I think trading Parker would be a huge loss, but getting Richard Sherman would be a huge gain. http://www.thephinsider.com/2017/4/...s-trade-rumors-richard-sherman-devante-parker r leading up to the 2017 NFL Draft is the Seattle Seahawks and their potential willingness to trade cornerback Richard Sherman. With the Miami Dolphins lacking elite talent and depth at cornerback, there has been some casual discussion surrounding the idea of trading for Sherman, who has consistently shut down half the field during his time in Seattle. As Byron Maxwell is slated to make $8.5 million in 2017 before a bump to $10 million the next two seasons, the Dolphins may be of the belief that Maxwell needs to perform better than he did in 2016 before they’re willing to commit that kind of money to an underperforming cornerback. While second-year cornerback Xavien Howard projects to start on the boundary opposite Maxwell in 2017, Miami still isn’t 100 percent sure what it has in the second-round selection out of Baylor as Howard saw limited playing time due to injuries his rookie season. The only other current player on the Dolphins roster with any real experience playing cornerback on the outside is Tony Lippett; and while the front office seems high on the converted wide receiver out of Michigan State, Lippett was exposed several times in 2016 – most notably when it mattered most in the wildcard game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
There are three players' health that is borderline suicidal for me, Pouncey, Parker and Thomas. If those cats make it out of camp healthy, watch out. Just like the ongoing search for LB's, OL, and DL (and every position pretty much the last 20 plus years), Miami has a nice set of WRs. The have the best slot WR in Juice, they have a dude to take the top off in Stills, and Parker, on paper, is the Alpha. I think it is too early to give up on him, but the things is, right now his value is the highest. Another injury-plagued year will cut his value a lot. If he is that alpha this year, he could be the player that takes us to the next level, despite deficiencies on defense
It would take more than Parker. I posted before that with the Shehacks needs at OL and WR Parker and Pouncey would be a deal, from their perspective. And I would take that bet.
Sherman is unhappy in Seattle, I fear he could be worse here, he was having shouting matches with the OC(among others) of all people last year, he thinks he's bigger than the team it seems like. He's also getting old, he doesn't have great speed so when he loses a step, it may be all over for him. Iow, Sherman has his own risk factors, an aging malcontent.
Not to mention the difference in salaries between Sherman and Parker. This whole thing doesn't seem realistic. If Seahawks wanted to drop him so bad they would do it for lower compensation than a former first-round pick.
No way it'd take just Parker to land Sherman. Of course Sherman benefits from his surrounding cast in Seattle but he's obviously worth it. That being said, this won't happen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I find it funny that people are down on Parker, but believe he's valuable enough to be traded for dang near anybody.
This. I don't want Sherman anyway. 1. Parker is cheaper. 2. Sherman's arrow is pointing down. 3. Seattle's safeties > Sherman. if Sherman were so valuable he wouldn't be on the trade block.
