Remember how the secondary was playing off the defenders? Well this story indicates that at least for Maxwell that wasn't the coaches' call, it was his, and if he doesn't get with the program he'll be watching from the sidelines. An odd picture of this team is emerging. It might explain Gase's frustration, but is some of it his fault? Who knows. I hope not. Either way, though, he has to solve it.
This is so stupid because Maxwell is at his best when he's playing press coverage. He's screwing himself big time with this BS.
Maxwell's been a rental since he was signed, that's going to be a welcome 10m off the books in the offseason. He has not been the problem so far this year, but Tankersley is the future. He shouldn't fret too much, the 3rd corner will get plenty of reps too, plus injuries etc.
PFF MIA Dolphins @PFF_Miami #Dolphins CB grades/ranks (out of 111 qualifying CBs): Bobby McCain - 71.3 (51st) Xavien Howard - 39.8 (96th) Byron Maxwell - 39.2 (100th)
Yes, but he hasn't been the reason we're losing games. We're losing because of our offense, or lack thereof.
Timmons (Superbowl winner) and Maxwell (Superbowl winner) both having issues with the coaching staff is not a good thing because if guys like that question the way things are being done around here, they can compare it to "how things were done" in Pittsburgh or Seattle. That may matter to the other guys in the lockeroom and may create a bit of doubt when we are struggling. That **** is like cancer. Gotta cut it out fast before it spreads. Fortunately no Superbowl winning player on the offensive side has had any issues with the coaches. Actually, I don't think we have any Superbowl winning players on the offensive side, do we?
The super bowl winners of two has beens is overstated... neither are close to being the best players on defense... reshad jones seems to be playing just fine, so is wake and suh
