For the #Dolphins and #Bucs, they share a bye week — Week 11. That is when the game will be played, at Hard Rock Stadium.

Well at least TJ McDonald will be eligible to play.....

Should cancel that stupid London game then.

Things like this show how little the NFL cares about its players.

It's BS, they could have done something differently if the NFL wasn't so inept.

Bucs, Pats, Denver, Pats, Bills, Chiefs, Bills to end the season...

4 Divisional games and 3 teams that are Super Bowl favorites in our last 7 games.

Now Irma will most likely turn north and miss Florida all together....Which I hope it does, but the winner here will be the pats and Bills facing a very tired Dolphins team.

If they can win 3 out of their last 7 I'll be amazed.

That's a great point. That is a huge positive for us. We should be focusing on stuff like that, instead of being whiny whoosies. The season is here. The cards have been dealt. Are we gonna man up and dominate? Or whine and cry about it like losers?

    I already know where I stand. #NoExcuses2017

    So is Doug Martin.

But we went from McDonald out for Bucs, Chargers, Jets, Saints, Titans, and Falcons.
Now hes out Chargers, Jets, Saints, Titans, Falcons, and Jets again. Better having him out Jets twice

We need McDonald against the Bucs. They are gonna be pissed off for losing their bye week and out to prove just like we are.

I know, I am agreeing that I rather him play vs the Bucs than the Jets.. Just saying its a double edge sword because Doug Martin is playing vs us now

I don't think folks understand what is about to happen with Irma- just ask anyone who lived through hurricane Andrew in south Miami. Irma is about 50% stronger than Andrew was when that storm was in this exact position, which puts it's damage right outside the eye around the level of a nuclear bomb.

The topic of conversation shouldn't be how the league screwed us- we should be talking about if Hard Rock stadium will still exist by this time next week. There's a real chance that we're looking at 16 road games this season.

It's true. It did happen to the Saints after Katrina: no home games that season because of damage to the Superdome.

On the plus side, Hard Rock Stadium is apparently built to withstand a category 4 hurricane:
    http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article171178192.html

But "withstand" doesn't mean there isn't any damage. I'm especially looking at that canopy and wondering how that's going to stay intact (truss structure should have no problem.. so the stadium almost certainly will still "exist" after the storm). And you don't need much damage (e.g. tiles flying away) before home games are canceled.

First off I wasn't complaining about the hurricane, because I don't think its any laughing matter, secondly I merely stating the nfl is a joke for making a team play 16 weeks straight.

I've changed my tune on this. People are evacuating or preparing for a storm. No one has time for a Fooseball match.

The change really hurts the Dolphins shot at competing this year. But if the team is good it won't matter.

Well, there's another side to that people don't realize. Category 4 is 125-135 MPH winds, which you're getting 100+ miles out from Irma's core. So no matter where she ends up going, Hard Rock is taking the maximum designed abuse for a good 3-6 hours straight. The thing is though, NOTHING can withstand +150 MPH sustained winds unless you're building it with reinforced rebar columns 12 feet below the ground and spending around 3-5 times the build costs. It's just not practical for the average building- a 1,000 square foot home would cost $300k to build.

So what does that mean? With a direct Cat 5 hit, nothing remains standing. Nothing. I saw it firsthand in Andrew as I worked in South Miami after the storm with a chainsaw- there were 10 mile residential sections where nothing stood more than a foot tall (besides rubble piled up afterwards). This could easily mean no Dolphins games in Miami this year, no fans there to watch the games, no TV stations to broadcast, etc....Irma could literally be a once in a lifetime event that takes years to recover from.

I love the Dolphins as much as anyone here- but I'm more worried about personnel and their families than I am seeing a football game. Anyone who is ranting over the Dolphins season or their fantasy teams getting messed up are very shallow human beings; we are talking about communities having their entire lives destroyed (no house, no job, no food, no gas, limited medical help, no power, etc.). Maybe you have to live through a category 5 hurricane to appreciate the situation, but football is far outside the realm of things to be worried about.

We will likely be playing a couple games in marlins park this season. The Miami beach bowl gets played there every year. Marlins arent making the playoffs so itll be ready for October.

That canopy is going to get damaged. We will likely be without a roof again if we get a direct hit from the storm.

Marlins Park? What makes you think that barn won't be flattened and the Marlins will have to go back to the Teal Tower?
Marlins Park is much closer to where the storm will hit land.
