Seems like good value...although this is the same guy that doesn't believe dinosaurs ever existed but believes in mermaids...thoughts?
Interesting/hilarious old post for rw on him: ''The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson reports the Dolphins have "strong interest" in free agent DE William Hayes. Reportedly close to a deal with Mario Williams which could spell the end for Cameron Wake, signing William Hayes could allow Miami to rescind the transition tag placed on Olivier Vernon. The Rams reportedly hope to re-sign Hayes, and the Giants are expected to be involved as well. 31 in May, Hayes has never recorded more than seven sacks in a season." Tue, Mar 8, 2016 01:19:00 PM
PFF loves this guy for what that's worth. Graded him out as a top25 DE last season. In2015 they graded him 1st in run stop percentage among 4-3 DE's and 6th in per snap pass rushing productivity. 5.5 mill cap hit This year. and no guaranteed money next year. I like it... short term move and draft an edge rusher this year to groom.
I like this move. Can never have too many DE's. Give up a 6th, get the player and a 7th back? Good value, not a real long term investment, thank you LA.
Such a great trade, especially in regards to the price we paid for him as well as his salary. This guy is a legitimately very good DE, especially against the run but also the pass. Great move. Get a LB now!
It's a warm body that you wouldn't probably get from that 6th round pick, and bodies are needed at DE, we have 4 on the roster now after Branch and Hayes, but still need another starter, Wake is no longer what you can call a starter, him and Branch are the passrushers, Hayes and ? are the "starters", for lack of a better term. This is also probably a put up or shut up TC for Fede, if he's no better than he has been then we really have only 3 DEs on the roster right now.
Really great trade. “I got traded today for a stapler and a coffee machine,” Hayes said. “Life goes on though.” Read more here: http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article137644843.html#storylink=cpy
Fede disappointed last year. I was expecting bigger things from him. He seemed to only hurt the team last year.
He's looking at the negative he needs to look at the positive, Coffee and Staplers are very vital to alot of people.
I'd love to have a lot more run support from the DE so this guy seems like a good fit. If Jordan Phillips doesn't take a step forward, we're in trouble no matter what.
I wouldn't go that far. Wake will still play a lot of snaps, but Hayes is the Mario replacement. He's also damn good at stopping the run so I expect him out there in more obvious run downs and shift inside to be that guy who gives Suh a little break here and there.
This is that dude from Hard Knocks who thought dinosaurs were just some stupid conspiracy. #dumbass He's a bit long in the tooth - I imagine he's just a rotational guy getting maybe 15-20 snaps a game.
