Looks like they are also trying to move wide receiver Jermaine Kearse.. More a player or need for us, is CB. Be nice to get one that we can count on and is a hole filler and not another temporary position that we are looking to fill next year... Don't know about Lane just that he was a starter for Seahawks and thats tells me he'd be a possibly large improvement for us..A hole we need to fill...
Per Rapoport, cornerback Jeremy Lane and running back Alex Collins are also being shopped. Lane, a 2012 sixth-round pick, has spent the last five years in Seattle and made a career-high nine starts last season. The team drafted Shaquil Griffin in the third round this year and recently signed Tramaine Brock, which may be why they’d be comfortable moving on without Lane. Lane has a guaranteed salary of $4 million for this season and non-guaranteed salaries of $6 million in each of the next two years.
Think he will be cut...... Lane is really what Im interested in..... could be a nice pickup and like the Haden plan we could 86 Byron Maxwell for doe....wonder what Seahawks would take...
I don't know Lanes game but I do Collins..I'm only interested because we're hearing that the front office may want to add another back.. Collins has Bell cow fundamentals.
Mike Klis of KUSA reports that the Broncos are expected to release Ward if they are unable to make a trade with another team. The move would clear $4.5 million from the cap and save the same amount in real dollars, which Klis reports is a factor in the team’s thinking because it would provide money that could go toward extensions for players like kicker Brandon McManus and linebacker Todd Davis. That would be less appealing if the team thinks that they’ll be left shorthanded without Ward’s services, but Justin Simmons is thought to be ready to step into the lineup after the team got an extended look at him while Ward missed time with a hamstring injury this summer. The Broncos also have Simmons’ fellow 2016 draft pick Will Parks and undrafted rookie Jamal Carter, who Klis calls a “bigger version of Ward,” in a secondary that appears to be taking on a new look this season.
Lane is the shehacks Michael Thomas, sometimes great, lots of times kinda lost. He was coming on strong til he got hurt. He has upside but not going to a big improvement over what we have. Collins is talented but doesn't seem to have the drive to take him up a notch.
TJ WARD ONE THE BLOCKS FOR DENVER!!!!! that would be a solid signing if he is not to damaged with the hamstring. THOUGHTS!!!!!!
Lane is only making 4 mil this year and it's the last year of his contract. Shehacks may be looking to dump his cap so they can make a move for a LT or DE like Sheldon Richardson. They should be yacking with the Browns to make Lane part of a package for Joe Thomas. Trade the Browns Lane and Lacy or Rawls and a pick next year, 3rd would do it I bet. Probably take a 4th maybe conditional third to swap for Lane for us.
Surprise Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet 4h4 hours ago Unexpected move: The #Bills just cut RB Jonathan Williams, source said. Productive player, was slated to be their No. 2 RB at one point.
The Bills claimed Lafayette Pitts and Deon Lacey. The Jets claimed Demore'ea Stringfellow. Bummed we didn't retain Lacey, but he must not have been as productive in camp as he was hyped. Should be interesting to see how him and Stringfellow do.
