Gase is a complete failure as a playcaller. He has the most predictable and vanilla offense in the league right now every body knows we mostly run short rinky dink plays and try to run ajayi mostly on inside zone because that is the only thing gase knows how to run. They are stacking the box to stop the run and the short routes and blitzing our horrible oline play after play and gase has made zero adjustments he just keeps running the same crap. I have said numerous times and I will say it again we should all be picketing at dolphins headquarters asking gase to turn over the playcalling to the OC and also to allow the QB to audible at the line. Unless we do that you can pretty much kiss this season goodbye.
Gase needs to be fired at the end of the season. I hate giving bad coaches a third year and then firing them halfway through next season. Which we’ve done the last two times and wasted another season on a bad coach. Also get rid of tannebaum and Grier. Get Jim Schwartz in here as the coach.
There is no denying that Gase is a shlt playcaller. This guy is NO GURU like we were sold. I’d give him 1 more year but with the stipulation that he doesn’t go anywhere near the playbook. It isn’t just this game either; it has been all season. There will be moments that look good but this fvcker reverts back to pop-warner calling. Everyone wants to call about last year but they forget that old fist bump Tony made the playoffs his first season too.
Calling for Gase's head? WTF? Last night was ****ty, but how fickle are you to want to dump the head coach after one terrible game?
Let's not forget that Gase won 10 games last season with a team that was arguably worse, and despite the Ravens debacle we are still 4-3 on the season. Let's also not forget we lost our starting QB about 10 minutes before the season started. That would destroy most teams in the NFL.
This happens every time year after year, when the Dolphins play a physical team the Dolphins pack up and go home early. I guess Irish tap dancing is tougher than I thought....
LOL, I was going to suggest this was the first game D25 has watched...but thought the same thing as you.
I'm still not happy we lost to the Jets, but I wasn't expecting much from this season after Tannehill went down in camp. I do get tired of those screens to Landry, but dude is on his 3rd QB. Also a lot of resources went into the defense this past offseason, and Gase is left with the rest. Give him a break.
He's a bad coach. The fact that he won't stop calling bubble screens when we can't execute them is just one example.
We had an offensive line coach with the worst offensive line the last two times. We also had a very good defensive coordinator who we used for the rooney rule who is turning chicken **** to chicken stew in NY. i had the jets picking first overall yet theyre in every game so far this season...
I couldn't agree less. He's forced to go to these simple plays because the blocking won't allow anything else.
We have the worse O in the League, I would have to put Gace a little higher, almost Tunsil High, on that list, you take what you have a design a plan, last night we didn't have a plan.
Bull**** dan, the blocking doesnt work for the bubble screen either. You don't keep repeatedly calling a play that has never worked since he has been here going back to last year. You can fault the players for some of those failures, but when it fails every single time you have to blame the coach for either not designing and coaching the play properly or for not coming up with something else. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
But those plays were getting blown up EVERY TIME because the formation showed what we were doing. It was the same on run plays...or disorganized line was trying to block too many people and someone almost always had gap coverage coming from the 2nd level. The fundamentals weren't there...the basic X's and O's. I'd say Gase was at least 50% responsible for the loss because we were never in a position to win. Think about this- Ajayi's first run was 21 yards. It was a run off the left guard, yet he reversed field and turned it into a sweep to the right. That means he had no blockers except a single WR....he did that all on talent alone. Yet Gase never called a play similar to that the rest of the game...it was all up the middle with linebackers blowing up gaps. Almost EVERY failed run play was on Gase...our linemen often blocked properly and there was another body on D to plug the gap.
Where the f do you get that gase isn't calling the plays? Are you on the sidelines or work with the dolphins to know something no one else knows? According to all available public information gase calls the plays and does not allow audibles.
I really don't care what our record is at the end of the season; Gase should be fired. When we win, we win in spite of him. For a guy hailed as an offensive genius, it sure seems difficult for him to put points on the scoreboard. This is NOT a reflection of one game, it is a reflection of the entire season. We may have the 31st ranked offense, but I assure you that the level of talent that we have is not 31st in the league. His play calling is not only puzzling, but it is obvious too. That is a bizarre combination. Everyone knows his MO 1st and 10 - run for a 2 yard loss with Ajayi 2nd and 12 - bubble screen for a 1 yard loss 3rd and 13 - 5 yard pass to Thomas 4th and 8 - bad punt by Haak I think that our line is certainly bad, but between Pouncy, Tunsil and James, there is enough talent that we should not be atrocious. Ultimately, my problem with Gase is that he doesn't get the most out of his offensive talent. He doesn't scheme well at all. Think about this. Look at the year Joe Philbin was fired: Dolphins 17 - Redskins 10 Jags 23 - Dolphins 20 Bills 41 - Dolphins 14 Jets 27 - Dolphins 14 At least in the "golden age" of Philbin we were putting up points. I really do think that our roster has improved since Philbin, and we are getting less out of it. Gase should be fired. Talk to me after our next win, I will tell you that he should be canned. I do not care what our record is at the end of the season.
CORRECT, for someone who doesn't call plays he sure as hell has a big play sheet in front of him, hes 100% calling plays DAN COMMON!!!! oh and I may add he sucks at it. we literally look like someone playing madden 2002 using only 3 plays to try and score before all the hot routes and audible came into play lol hahah
I agree I just hate getting new coaches all the dang time, I wouldn't mind getting a good OC and letting gase stay head coach I like his ability to roll the dice and go for it and what not. I think the line sucks because of the type of plays being called, I forgot which sack it was but it was in the third qrt and I wanna say it was like 3rd and 6 or something around that (I was working on a new 30 pack at this point so sorry for my memory), gase called a route where 3 wr went 15 yards down field, now answer me this if he watched the game like I did Ray Charles would know they were going to bring pressure why in the hell would you call a deep route passing play right there? just one play that stuck out of all the bad ones.
Rock meet hard place. Call a play that you KNOW will get the QB sacked or call a screen where it's a good chance nothing will come of it, but there's a chance to get something.
do we not have a play action screen or a miss direction screen? seems like everyone has them but us and with 9 in the box usually its successful
Maybe that's the problem no one is calling it? if hes not calling it why did Moore go up to him and they were talking about plays on his wrist band?
