No wonder the OL is a dumpster fire. Can him and find someone who takes his job seriously.

I totally agree. The Oline is a Crap Fest. So, we're now able to expediently fire the O-line coach and put in someone else? Where's my confetti???

There was a Tweet earlier saying that the NFL world was reeling a bit with the news because apparently a number of teams had been heading hunting Foerster, he was viewed as a great coach. The Dolphins had been blocking interviews.

Just a quick moment to reflect on this. I don't know if Foerster was married or had kids, but if so, then his actions have cost him a lot more than his job, and have hurt a lot more than just a football team. No excuses. His stupid, stupid choices, but man this is horrible.

If doesn't have a family, then that's a small mercy. I hope he gets himself sorted out physically and spiritually.

    Wow. Thoughts on seeing this:

    1. I've met highly functional marijuana smokers, functional alcoholics, etc. but functional regular coke user? That can hold down a highly paid NFL coaching job? Now I've seen it all. But this probably explains a lot.

    2. That's a lot of coke he just did. Especially for someone his age. That guys ticker can't be in good shape.

    3. Pretty greasy for this girl to post that, with suspect reasoning.

    4. I wonder how many other coaches around the league are sweating bullets after this. Hopefully there aren't any other Miami Dolphins coaches who have an 8 ball a day habit and videotape themselves "skiing". I guess we will find out if Kaepernick quickly gets signed with Miami...

Well, the coach resigned this morning so it looks like the video is legit. I guess that's the types of folks you hang out with when you're snorting coke with hookers....I put the wrong two and two together. =)

If you think about it, players get randomly tested throughout the year, but not the coaches. Maybe it's time for that to change. There's no excuse for that type of behavior in the NFL.

Wtf? Great coach? That tells you how ****ing clueless the NFL is in general. I had been calling for us to fire this guy even before this video came out. He has been mediocre his entire career. Last year's running success was all because of ajayi breaking tackles lefta and right. It wasn't because of any great coaching by this loser.

I honestly don't care. If a guy wants to do cocaine with an escort on his free time, it is none of my business.

Where I am from, calling people "son" is fairly condescending but I'll assume that you are from a place where it is okay and dignify your post with a response, if for no other reason than to get it on record that I have no interest in drugs or sympathy for those who go that route.

You could not be further from the truth about excuses. Pill, cocaine or any other substance, he is clearly getting high, has a drug issue and decided to take video of it. This leads us to what we see now; humiliation for himself, most likely his family and of course the Dolphins as if they don't do that often enough anyway. Sorry that you mistook me passing along what I read as making excuses, I really don't have any cocaine experience so maybe that is what he is using. Something I read this morning said the larger pieces falling may mean it was a crushed pill so I passed that along as a possibility for clarity only, not as an excuse. Do you think snorting pills is okay? Your post indicates that you do. As for me, I consider drug abuse drug abuse whether it is a prescription pill or cocaine. I was in too much of a hurry this morning to post the link, (getting the family ready to go out for a nice Thanksgiving Monday hike on the coast - Canadian Thanksgiving). I didn't really think a link was necessary for an opinion or that anyone would interpret it as me being an expert or an excuse-maker for drug addicts.

FTR this is my opinion on the matter, globally: I am glad he has resigned, regardless of the offensive line's play. I think he is an idiot, but I hope he gets help as I hope for any addict, but I don't know him so I won't lose sleep over his problem. I have not spent a penny on this organization since the last scandal and have backed waaaay off on my general enthusiasm about the Dolphins since then. Still a loyal fan awaiting the time when clowns like this guy are no longer the caretakers of this team. Let's just say I believe their **** trickles down and this thing comes as little surprise to me. That is not to say that I think other coaches are necessarily doing cocaine as at least one poster has said here, I just don't see the coaches and players as anything more than typical people in glorified positions. They are anything but superhuman in my eyes so when I see proof that a coach is doing something as stupid as this, I accept it as easily as I would accept anybody else doing it. These guys just aren't that special to me.

Not really- they're both drug abuse.

