If I'm the Cavs I'm studying the hell out of Warriors/Spurs game 1 before Kawhi got taken out by ZaZa. They were about to beat GS after the Warriors had plenty of rest on the road at full strength by 20+ damn points.
Any thoughts on the Finals? Do the Cavs have a chance. To me it's hard not to pick the Warriors in 5 or 6. Cavs defense is bad and that ball movement style especially kills them. Just not disciplined or cohesive at all. Last year Cavs were able to muddy up the game a bit and go ISO and for whatever reason GS just struggled there. Now they have Kevin Durant, so... Only hope is this Cavs' offense is for real. Best OffRtg in the playoffs ever. If they are hitting threes and getting guys like Korver and JR going, maybe they can just score in bunches and get just enough rebounds to limit GS's offense while also maximizing their second chance points. Super interested to see Kevin Love in this series. He's much more athletic than in the past and has been playing decent defense. If he can stay on the court it would be a massive game changer - they need his rebounding and floor spacing. But odds of that happening are slim.
What type of defense will the Cavs be allowed to play is a huge factor. They allowed Cleveland to be physical with them last season and thats why they beat them. How much energy will LeBron use guarding Durant? Will Kyrie get the best of Klay again? Will ZaZa be the rim protecter (or close) that Andrew Bogut was? To me the Cavs MUST have good performances consistently from Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love or this series will be over in 5. I stand by my prediction of Warriors in 7. I don't think Cleveland loses game 6 at home but adding Kevin Durant to that squad will prove to be too much. Hope I'm wrong..
The more I watch this guy, the more I come to the conclusion that this is who I want the Heat to draft. They don't really have a need for a combo guard, especially if they retain Dion, but tell me he doesn't remind you of Dwyane Wade with an advanced jumper coming out of college. The height is a little worrisome, but his wingspan makes up for it. He's about an inch shorter than Dwyane and his wingspan is 2 inches shorter, but it's still an impressive 6'10''. I'm pretty surprised he's not projected to go higher than he is, but I guess that's just how deep this draft is.
I say give the Warriors the open jump shots, dont let them beat you inside.. theyre damn good at jump shots, but i would take a chance at them missing those shots instead of having lebron, kyrie or some other wing chase around the warriors wings... that's what they want you to do. Just play zone, dont let them beat you inside. On the offensive end just keep doing what youve been doing and the Cavs will have a chance to win every single game.
I like him. I was thinking about the possibility of trading up and letting go of dragic for Dennis Smith Jr around pick 8. That would save us around 15 million in cap space to sign our guys and Hayward. But, I really don't want to break up the band.
Section must not be interested in laying these type of odds vs King James. Guess I can't blame him Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
“But it just goes to show that racism will always be a part of the world, a part of America. Hate in America, especially for African Americans, is living everyday." -Lebron "take a boat and go back to your country" and "I'm trying to trust you but I don't trust your kind" -Lebron's Mom
No. Cavs best chance to take a game is in game 1 due to too much Dubs rest and game 3 due to desperation. I got the Dubs in 5. If you were looking for a team to exploit the Cavs weaknesses, the Dubs would be that team.
Not so. The lead went from 25 to 10 WITH Kawhi on the court. They were in full blown meltdown mode when he went out. They were gonna lose.
THIS. Even the line on Dubs in 5 is a Terrible line. I consider myself pretty damn good at finding value to bet in the NBA Playoffs, and am a pretty consistent winner. Even while melting down last year, I caught a middle. There is NO way I can see to make money this year. Laying that much is a bad proposition in the first place, laying that much against LeBron is even worse.
Cavs were down 3-1 last year. Losing that series was a colossal choke job. Now they added Kevin Durant and the Cavs have grown a year less hungry and lazier.
I'm not saying I disagree with your overall premise here, but it was a blowout when Kawhi went out. From NBA.com: http://www.nba.com/article/2017/05/20/san-antonio-spurs-kawhi-leonard-ankle-out-game-3-warriors-ap
Not my fault they made that line. Also not my fault you want damn near every bit of it too. What is a number you are comfortable with on Warriors in 6 or less, and in 5 or less?
Even Money on 6 or less? Done Deal. That +120 is way too lite. I can do twice as good as that on Bovada. So Warriors in 6 or less, even Money....Perfect. How Much you want to roll?
Yes. I'll give you +130 on $600 for the 5 or less however. Ur call Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nah. 5 or less is like +260 on Bovada. So Cool. we will go $300 (EVEN) on Warriors in 6 or less. You got the Cavs, or the series going 7.
Worst. Playoffs. Ever. I don't like either team. I just want competitive games. Even if the warriors sweep, give me 3 close games. It's a long way till football season!
Tell that to Van Gundy and Mark Jackson who were pointing it out on air. And of course they only shot 2 free throws....they played absolutely zero defense in the paint, just let em fly by and dunk it. The fact they were in it even at the half was shocking to me, they played horrible and GS played amazing. Sticking with my Warriors in 7 prediction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You get 10 FT's to your opponent's 2 in a quarter, you can't complain about officiating. As for playing "amazing"? They Did Not! They played sloppy as hell, and couldn't hit open shots. They shot more than 10% less than their playoff average and one of the lowest numbers in the last 4 MONTHS at 42.5%.
There is nothing that happened in that game to make me change my opinion of Golden State in seven. They have 31 assists four turnovers, Cleveland had 15 assists 20 turnovers. Neither one of those things are going to happen again in the series Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
except that....that's how these teams play. Golden State is #1 in Assist %. Cavs are 15th. That 3-1 series lead last year is who these teams are till....some interesting "things" happened.
If you dismiss Kyrie and Love being out 11 games in a series that went six, then blame a series loss and a blown 3-1 lead on Draymond Green missing ONE game!! Then you have an agenda. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If CP3 signs with the spurs, does that make it more likely Blake leaves, or less likely (to be the guy on LAC)? That would strengthen SAS and make the west even harder. Maybe Gordon would want the hell out.
Yeah, it would be interesting to see how that would impact Griffin and/or Hayward. You would think Blake would want to get out at that point. That team is going nowhere already. Removing their best player would mean they may not even make the playoffs in the West. Unless he just likes being in LA and doesn't care about winning.
I love the Dragon. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/page/presents-19522177/the-nba-most-profitable-play-not-dunk
That was an interesting article. I see it as a smart play rather than a cheat. Harden was the first master of it and probably still the best with his great quickness. I'm not a huge Harden fan b/c i prefer all-around players, but you have to respect his skill there. I've always loved players who play smart and think about their craft. Those are the guys that have long, effective careers. Shane Battier is one of my favorite Heat players due to his smart play. IMO their value is under-rated b/c they make the whole team play smarter. That's one reason I love Dragic and hope he stays here a long time.
The obsession is because Riley has raised a bunch of spoiled brat fans after delivering Shaq and Lebron the past 12 years. So now these Heat fans think the only way to win and succeed is to get the best players in the world in this team. Anything less is failure in their eyes. Fact is, Goran's contract is nice when you compare his production to others. Other fact is, Goran is better than Jason williams, mario chalmers, norris cole and any other guy we had at the 1 during our championship years. Bosh is gone, we have the resources and cap space to acquire a star player without letting goran go. He and Dion played very well together, why the hell should we get rid of that combo? We can address other areas like the 3 position and the 4.
