If Miami wins more games, it will be tough for them to draft a qb, if they choose that case. I am looking at the following teams needing qb's by record 1. Clev 0-10 2. NY G 2-8 3. Indy 3-7 4. Denver 3-7 5. Miami 4-6 6. NYJ 4-6 8. Wash 4-6 9. AZ 4-6 10. LA 4-6 11. Cincy 4-6 12. Buffalo- 5-5 I have eliminated SF for now. Not sure what tie-breaker Miami loses or wins. Jax could use one too, but they may make the playoffs. Indy may wait.
at a $15M savings, I think Miami has a dilemma. I also would be in favor of drafting a qb here. Reason being, is if we had planned around this injury more, we wouldn't have been the trainwreck we are. Plus The salaries get ridiculous now and the savings sweeter
But don't you think they have bigger issues on the team? Gambling on a QB in college seems like a bad problem to create considering: 1. The current starter took us to the playoffs. 2. There are other glaring holes on the team. There's no guarantee the kid you get from the draft will be an improvement over Tannehill.
there were other needs aside from DE too, and they took one that's a bust. Listen, you want to change the complexity and dynamics of the team? You do this. Go talk to fans of LA, Philly and Hou
Miami will draft a QB but it will but be their first round pick, probably not their second or third either, depending upon who's available.
let's not forget, being outside of the top picks or so, it is still possible to make the trade like Philly did or Chic did.
by the way, I think with a potential manageable salary, I think Tannehill could be traded to one of the teams above too
it is the model franchises should look up to. They rebuilt in less than 2 seasons. you will be amazed with an upgrade at qb, how your Oline problems magically disappear
I see this as an option too, but do the Giants or Browns trade for RT? to swap us picks for Baker? knowing Miami they will take the kid out of Wyoming thinking it worked for eagles and we will have a paxon lynch situation lol
If we end up with a top 5 pick and/or one of the top QB's falls to us I wouldn't complain if we grabbed him. If RT comes out on fire next season it wouldn't hurt to have a great prospect to groom and if we never use him, do like the Pats and get a couple of draft picks for him later on.
with us needing to distribute money to other areas, paying that salary for 1 year is ok, 2 not so much
How are you calling any pick from the last draft a bust already? I assume you are talking about Harris who has actually been pretty good so far. He hasn't gotten the sacks yet but he has pressured the qb plenty and been disruptive. So far this last draft class has looked pretty good.
are you a kansas fan? so he grabbed his nuts big deal they refused to shake his hand, this whole thing about him is ******ed the guy can ball!! don't you remember we drafted a guy who had a video of him smokin out a gas mask? what about the offensive line coach? key word there...LINE!!! and grabbing his sack makes him an idiot lol
klahoma QB Baker Mayfield arrested in Arkansas Feb 25, 2017 Jake TrotterESPN Staff Writer Facebook Twitter Facebook Messenger Pinterest Email print comment Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield was arrested early Saturday morning in Arkansas. He was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and fleeing, according to the Washington County (Arkansas) sheriff's office. According to the preliminary police report obtained by ESPN.com, a police officer was flagged down to take an assault and battery report at about 2:29 a.m. Saturday. The person who flagged the officer was yelling at Mayfield, who told the officer he had been trying to break up an altercation. The officer asked Mayfield to stay so that he could take his statement, at which point Mayfield began "yelling profanities and causing a scene," according to the repo This kind of **** concerns me.Reminds me of manzel. He has had to apologize already 3 times this year for doing dumb ****. Just imagine this guy with all the temptation in south flordia.
it doesn't concern me all that much, you deal with this stuff with any kid in college really, and the temptations of the nfl are everywhere these are 22 yr old or younger kids who get handed a free pass and millions of dollars just need to try and see where his head is at. the kid can ball there was stuff about winston and cam too they did but its just part of being a top tier player in the Heisman race. the god like aspect hits them early when you know your going to the nfl, just think how you would act knowing you were going to the nfl and gonna make millions and you played at OU? Hes a god and a big man on campus which is bigger than most cities. kids will be kids ya know?
We can certainly roll with Tanny another year, but that is going to be a big gamble. Look at the way guys like Goff, Wentz, Watson and Prescott have energized their teams. Even with Tanny doing well, it just never seemed we had that energy. Yes, we have other holes - but every team in the league has holes. QB play is the best way to wallpaper over many of them. I just didn't see Tanny really do that consistently. Feel free to disagree - I know statistically last season he was pretty solid, but is that our and his apex? Ultimately, I think you (the FO, whomever they may be) needs to seriously evaluate the top passers in this draft. If there is one they feel can be a Wentz, then we need to pull the trigger and move on. If not ... at that point you can gamble on Tanny.
Thats what i really want to know deep down is miami really certain Tanny is the one to lead to the promise land? or are we going to waste time on someones hope and or bad decisions again? im with you i dont see RT being anything more then another qb to fall off into the abyss. but another year wouldn't hurt unless we can make a splash at the position.
The problem I have is you **** up once thats fine. But you need to learn from your mistakes. This clown is not getting it.3 apologies in 1 season?
when there is no consequences for your actions when your a high profile lottery pick, that's what you get. just young kids who can do whatever they want. Now when they get tot he nfl and they mess up then they have issues.
Just so everyone knows, the first tiebreaker in the NFL draft for teams with identical W/L records is strength of schedule. Right now there are 6 teams with fewer than 4 wins, and there are 9 teams tied at 4-6. Problem is, we play the AFC East twice.. and the AFC East has the 2nd most wins among divisions with a 4-6 team (AFC East actually has the 3rd most wins overall but the NFC North doesn't have a 4-6 team), and we play the NFC South which has the most wins overall. That means that currently we're probably drafting at #13 or #14 just by eyeballing things. So we're going to have to lose more than the others down the road to have a realistic shot at top 5 pick.
exactly the hole league is SH!T and we are going to wined up with the same run of mill picks we always have, with that said that's where in lies the GM's job to make moves and move up knowing what we need, if its a qb then go get him, if its a RB then go get him. If you feel your fine then ok but just dont settle for your pick and take whomever.
I think there is a real possibility that this team loses out and ends up 4-12 on the season. I think their best shot at another win is Denver, but beating the Pats, Bills, or KC seems out of reach for this team right now.
rosen is a bust he reminds me of Jay cutler. He has arm strength but cant make easy throws alot of times. i have season tickets to ucla so i seen many games. I have been wrong before but he doesn't have it between the ears for the NFL.
If we end up 4-12 or even 5-11.. that for me will completely nullify any goodwill Gase earned from last year and I'll probably hop on the "fire Gase" bandwagon. Remember, we started 4-2!!
Thats why we are in this current state. Because we always try to play it safe. Instead of going after a high prospect you rather bring back a guy that hasnt accomplished much at this level.
exactly if last year was RT ceiling then why are we even having this discussion, its been 6 years and how much longer are we willing to keep trying for his ceiling to stay at last years mark or less
In RT's last 8 games before he was hurt he averaged a 103 passer rating. This puts him in the top 5 for passer ratings last year.
