We overpaid for kiko, now have even less money to fill all the other holes. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
We're never going anywhere with Tbomb as GM, they just made him the 5th highest paid OLB in the league, and he's never played there.
And he is also the highest paid longsnapper. Why do you rank him as a OLB if he doesnt play there? He is a off the line LB, rank with any of them. Inside or outside is not that different anymore. Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk
So, just so I can get this right, you're saying that WLB is virtually the same as MLB? I'm not sure what sport you're watching.
I love the negative posts because 3 months after 10-6 with a minor league roster, Gase and Grier dont know anything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gase is a good coach, he is good at getting the most out of the players he has, that doesn't mean he is a genius at personel and contract negotiation. Tbaum sucks as GM and grier is not some genius either he has been a part of some major draft and free agency busts with the dolphins. Fact is we significantly overpaid just to keep some of our own mediocre players (branch and alonso) and didn't sign anybody in free agency that will really make a clear difference to get us to the next level (our best signing is a past his prime timmons). Next year is looking like we will be lucky to have a record above .500 at this point. Let's hope we can have a good draft at least. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
If you want to call him an OLB, he's actually around 10th highest paid. Overall LB he's about 13-14th.
Still way overpaid, he is not anywhere near being the 13th or 14th best LB in the league. And the worst part about it is there was no need to do this now. Nobody was going to take the first round tender on him we could have let him actually earn this type of contract with his play next year. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
Actually, my math was wrong. His new contact averages out to about $7-$7.5 mil/year. If you factor in all LB'ers that puts him at around the 24th highest paid. If you look only at OLB, it puts him at around 17th. It was a good signing.
See my revision. And again, there's a lot to be said about respecting your players. Kiko played average in regards to the entire NFL LB'er corps and he's getting average pay.
I haven't check the math but he is not worth 7.5m per year I don't care how you try to justify it. We should have let him prove he is worth that with his play next season. As far as respecting your players kiko has been with the dolphins for only one season of so so play, same thing with branch only one season of mediocre play and we are rewarding them with big overpaid contracts. Doesn't surprise me you think that way according to you gase and the front office can do no wrong. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
I do agree with the signing early. Seems they are pretty quick. Idk, maybe they want to do Jarvis or prepare for it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He's actually only getting his 3.7 (or was it 3.8?) next year for being tendered. Without knowing what the contract reads maybe there are incentives built in? He's guaranteed $18.5 so that sounds like his tender next year and about $5mil per season after. However, even at $7 mil/season that's less than average pay for an OLB.
I think we have to look at this as it happened, he didn't have a good year last year, a thought that what echoed by the team as they said right after the season ended, that they were going to try him at WLB. So now we sign that same guy for elite LB $? I am not here to crap on your post, but I don't know how anyone can be happy about this signing.
Elite money?!?! HAHAHAH!! Can someone please inform Mrs. Dramatic (I can't because I guess I hurt his feelings and he has put me on ignore) that $7mi/season is no where near elite...
Being the 17th highest paid linebacker in the league is not "average" money as you put it. That is way above average. And his play unfortunately for us is not above average and not commensurate with this contract we are giving him. He is overpaid, there is no way you can justify it. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
I think you math is way off. 7.5m per year is not 38th highest paid. You cannot ignore his signing bonus and total contract value. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
$18m guaranteed vs Hightower, which was 40. It is a good deal, esp moving him now and in the 2nd year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He's not, nor will he be, the 17th highest paid LB'er. Please try and keep up. Also, $7mil/season is around average for a starting OLB.
Next year Kiko will be the 58th highest paid LB'er in the league. And some people want to cry about that...hahahah
Riiiiiight, so we can just cut him of he doesn't perform next year and that's all we pay him right? He got 18.5m guaranteed, you are ignoring that and the signing bonus and just looking at base salary to make it look like we are paying him less than we actually are. Quit trying to cover **** up, he is overpaid. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
What signing bonus? As far as I've seen an amount of one, if there was one, hasn't been revealed. Cut him? Are you doing your whole "move the goalpost game again"? I'm not just looking at base salary. You're lost and throwing numbers around. I said that next year Kiko will be the 38th highest paid OLB. And he will be. Please, try and keep up.
Per year does matter though. If a player plays out their contract their per year is usually more than their guaranteed.
You are being disingenuous if not outright lying to cover **** up. You are just looking at his tendered amount for next year as if he hadn't just signed an extension with 18.5m guaranteed. In total if you include his extension and not ignore it as you are doing then its a total contract value of 28.8 million over 4 years with 18.5 million guaranteed. That works out to 7.2 million per year. You are misleading and just using the tendered amount for next year which would have been the same even if we hadn't given him a new contract. I swear you must be some kind of troll on the dolphins payroll trying to spin and defend every damn thing they do. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
lol... I would like you to go back and re-read (or just read) all the posts in this thread. When/If you do I ask that you A) comprehend them or B) Ask someone to sit by you and explain to you each post. it's really clear that you're lost. It's obvious that you haven't the slightest clue as to what's going on.
You now you are being misleading to try to make it look like he is actually not that well paid. Stop denying it man, you are just looking at the tendered amount for next year and you know it. Be a man and admit you are either wrong in your assessment or being very misleading with your wording to make it seem like he is not paid much. 28.8 million over 4 years with 18.5 guaranteed is 7.2m per year. 7.2m per year is not the 38th highest paid lb in the league. Gtfo with that crap. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
sigh... are you being serious? I've already covered the $7m/season. You said he'd make that next year. He won't. That's the only reason that was brought up. My 2nd post: Actually, my math was wrong. His new contact averages out to about $7-$7.5 mil/year. If you factor in all LB'ers that puts him at around the 24th highest paid. If you look only at OLB, it puts him at around 17th. It was a good signing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My 3rd post (In reply to someone else): He's actually only getting his 3.7 (or was it 3.8?) next year for being tendered. Without knowing what the contract reads maybe there are incentives built in? He's guaranteed $18.5 so that sounds like his tender next year and about $5mil per season after. However, even at $7 mil/season that's less than average pay for an OLB. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My nest post...in reply to Mrs. Fister: Elite money?!?! HAHAHAH!! Can someone please inform Mrs. Dramatic (I can't because I guess I hurt his feelings and he has put me on ignore) that $7mi/season is no where near elite... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You then proceeded to whine ans say that Kiko will be paid the 17th highest LB'er. He won't..and I corrected you. And even if he did make $7m next year he's still not be the 17th ranked LB'er. You're confusing total LB'er pay with OLB pay.
