O and if anybody says the reason we would trade Ronnie Brown is because of his injurys. Are you kidding me. Have you heard of Fread Taylor he is one of the leagues best backs and he has a history of injurys.
I definitely can. The guy is an incredible talent, only thing holding him back from displaying it consistently are these freak injuries.
I'm waiting for the soap on this--"As The Dolphins Turn". We haven't had a week of any kind of good news and it's getting tiresome. I love this team and wish things would settle down...
What you kidding me? Fred Taylor is a probowler. Willis Mcghee is on of the best runing backs in the league. Duce Mcallistar is also a good running back. Duce McCalistar is a great combo with Reggie Bush.
Gore had to terrible knee injuries in college right? I would say he was better by 10 fold when he came back but not right away.
Huh? Fred Taylor is a perfect example on that list, as is Willis. Both played at or even better than before.
His best days are over what. No they are not they are just beging. All the reports I have heard from trianing camp are positive and how he is looking like the injury is not effecting him. He has only been in the league for 4 years. His good playing day are far from over.
Well said. I personally wouldnt do it because the drop off from Ronnie to the next back after Ricky is severe but like you said this regime is willing to pull the trigger on just about anybody if the price is right. Still I think you need two quality backs nowadays, especially if you're a run first team. Probably seeing if they can get a first rounder for him
The differences between Scheftner and Mort reports are that Scheftner doesn't really report what he thinks, but what he actually hears...Mort is generally opposite of that. That said, the thought that they'd trade Ronnie certainly wouldn't shock anyone...if they get an offer, they'd make the trade..they've shown that however at what cost would that be to the Fins come later in the season....we all know and I'm sure they all know that Ricky, is one of the better backs in the league...unless his head comes off and he goes on a binge again...he's proven over and over that he has issues with keeping himself straight...Would they (Tunaland and Sparano) really take that chance ?? I just don't see it...besides, they also love the idea of rb-by-committee...who is the committee if RB is traded ?? Patrick Cobb?? Parmele ?? Hilliard ?? I don't think so...
Isn't Mortensen the same guy who said Brett Favre absolutely would not go to the Jets? Why the hell would Miami give away their best player? Just don't see it. Not for a pot smoking loser who missed the majority of the last three seasons. No way.
This is Miami that we are talking about right??? Remember OGUN? Traded for a 3 month old mayo and cheese sandwich.
Really, this sounds so stupid. I know there are what ifs to it, and there could be a convincing situation put forth, but with the season right around the corner, i think they would all be too far fetched to even be considered. But you don't trade ronnie when he has yet to prove himself post surgery, it makes no sense. If they were going to trade him it would be after he increases his value by showing the surgery is not affecting him. He has the best catching ability in the backfield for any back in the league. THis is just stupid, i know what mort said was probably blown out of proportion, but Mort is usually better than that. I think the media just wants a story. Totally lame. I wonder if next weeks' story will include the phins are looking to trade Jake Long.
Good call Aqua BW is number 1, like ronnie just been proving it for years. My bad i got all heated by how stupid this mort report sounded. I would not be happy if ronnie was traded, even for a good return. So glad we picked #2 that year and didn't end up with Alex Smith in retrospect.
I have to agree with this and I've been saying this for a while now but Ricky Williams is a top 10 back in the league when he is playing. He is also not as old as his age says because of the years he spent away from the game. I still believe Ronnie can be the future of the team but the thumb injury last night has kind've pushed me to the edge of possibly giving up on Brown because the guy has a major problem with staying healthy. This is coming from a guy who used Ronnie Brown's name for his username here.
Missed my point what I was trying to say was there is always something. He has a serious problem when it comes to staying healthy.
This would be abso****inglutely moronic, I will never watch another Fins game until Parcells is a goner if this were to occur. Does Mort visit FH's zoo? Why turn a luxury into a weakness? And its a sprained thumb, why are people so worried about a minor injury?
This story is bunk on so many levels, I'm actually really disappointed in Mort for posting something like this. 1. Ronnie is coming off a serious injury and no team is going to give up anything of value for him, so it doesn't make sense. We invested a #2 overall pick in him and he is a young legit #1 RB when given the ball 20+ times a game, he runs with power, he catches the ball out of the backfield and he was one of the best RB's in the game during the 1st part of last year. No way we would get fair value for him right now and we shouldn't even consider it to begin with. 2. Ricky is not reliable emotionally, psychologically or physically. He hasn't played a full season in forever and he's getting up there in age (especially for a RB). Why would we sacrifice a younger and better RB option in order to keep Ricky who admittedly doesn't really like the spotlight and who has walked away from the game before? 3. Parcells and Co. like to run a 2 RB system, with Ronnie gone, who would be the number 2 guy? Cobbs? Does anyone here feel comfortable enough with him as our #2 back? Parmele? Hilliard? If Ricky were to get injured (a real possibility for a guy who has been away from the game for so long) one of them would be the starting RB. Is anyone comfortable now? 4. This seems to me like another "He isn't Parcells guy" type rumor and it's getting ridiculous IMO. Even if Brown was on the outs, this would be the worst time to try and trade him. This comes across as Mort throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks.
I agree bro. Why would we trade him now when he is coming of a bad injury and he just injured his thumb. Teams are not going to go after him. Even if teams do go after him we wont get equal trade value.
If this trade has a snowball's chance in hell of happening, then Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Adrianna Lima, the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders, the Miami Mermaids, The Miami Heat dancers, Giselle Bunchen, and Marylin Monroe's rotting carcass are going to walk though my front door naked.
