This team has the lowest ranked offense in the league. Lower than the 49ers, Browns, and Colts. We had a cokehead as an OL coach. You really want to put this on Ajayi’s talent?
Some of you have no idea what has gone down behind the scenes regarding Ajayi. This wasn't a stupid move I you knew all that has gone into this. He wasn't going to be here much longer given what has gone on already and likely would have in the future.
You're going to get hit with a "Join the Club", just a warning. Lots of good info in there, from the likes of it. I can't afford to join this year, but plan on doing so come draft season. Of course, the posters on here do a great job at enticing us peasants in the mains
I can go much further with it than that as that's part of deal of being privy to that info. I can just say it isn't good.
doesnt surprise me. Reading the stuff coming out today about him not studying and then him complaining even after wins about not getting the ball enough shows what kind of player he is. That and the benching in the first game of the year last year.
Ajayi is not useless in the passing game. He is a good receiver as he showed in college and as he has shown in glimpses with the dolphins. Yes he had a couple of drops this season but so did every other receiver on the team. The problem is gase only tries to get the ball to him on predictable short flat routes with the defense covering him like white on rice since they are always crowding the Los with defenders. Until gase opens up the offense and stretches the defense so they stop stacking the line this team is going nowhere. The offense has been figured out, the problem is gase, until he adjusts the game plan we will continue to suck on offense.
been saying this for weeks now, even if you throw 3 deep balls in a row and punt you have to get the defense away from the LOS to run, he wont do it, its easy to protect slants and bubble screens while guarding the run, its simple football and I don't get it.
That Cleveland got a 1st round pick for a young running back that wasn't as accomplished as Ajayi and our front office was only able to get a 4th rounder. It is there to show our front offices incompetence.
I would love to see the back who can get out of the backfield on this team, especially last week. I'm happy for Ajayi though. I just read that Landry is on the block in case it hasn't already been brought up. I guess if you trade Ajayi, everyone is on the block.
And that is never going to happen again. Ever. No one thought Indy made a good deal. Every one thought that was one of the dumbest trades ever.
Question remains - why wasn't he traded this past offseason? Was it really just the last 4 weeks that were THIS bad or did they kind of always know?
I don't disagree, but Ajayi is much better than Trent, I think we could at least gotten a high to mid 3rd, maybe even a second.
I do not agree. Lamar Miller was signed to a contract that was worth a 4th round pick. 4th round pick seems to be the fair exchange for a runningback. Adrian Peterson was just traded for a 6th round pick.
In all fairness the saints just wanted Peterson out, they had 2 good backs already, in this case Miami has nothing. Peterson isn't a shell of himself so that's fair for him at this stage of his career.
So, you think there were 2nd round offers and Gase just said, "Naw man...I like Philly so I'll take their 4th"?
This is why I compare our system to the Broncos in spirit. It's about taking those yards and turning them into consistent good gains. Until that team breaks late in games. A good O line helps though, but look at the players they made great. Mike Anderson, Portis, Davis, Moreno, and now C.J. Anderson. A good system can make good players great. Ajayi is not Barry Sanders. I am fine with making a trade just not what we received.
I heard philly asked about Gore before ajayi, so im wondering what the colts asked for for gore prolly the samething but ajayi was a better option for the same pick.
Another thing i find odd is the move came so quickly. There was still 6 hours or so before the end of the deadline and they didn't even try to shop him around for a higher pick.Looks to me this move seems more about emotions than what is in the best interest of the team. O well whats done is done at least Landry is still here.....for now.
I personally don't think they tried to trade him until very recently, I could be wrong but it all seems rushed to me, I hadn't really heard any Ajayi rumors like we have with Landry or Suh. At the end of the day if Ajayi wasn't buying into the system, I suppose I'm ok that he's gone, but I have a hard time believing that the best we could do is a late 4th. As I type this Kelvin Benjamin just got traded to Buffalo for a 3rd and 7th. I feel like if we were trying to trade Ajayi for awhile now we could've done much better.
He still has to pass a medical for the Eagles. We will be lucky if we get the 4th. There is a reason he fell in the draft.
Benjamin was a 2nd round pick though, Ajayi was a 5th round pick. I think, when looking at trading a player on their rookie contracts, you look more at draft capital.
I haven’t heard of him having any surgeries or being injured since being a Dolphin. Sounds like BS fake news to me. How many 200 yard games did he have on those “bad knees”. You’d believe anything Gase fed you.
Hahahaha. So either I have to love Ajayi or I believe anything Gase "feeds me." Hahahaha. Obvious troll is obvious. Or...it could be that I had doubts about the guy from the beginning--you know when it came out that he has very bad knees? I think Gase can be a good coach, or he may be a bad coach, but we don't know that yet.
