Yes. Without going political ... let's say owners changed their minds about him. I'll be fair, they weren't all that hot on Kaepernick anyway, this isn't a Drew Brees type hitting the open market. His market was a bit limited by his skillset and play. But teams have dog turds at QB because it's so hard to find talent there. Now you have a guy, fresh off surgery, no offseason, off the bench, play to the point he's at 65% and 95 passer rating at the end of the year with a 51/1 TD/INT ratio, with crap at oline and WR, and all of a sudden it's not political it's just his play? Sure, man, sure.
Would CK be any worse than old man Cutler? I think not. Get him. Read the riot act and put the jersey on him. Play offs with a rubbish SF team showed he's got something. He's got the players support as well now.
I'm asking you to provide evidence for your claim that Gase was upset with Tannehill. Heck, provide evidence that he was unhappy with Moore. Provide evidence he was unhappy with Cutler. The most simple explanation is that he's sick of garbage oline play. Oline play is singlehandedly responsible for the majority of the problems on offense. You inserted your opinion, then got all dramatic when I pointed that out. I didn't insult Moore or Cutler. I made accurate statements about them.
Actually I agree with Fin-O here based on watching this video: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-sp-dolphins-sidebar-20170925-story.html First of all, he says "last 2 years" multiple times, not just once, so I'm guessing he really means his whole time here, not just the first part of last year and the Jets game. Then this quote: That "skimming back" comment includes all 3 QB's because that was in response to a question about instituting a hurry up offense, and we never successfully did that with any of the 3 QB's. He's just frustrated he can't implement the type of offense he wants with the players he's had so far.
What you fail to realize here Cbrad, is that Gase was crossing his fingers when he said "last 2 years" that means he meant everyone BUT Ryan Tannehill. How dare you suggest otherwise.
The sad thing is, you actually think this is a valid post that makes sense. No need for me to reply. Carry on.
it was a joke taken personal obviously, and your talking about 6 of one half a dozen of another, in my opinion they both shouldn't have a starting job, cap is not as good as your claiming he is a backup at best a one hit wonder if you will and its about time you and everyone start realizing that, and cap would have a job if he didn't think he was worth Mathew Staffords contract hahahahah
what you aren't realizing is just because tom savage is starting does not mean cap is the right fit for Houston, cap has a certain set of skills he has to be in the right system, you cant throw all QB's in a system and they will work that's why a lot of QB's fail (IE. Osweiler, Cassel) I think if a team was in dire need and all their QB's got hurt he might get a nod, but the mere drama it would cause not knowing if it would be a success for "all" teams in need isn't worth it. IM sure if the right system needed a qb he would have gotten a call. cap is unemployed for the mere fact no one knows if he will be a success and the politics and drama is too much for someone who isn't going to take you to a super bowl or a long shot to do so. Like I've said a 1000 times you should know your place in the workplace just because you want to go piss in the hall way doesn't mean you should it might affect your job and future jobs.
Yes. He can't install his offense if the oline can't do its job. You guys understand that the oline has been the biggest problem on offense since Gase took over, right? You understand he could be unhappy with the offense, but not unhappy with specific players who are actually doing their job, right? It was clear at the beginning of last year that other players than Tannehill weren't familiar enough with the offense to run it smoothly, and it was scaled back. Didn't stop the narrative here from being about Tannehill. So, if your assertion is that he's unhappy with specific players on the offense, please provide evidence of that.
Never forget, the offense turned around literally the very next game that the worst guards in the NFL were cut, but that had nothing to do with it, as it was all, you know, footwork, magic and pixie farts.
Sorry res. Fin O and I are just taking Gase at his word. Gase blamed the entire offense, he didn't blame primarily the OL. You're the one reading "primarily OL" into what he said. So it's YOU that has to provide evidence he meant OL. And as I pointed out in the post you quoted, when Gase talks about not being able to install a hurry-up offense, the player most responsible for that on the field is the QB, not the OL. Anyway, no need to go round and round. You have your mind made up. But what you assert isn't what Gase actually said.
Didn't change a thing otherwise right? Same schemes? Same plays? Same approach? Just switched out the guards?
True....he did start listening to Thill more and got him more involved with game planning and allowed to audible. You were saying?
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...djustments-helping-tannehill-dolphins-succeed But it won't be the first time you are wrong.
This stupid bs again!!!!!??!?!?!??!?!?!? This has been debunked a number of times yet you still lack the integrity to stop bringing it up. Weddle isn't on the team. Gase addressed this and by sniping that Weddle knew as much as other people NOT ON THE TEAM. This is so terrible and pathetic of you to keep over and over selling this hunk of crap as evidence of anything other than your own extreme and sad bias.
Didn't he say it's not up-tempo if you snap the ball with 2 seconds left on the play clock? Hard to tell who that's placing blame on. How long is it taking Cutler to line guys up? Or.. how long is it taking for him to read the defense pre-snap once everyone is set? Or.. should guys be knowing where to line up, without Tannehill or Cutler taking a lot of time to give them explicit direction? No idea. How smooth did the Bears' up-tempo look in 2015? I legitimately don't know.
