It wasn't JUST because of Tanny. Tanny very well could have been a part of it, including everyone else. The Coaches told Gannon before the game last year, Tannehill struggles with progressions. So their plan was take away his #1 on each play (often Landry) and make him go through his progressions.
Weddle then said what he said (and Gase notably didn't defend him as he did earlier in the year).
Then Jimmy Smith after the game told reporters they were successful in confusing Tanny, and he couldn't tell if they were in Cover 1 or Cover 2.

The reason for pointing this out? The Ravens are well coached, even if they lack some of the horses they need to be the best. They figured out Tanny and Gase. There is no guarantee year #2 under Gase, even with Tanny under center, would have produced better results. With more film and more games, the rest of the league could try and figure out what the Ravens did, etc.

You would think, that with a year under their belts, Gase would turn the offense up a notch. Especially with smart guys like Tanny, Landry, Ajayi.

Oops. Turns out Landry and Ajayi are effing up.

Remember, it's not like we went ultra simple when Moore came in last year. Offense looked the same, or even more complex with Moore under center (according to people who know more than me).

It's obvious at Gase's presser that it's some of the skill positions he's pissed at. Would Ajayi and Landry both be playing like crap still, if Tanny were here? If so, then the offense would still suck and it has nothing to do with the QB but these two (and maybe other) entitled jerks.

First of all, this whole thing about him complaining for more carries is all hearsay. We don't really know what he was complaining about if anything, maybe he was complaining about the type of running plays gase is calling (too much inside zone and not enough outside zone which suits ajayi better). Maybe he was complaining about the blocking.

It's not you or gase or who has to run into a brick wall every play because the line cant block or because gase continues to run it into stacked fronts.

Ajayi was taking a beating and working his tail off for this team. The real problem is gase and his ego. I am sure ajayi is ecstatic right now that he is going to Philly and getting out of this ****hole organization called the Miami dolphins.

I have said it once and I will say it again. The problem with the offense is not ajayi, it is terrible playcalling by gase and terrible blocking by the oline.

Until we get some quality guards and until gase gives up the playcalling and/or let's the QB audible we will continue to suck.

    It's not hearsay...

And if you watched the games you'd see that while yes, the play calling and blocking isn't perfect...there are bigger issues.

And once again, Gase gave up the play calling..

gase giving up play calling is "hearsay" you have provided no proof and someone with no play calling wouldn't have a play sheet full of "plays" with him. if he doesn't call 100% hes calling over 50% and they all suck.

I guess your not paying the best WR in football... cuz Antonio Brown doesn’t have game breaking speed or throw it up size... thank goodness your just a fan... too many fans have this idea you have to either be at least 6”3 or run a 4.3 40 time to be a number 1 because the 2 best WRs all time Rice and Brown both could do neither... but keep thinking that... what do Julio Jones, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, AJ Green, Dez Bryant (there is more of these guys too) all have in common? A COMBINED ZERO SUPERBOWL WINS!!! Get your minds outta the gutter

I kno bro... if he goes to NE we will be seeing a version of Julian Edelman on steroids that only Julian Edelman could wish he was (this being Jarvis Landry in NE who I have no doubt would take Edelman’s job too outright) and all these fans who are rippin Landry will be eating serious crow... at LSU, Landry was doing a ton of downfield work... but he got drafted by vanilla Miami and they clipped his wings to the extreme and our organization has no cajones to think outside the box so what do you expect?

There's more evidence for what you're arguing against than there is for the claims you're making.

You guy's have literally invented this idea that this is driven by Gase's ego, and not Ajayi and his attitude and work ethic.

The more and more I read I don't understand how these so called "professionals" cant find a medium and agree on what would work instead of taking their ball and going home. which I kinda think gase did. There really is more than 1 problem in ajayi know what I mean?

Well, given what we know from last season and this season, it certainly seems that Gase has been trying to work this out. Even sending him to Philly...he didn't try to screw Ajayi.

At some point a coach gets rid of a good player because it's just not working.

I just cant see it worked last year now after 7 games its "just not working" seemed like some spoiled brat underlining's. Most people don't make trades at the deadline who aren't contenders which is why im surprised jimmy G got traded to the 9ers. But I guess if you can get your guy get him at anytime you can. know what I mean.

I think that was a good move by the 9ers. They will get around an 7 game auditions for Jimmy G to see if he is there future QB. I’m surprised that NE didn’t get more for him. It seems like NE gets whatever they want.

From just looking at the situation from last years Seattle situation, to him being traded, it kinda adds up..

Jay seems to be a nice guy on camera, but there seems to be issues with this dude..

I liked the draft pick, but can we think of one pass reception where he made a great play and run? almost like he became one dimensional, and it seems like defenses caught up to what style and what plays he likes to run...he loved to stretch it outside then work his way back into the scheme, but defenders starting last year, started to flow and fill.

He is a competitor, I have not heard any complaints from teamates, It's just gase that he rubs the wrong way.

I have absolutely no problem with ajayi, all I see is a major competiror who played harder than just about anybody else on the team.

Just because he wants the ball and freelances once in a while is not enough to justify trading away one of the best running backs in the league.

I would have been much happier if gase traded away the entire oline or relieved himself of playcalling duties and allowed the QB to audible.

Those are much bigger reasons why this team is terrible than trying to scapegoat ajayi's "attitude".

do you think he's been above average in the pass catching dept?

does he run good routes out of the backfield?

    does he have good hands?

is he a good pass protector?

does he have specific run plays that he prefers over others?

Ya, you'd think if he wanted to be among the game's elite RB's he would've worked hard at the receiving aspect of his game. Hell - he didn't even improve in pass pro.

He's a dying breed of running back that don't last long in this league anymore.

Guys aren't being objective about this. If they were, they'd see how limited ajayi was, and how he was not helping the offense. The oline sucks, yes, and it's also why its extremely important that you be able to contribute in the passing game AND pick up a blitzer. Can't do those things, plus you ignore coaches, pout, freelance, and don't study?

    There's the door.

Something had to be going on behind the scenes for him to get traded. Add the knee issues and the short expected shelf life of a player like Ajayi and it really isn't all that surprising that we sold well....semi high on him. A fourth round pick seemed low to me, but whatever, maybe Philly threw in a fun sized snickers bar and we just couldn't resist. I just feel bad for those that recently dropped a hundred on his jersey. I was on the verge of buying one myself when this happened.
