really don't care what buckling means in most people's minds. Knee buckling is the sensation of the knee being weak because of instability. It may actually be the body protecting the knee. It is not the actual injury. It is not the knee bending a certain way or anything. Knee buckling is just a sensation of the knee being unstable or giving way, causing the person to get off of that leg right away. Your mind gets a sensation that the knee cannot support any weight, and you go to the ground. It can be associated with hyperextension. "I saw him buckle and go down. There was no contact on the play," offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen said. "The initial reaction is, 'OK, next man up.' That's football. It's going to happen somewhere in this season. The game doesn't stop. You go on to the next play. And then, obviously, my personal thing is, 'Boy, I sure hope it isn't serious.'"
Can we combine all these "he's okay, he's not okay" threads? It gets confusing for people to keep up.
I agree. A year ago when Cowboys fans were anxious about Romo's possible return I did not see it happening (because for that most recent injury Romo was barely touched).
Because Christensen actually said he saw Ryan Tannehill put on a seat belt right? Again, you are operating under the wrong definition for the word buckle. You think it's the way the knee bends or contorts. It's not. Buckling means give way. His knee buckled. That's why he went to the ground. Buckle just means, my knee can't support any weight, I'm going down to the ground.
You see it right here. Clearest video I've seen. He does a little hop and lands on his left leg where he probably hyper extends it, then takes another step with his right leg, then left again and hits the deck. That's when his knee buckled.
Sadly this thread should now be deleted. Freaking IBITI whatever her name is on NFLN reported poorly.
