling him a flat out bust based only on where he was drafted his ridiculous.

He's not a very good one, but to think that the defense played no part in his play is extremely obtuse. Siemian is a career 80 passer rating QB. This puts him at just below average considering that average passer rating is around 84. (cbrad, correct me if I'm wrong I'm going off of memory)
Nah I had no expectation for Legedu. He was never good to begin with (neither was Parker) but so many wanted this guy out of the draft simply because of his height. He has 2 catches for 10 yards total in the past 2 weeks... he sucks
He’s played bad enough on a lot of occasions to get benched too. His draft position and our depth won’t let that happen though. Most teams, he is a WR #4 in his 3rd year out of the draft. It’s embarrassing
He has 3 games with 1 catch. He has 6 games with 4 or more catches. That is not even true this season.

I didn’t say the defense played no part. I said I saw no evidence to suggest that it was responsible for how extremely poorly he played. Obviously there was a defense on the field, and without one he would’ve played much better. But what I saw personally was that he had an extremely poor day due to his own ineptitude and unforced errors. I don’t harbor any illusions that Miami’s pass defense suddenly went from one of the worst in the league, to one of the best in the league.