I'm not so sure that Kap is better. However, I did want the Dolphins to take a look at him after RT went down. I said before they got Cutler that Kap, at this point in their career's, definitely has the higher ceiling. Although, he probably has the lower floor too. lol
Cbrad, the offense was slowed down due to other players not knowing the playbook. That is fact. FinO inserted his opinion of Tannehill into his interpretation of the Gase quote. I asked for specifics. Got none. Typical.
That's the frustrating part to me. Last season it was expected to be a slow start while everyone gets comfortable in the offense. That isn't a valid excuse this season. All these guys know the offense now and we shouldn't be this inept.
What evidence are you looking for exactly? What's going to make you happy? Adam Gase standing there saying Pouncey Stunk! Parker Stunk! Tannehill stunk! You're never going to get that from any coach really. I think it's pretty obvious that when Gase says he's tired of seeing his offense like this for 2 years... he's only been here a season and 3 weeks (2 games) now, it's pretty obvious that he's referring to EVERYONE. Including the QB's... which includes Tannehill. He's clearly frustrated that we haven't been able to run a hurry up offense, he's upset about scaling things back last year, and apparently this year as well. It's safe to say he's including everyone. I'm not sure how much more evidence you need, or what you're looking for. What I saw and heard yesterday is a head coach, who's frustrated, irritated, and fed up with his entire offensive group since he's been here. That's the OL, the skill guys, and the QB's. If you cant run a hurry up offense, how isn't that on the QB? It's up to him to get the play in, get guys in position, make sure they're where they need to be and get the play off. Sure, maybe the OL or a WR is confused where to line up, but that's of course on them, and on the QB to get these guys lined up and ready to go. It's guys missing blocks. It's guys not running proper routes, dropping the ball, missing a throw, missing a read. It's EVERYONE. Everyone on offense, includes the QB. I'm not sure what argument you can make that its not, I'm not sure what evidence you're looking for other than Adam Gase saying "Yeah, so yesterday, in my rant. I was mad at everyone by last year's QB." It's pretty obvious to look at his statements yesterday and safely assume he's pissed at the entire unit, and likely his staff as well. I'm not even sure why that's being argued. Maybe, I'm missing what's going on here, but that's how I see it. He's holding everyone's feet to the fire on this one, and given his comments Sunday, that includes himself.
No he didn't. In fact Gase said he even went as far as including Thill in the game planning. The only person that said Thill couldn't audible last year was a defensive player on a different team.
I also recall Gase saying on multiple occasions that "Ryan got us in a good play". I also remember Ryan changing the play on Ajayi's touchdown run against the Jets last year. Not sure why this is still a thing.
If Gase meant everyone but Tanny he would have said that. He's not one to play coy. He hasn't been able to run his uptempo offense the way he would like with any of the QB's nor the rest of this personnel. Only time things worked is when it was all scaled back.
From his recent quotes I don't think he was including anyone or excluding anyone. It was an overall assessment. I can look at a woman with a great body and a butter face and call her ugly or call her hot. Depends on what I'm referencing. Gase didn't reference any single thing. He referenced the "offense" which is comprised of many different things. I don't think anyone can infer anything in regards to individuals.
what I'm saying, Brandon, is that Tannehill was, according to Gase, getting them in the right plays last year, but was hampered and his rhythm slowed... which can reasonably be attributed to him having to get other players into the correct positions. Tannehill played at a high level last year, so, i don't think attaching him specifically to Gase's comment is accurate. Again, the offense as a whole can be a mess, while still having a couple players actually doing what they are supposed to do.
You have nothing to argue against! Adam Gase made the comment. If you want to believe that comment is for everyone besides Ryan Tannehill then have at it. Nobody would expect any less. You have some form of PTS when it comes to these talks. If you get an inkling of anyone criticizing Ryan, you go bananas! Its creepy.
You have a weird habit of overstating things. I've not "gone crazy." My issue is you singled out the QBs, who aren't even remotely the biggest problem on offense. You, however, have been insulting and condescending.
No. Stop. Your issue is that I mentioned Ryan Tannehill with the other 2 Qb's. If I would've been silly enough to ONLY mention Cutler and Moore? You would've LOVED my post. Was Adam Gase specifically speaking of the Qb's when he said the Off was "garbage"? Nope. But was he excluding them and freeing them from fault? Hell nope.
You obviously thought my post is a slight against Tannehill, because whenever someone says something not unicorns and rainbows about Tanny you fly into a fit of rage. Let's recap: We were discussing changes after game 4/5'ish that brought success to the team. You argued it was because of getting rid of guards. I ask, didn't they also make some changes to the offense? You argue, and I quote: "True .... and allowed to audible." Since we are talking about changes made AFTER game 4/5'ish that resulted in the success of the team, your agument is essentially Tanny was not allowed to audible before game 4/5 and Gase changed that, and allowed him to audible starting game 4/5'ish. So that's your argument. I only included Weddle's statement for context. Focus on what Gase said. What made things easier? What is Gase addressing when he said "it made things a little easier?" He allowed Tanny to audible more so it made things easier than just running up to the ball and trying to get the perfect play? That is your argument? Anyone who comprehends just a little bit of English knows that interpretation is nonsense. Ignore what Gase said about Weddle. What is the "it" that Gase says made things easier "than just running up to the ball and trying to get the perfect play?" It was allowing Tanny to audible? That's your answer?
Did they continue that (bold) or did they make a change? Fin D is raging because he's arguing Tanny was allowed to audible MORE after the first few games.
