No way Lakers do that. They'd be crazy. Trade 2 for something else and then just sign PG

Dragic and Winslow for KP is more realistic than that happening bro.

I don't think it's crazy. If you trade for George you are ensuring he is a Laker long term. That's worth the #2 pick. If he gets traded somewhere else you risk losing him. I'd rather take the sure fire superstar.

I can't see any way in which the Knicks get Jackson without giving up KP.

So basically the Paul George thing is down to the Lakers and nobody else.

I guess Miami will be making that hard push for Gordon Hayward.

I'm worried about the damn Celtics. How far have we fallen since the big 3 era that I'm worried about losing Gordon ****ing Hayward to Boston...

Lakers trade Russell and Mozgov to Nets for Brook Lopez and 27

    Lopez is an expiring.

CSN Chicago says Butler will not return to the Bulls. It's either Cleveland or Boston for Butler.

Dwyane Wade opted in. He's staying on what should be a truly awful Bulls team.

Like that trade for the nets. Lopez is injury prone and probably not getting any better. Russell is still an ascending player. And no one is going to the nets anyway so the salary means little.

Why would Phil trade away the ONLY thing he has ever done well as a GM....drafting Porzingis.

If Lakers can shed Deng, they will have close to 2 max slots next year.

    I think they're back.

Also, let the Mozgov and Deng deals be a cautionary tale for Heat if someone goes nuts for JJ or Dion

I love what those guys did, but....

He left his legacy and entire life behind for that money. No way he was giving it up.

Maybe he'll take a buyout towards the end of the season

Pretty sad ending for a great career for Wade. I expect him to announce that it will be his final season this coming year... or he will agree to a buyout midseason and sign with the cavs

Bit of a gamble from the Lakers. Draft picks are nice but they're no guarantee. Not sure I get this move. Lopez is no future building block. Russell could be. And for a 27th pick?

Spurs might be up to something. According to Woj Pau is declining his player option but still intends to remain with the Spurs.

David Lee too, although his cap hit is low.

    Are they maneuvering for someone?

They don't care about Lopez or the pick.

This was about clearing cap space for George

They really think they can pull LeBron and George?

You know, for all the hype the NFL draft and off-season gets, the NBA off-season seems genuinely more exciting. I guess smaller squads means it's more likely individual moves will have bigger impact.

That seemed to be the sentiment via the writers. That PG is gone and it was always gonna be the Lakers.

I don't see a move for a PG. They look like they've got something in Dejounte Murray. All signs are pointing in the right direction with him. Additionally, the Spurs' overall cap situation lends itself to them having a lot of room in one more year. I don't think they sell the farm for an aging PG in CP3 or even Lowry.

I'm not sure what this might be but I don't think it's a point guard, unless it's to retain Patty Mills.

Of course, if there's a solid talent willing to take a bargain deal, then all is up in the air.

That wouldn't make much sense to me. I don't think he's a good fit in Boston and that might take them out of landing another star unless the Knicks took some contracts back. And any other team drafting that high should be in rebuild mode, not looking to overpay for an aging star. I really don't think Melo's value is anywhere close to what you think it is. Maybe I'm way off, but I just can't see that at all.

Interesting on the Russell front. I had a feeling he could be had cheap if they were taking Fultz or Ball (I brought this up a few weeks ago), and he was. They get to dump Mozgov, though, so it's a good deal for the Lakers too. He needed a fresh start.

that injury prone thing is a myth to me, he played in 70+ games the last 3 years and 4 out of the last 5

  33. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Lakers do not care if Brook Lopez is injury prone or not. They care about the big expiring contract they get, and the additional first round pick that they can turn around and swing to Indiana for Paul George.

Sad to see D'Angelo go, but his motivation has been in question since day one, and if they are all in for Loonzo Ball, then he had to go.

If L.A. can somehow get out from Deng's deal, then they will have to be close to two max slots for next year. Assuming that Julius Randle and his 12 million dollar cap hold goes out in a supposed Paul George deal, then they will be players for seemingly any free agent next year, at least from a financial standpoint.

As a Knicks fan I hope he gets the hell out of the East after next season. He came back home and delivered on a promise and got that city a title. Mission accomplished. Now move over and get ready for the orange and blue to regain their form.

Playing out the draft it looks to me like the Heat are going to see which of the following falls to them at 14 overall:

    SG Malik Monk
    PG Dennis Smith
    C Zach Collins
    PF Lauri Markkanen
    PG Luke Kennard
    SG Donovan Mitchell

It is conceivable that all of the above are taken. But it would be tight, since there seems to be zero chance of PG Markelle Fultz, PG Lonzo Ball, SF Josh Jackson, P PF Jonathan Isaac, PG De'Aaron Fox, or SF Jayson Tatum falling to pick 14 overall.

If all those guys do come off the board, I think they're down to a decision on PF John Collins, SF Justin Jackson, PG Frank Ntilikina, PF TJ Leaf, SF OG Anunoby, or PF Harry Giles. I really don't know which of those they'd prefer.

Lol jerry west ready to make his mark... deandre is so expendable, without CP3 throwing him amazing passes what else is he good at? West probably knows cp3 is gone so might as well trade deandre and build around blake
