This year, this year the QBs (at least according to Gase) are not the problem. Tanny wouldn't have been, Moore was limited to one game against our nemesis, and Cutler looked like a problem but Gase insists he's not. This year, hell Gase is saying the oline isn't even the problem. His beef is with someone else.

Moore knows the plays. He's not fresh from another team. Working with the first string has literally no bearing on the lie you're trying to push. Does the QB know the plays or not? Can the QB read the opposing defense or not? Those are the only things that would dictate if the offense was dumbed down for the QB or not.

If Thill was the reason, then we'd have seen a different offense when Moore was in. We didn't.

 

He did suck at catching the ball. My 15 y/o has better hands than Ajayi.

 

I've watched him in isolation out of the backfield and Jay runs terrible routes..just terrible..

he's a bit stiff in the upper body so getting his head turned around seemed to be a problem for him..

no excuse for not being a good pass protector when your a good athlete.

 

I think maybe you're confusing Ajayi for that other Boise St. back Ian Johnson (who was really good at catching balls).

 

Personally I think anything he brings to the table after contact is negated by his poor vision. I haven't seen many backs with worse vision hitting a hole.

 

its starts with route running to create space.. Jay was not good at it...stiff in the upper body, upright style, not conducive to gaining separation against NFL caliber players...in college your not going against the same athletes in his conference, so I'm sure the scheme and the caliber of athlete he was going against made catches easier...at this level, you have to take your route running seriously out of the backfield..staying low in your route and using deeks, excellent footwork and sharp cuts to separate....no..jay was not doing that.

 

I wouldn't say his best routes are with him heading upfield, I don't think he's very deft at getting his upper body and head turned toward the qb while his body is going upfield..to me he seems only consistent catching the ball when he's completely facing the qb and a still position, when he's running toward the sideline, or running upfield and has to turn to get his hands in position is where he struggles....running and catching at the same time is not his forte..

I would say he is below average as a pass catching running back..

 

It’s very simple for me. Gase only went 10-6 because of Ajayi. He didn’t even feed him early on. Now that his team is falling apart and has the worst offense in the league, he’s using Ajayi as a scapegoat.

I would get rid of Gase before I ever got rid of Ajayi. I never even wanted the guy. We’ll all see how things shake out through his time with us.

 

What’s Suh done for me to label him a diva? You don’t have to go far into the past to find an example. He’s known as the dirtiest player in the league for a reason.

 

The operative word is “carried,” as in past tense. I’d rather hold onto him knowing his potential than dump him for a late 4th rounder. Since when is it a good idea to sell low? We only spent a 5th round pick for the guy, he went to the Pro Bowl and I’m the one having a knee jerk reaction?

You're wrong. He says he knows as much about the offense as anyone NOT on the team. That is an insult. Praising him first is what makes it backhanded.

 

How is that an insult? He’s a great defensive player that isn’t on our team. Great defensive players identify weaknesses in offenses and take advantage of them.

 

....with our 3rd string QB, our top receiver out, and two of our top linemen out. So even though you have a RB that does whatever he feels like, you're supposed to design more plays around him to try and get him the ball in space? I think the better answer is investing in players that invest in the team and play with that "next up" philosophy.

The more time I think about this, the more I'm convinced that getting rid of Ajayi was the smartest possible move. I guess we'll find out this coming Sunday though.

Defensive players study opposing teams’ offenses. Eric Weddle is a 4 time Pro Bowler. It was a compliment.

Those two are not the same. A diva is a "look at me, I'm the best" attitude, like Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson or Terrell Owens, usually a skill position on offense drawing as much attention to himself off the field as he can. What Suh does(and what I like about this defense) is between the whistles. You don't hear them bringing attention to themselves except through their play only. The team defense is physical, some may call it dirty, but in no way would I call it flamboyant or attention seeking. They play hard, fast, and to the whistle.

 

So when he stomps on Rodgers or chokes Mallet because he’s frustrated, he’s not being a diva? He clearly can’t handle his emotions and acts out at his team’s expense the same way your typical WR does.

The fact he keeps saying that is not a compliment going on a year now crack me up. He's saying Weddle is one of the most knowledgeable people in the world, outside the team, about his offense. If Peyton Manning took apart our defense and Gase said the same thing, it's obviously a compliment. These guys crack me up. If Bill Belichick says Zach Thomas knew the Patriots offense better than anyone not on the team, that's an insult? I'm dying here. That is so ridiculous it's funny.

And that's why he ignored, "Yeah that's why Eric is who he is." Who is Eric? One of the better defensive players in a while, that's who. HOF? Not sure, but damn good. He is who he is, because he's good. He knows the offense because he was in their division.