For example, I had a root canal a few years ago and the dentist gave me oxys. I got perkasets for another injury last year. I pulled a muscle in my back a few months ago and got muscle relaxers. I might have taken 3 or 4 pills total from all this stuff so they're still laying around in a drawer somewhere- I hate taking pills for anything.

Anyway, since they were prescribed to me legally, you think it's okay for me to crush them all up together and get high as a kite? Maybe it would technically be "legal", but it's still drug abuse either way.

You just admitted I was right, bro. The legality is the difference. I'm not saying it's right - weed is illegal and alcohol is legal, and the legal one is deadly and weed isn't.

I wouldn't even care if this guy did Coke on his own time as long as he didn't fall in love with a hooker, record his use and set the team up for extortion.

If he has a public apology, I bet he's going to say it was a prescription.

I don't know if it's legal though- that would be interesting.

    Edit-

Okay, here's what I found after hitting a dozen or so health forums where people asked that exact same question (Is snorting my prescription legal?) It sounds like the law varies state to state, but pills are highly regulated and designed specifically to be taken orally. There are special ingredients in there that are meant to interact with stomach acids so if you snort it, it can be very bad. Also, I read that snorting Class II substances requires a fraction of the dosage and it's not recommend because it's highly addictive.

Some states have laws saying you can only take medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Others don't have direct laws but prosecute under the Federal statute saying that if you use a drug in any way other than it was indented by our doctor or the manufacturers, it's a crime (think chemists buying Sudafed in bulk to make meth...as soon as they combine it with something else, it's illegal). What I couldn't find was Florida law on the subject.....so I don't know.

It is technically illegal on the Federal level though and your doctor would have to drop you as a client to remain in compliance with their licensing to keep from getting in trouble themselves. From what I read though, it sounds like the doctors get in trouble more than the drug addicts do- pretty screwed up laws.

Yeah, theres no way a doctor would continue to prescribe you if he/she knew you were snorting it. I figured that much.

I've worked with cokeheads chefs. Coke night give you more energy, but it destroys your ability to focus on small details, even though the user feels the opposite.
Given the hours coaches work coke or meth would be the drugs of choice.

Okay I'm not going to get into the personal name calling stuff that is too prevalent on this board anyway, but did you watch the video? He talked constantly about getting high. Whether they are his pills and he has multiple Doctors somehow over prescribing or whatever his scam is, he is abusing the drug. If there is a difference in your mind between abusing drugs he is getting from Doctors and abusing a drug he buys from whoever sells cocaine, or whatever else it may be, keep kidding yourself. Like I said, drug abuse is drug abuse for me. I think it's a problem no matter who you get the drugs from.

And you wouldn't have to care. It's just that I wouldn't call you a ridiculous name for having a different opinion than I have about it. I am fully aware and at peace with the fact that plenty of people have different opinions than I have about getting high, or approve of it on or off the job. I would respectfully disagree, but not disrespectfully.

I'm simply pointing out not all drugs are equal. You say drug abuse is drug abuse...is smoking weed the same as shooting up heroin? Are mushrooms the same as cocaine?

The pharmaceutical industry isn't perfect and I wish people didn't abuse their prescriptions, but I don't think you know much about the "war on drugs" down here. There are kids getting decapitated, human trafficking and other messed up things down here that go along with cartels smuggling drugs. Buying cocaine supports that indirectly.

I think it was pretty obvious all those were abusing drugs yet doctors kept giving the prescriptions.

Snorting, abusing same difference, yet people continue to get the drugs, most often from doctors.

You named 3 cases over a 40 year span. I'm not trying to be a apologist for doctors who overprescribe.

I'm saying there's a difference between a junkie abusing his medication and a junkie buying Coke off the street. That's it.

When tiger woods toxicology report revealed opiates in his system, people probably would have felt different if he said he was on heroin rather than Vicodin.

If you wanted to get into a serious conversation, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have started off by calling the other person, "Sir buzz killington". Not a super insulting name or anything, just kind of ridiculous. That doesn't tell me you are seriously pointing anything out. Could have been interesting, but I just try to avoid that stuff, so I'll just step into a different conversation.
