Chances Gase might see value in bring McCoy over to play a role on his staff?

Gase was McCoy's right-hand man for some time and McCoy gave Gase opportunities in preparing Gase to succeed him.

This would be a good opportunity to get the playbook out of Gase’s hands.

But you're right, JE hired VJ, and now McCoy is taking the hit.

To be honest, I thought at the beginning McCoy would be the HC of the Donkies before the year was over and VJ would be fired, guess that's not good for us, as we'll end up with a worse draft pick than the donkies.

well we should go 2-4 at best (meaning bad) for us. I can see us beating Bills once and Denver. Let's hope Tyrod comes back.

This is Elway's mess. Dude completely whiffed on replacing Manning, and they are paying the price now. Their QB situation may even be worse than ours, which is impressive.

That said, I would be totally in favor of bringing McCoy asap.

Lol elway should have fired himself for replacing Peyton Manning with the stable of dog crap they have at quarterback right now.

What did he expect McCoy to do with the hand he dealt him?

It's true that Elway hasn't found a good replacement for Peyton, but if I were a Broncos fan I'd be so happy to have Elway as GM. That man hit a home run in convincing Peyton to choose Denver in the first place, which catapulted the Broncos' offense to league best or 2nd best for 3 consecutive seasons and gave the fans tons of exciting wins and lots to cheer about. Oh yeah.. he also built a fantastic defense that won them a SB. That's an experience alien to most Dolphin fans today.

So Elway is a GM I have respect for because of that. Can't say the same about our own FO.

It’s hard to replace a QB like Manning. Look at us since Marino.

We would have just as bad if not worse results, not because of McCoy, but we don't have the intelligent players a system like McCoy brings in....

The saying around here, meaning Denver where I live, is they are going to dumb it down as far as they can....

well I mean you have to take some swings while your at bat, only top qb Miami has taken picks wise was RT, we took jake long as a #1 in 2008 with Matt ryan sitting there, it all comes down to draft picks and trying to hit HR. but I guess Pennington was the savior that year lol

Yes, but the problem is and the exact reason Kubiak was let go is because of the lack of playing time Paxton is getting.

He had ample opportunities to beat out Semien and Semien keeps winning the competition, I know this is rare for dolphin fans everywhere but almost all teams have qb competitions except.......... lol

Gase = I like this guy so he's starting lol

He left for health reasons. I can see the point that maybe he was pressured to do so for the reason you list ... but the dude legit has health problems. He had a heart attack or something like that with the Texans. HC is incredibly stressful and has insane hours.

This is from another post on another site back in Jan, I have a friend in the Broncos Organization, this was told to me at a party I was at...This is what I posted....

"Looks as if Elway wanted Brock in the games last season after PM had issues, yea, yea Planter Peanuts I know, but that was mostly all BS, Elway wanted Brock to play the SB....

But Kubiack didn't want to go to the SB with Brock, he wanted PM....So when they played SD it's said he held back to make Brock less effective, then put in PM, and PM won...

Now who in there right mind would say at that point that Brock starts...Elway was very unhappy Kubiack corn holed him...

Now this year Elway wanted Paxton to play out the season, yea, yea left shoulder injury to Trevor, but wasn't bad enough to keep him out...Kubiack said screw it and played Trevor, upsetting Elway to no end, on the 23rd Elway told Kubiack he was finished after the year, and was very specific about playing Paxton...fast forward to the last game, everyone was told Paxton was the QB of that game, Elway demanded it, or at least for the second half.....Kubiack had a huge lead in that game and basically told Elway to shove it up his *** by not playing Paxton...

I believe Kub made the right call for the SB, even though PM had a terrible day he made a couple changes in that game that Brock would have never made

Paxton, don't know how he'll pan out, but as I said earlier that what ever coach comes in here MUST get Paxton ready to play ASAP...Also there's most likely NO WAY a veteran coach will take a job under Elway because of what Elway demands, if you look at the interviewees you'll notice none have HC experience....

Elway is to demanding on who plays and who doesn't, doesn't rub for a veteran coach.... "

Reminds me of the movie "Moneyball" where the coach wouldn't play the guys Brad Pitt wanted, so he traded them all. If he was really sold on Paxton and not Trevor, that probably would have been the best move.

Yes I agree, also it's known that when Elway drafts a guy, that guy is the starter....not sure that's %100, but I know there's hell to play when his drafts are on the sideline.

This is exactly why no experienced coach would interview with the Donks, why they took a DC that was one of the worse at his position and made him HC.

Also know that VJ didn't want Wade because he thought Wade's performance on D would over shadow VJ as a HC. Tidbits...

Miami could have had Wade twice now, blew it both times. Instead we took a terrible LB coach and made him DC....fools....

If we had a realistic shot at signing Wade and failed, that is not good. But I question how much of a shot we really had. Was there any interest from Phillips?

Payment is interest. But, more on the Wade/Denver signing since you're interested.

Denver had an interest in signing Wade, Wade/Elway connection has been there for years, but wouldn't commit to signing Wade, Wade finally told Denver to crap or get off the pot. We could have snagged him at that point, as well as when VJ let him go last year.

What I can't say and have no knowledge of, is did Wade have any interest in signing with Miami, but come on, money talks...

Money does talk, but is far from the only factor. Especially for an old guy like Wade, he may value certain things way more - location, personnel, etc.

Point is simply to say that just because Denver cut him loose, does not mean we had a realistic shot at landing him. However, if made absolutely no overture, then yeah that was a huge failing.
