He has been - and lord knows I'm rooting for him.

But I do want to warn he's done this before. His last 30 games of the 2013-2014 season after Kyrie went down were spectacular. But he couldn't sustain it. He's pretty maddening.

And I agree the Heat have a ton of good young talent - I love Tyler Johnso, reminds me of Delonte West for some reason in that he just does a ton of stuff well - just wonder what they'll have to pay Waiters to stay.

Who is the big FA they go after this year? Blake? They're competing with Boston and OKC as teams with max space, right?

Those Heat teams would've beaten them in 5

Man, those Heat teams were insane but I don't know. This GS team is incredible. It's fun to think about. Both teams relied a lot on transition offense, right? That swarming Heat defense full of athletes might be tough for GS. Could Bosh handle all the switching?

Anyone see LeBron try and make an excuse for Miami beating them by saying losing Bogut deflated the arena and the team? I wish LeBron wouldn't do this type of stuff. This is why he gets the criticism he does. I've always been a LeBron fan and a Kobe hater, but I don't think you would see Kobe making excuses like that.

The 2015 team (champs) were a year away from winning a title. They just got a great draw on the finals with Lebron and 4 retail workers.

The 2016 team may have been interesting, it took Kyrie outplaying Curry and then making the huge mistake of pissing off the best player in sports by talking shnit through the media for them to lose.

I still think they are vastly overrated pre Durant and have a collective mental toughness of a 10 year old girl.

Well lets face it... Waiters is a completely different player under Spoelstra than he has been under any other head coach.. he stays healthy he deserves his long term deal

I agree on the mental toughness thing. My lord do they love to talk trash and then whine when anyone claps back in even the smallest way. Curry throwing his tantrum in the Finals last year was so funny.

But they're also good enough to get away with it. This is probably the best Cavs team I'll ever see and I don't give them very good odds against GS in the Finals. If KD is hobbled and Dray still can't make his 3s then there might be a blueprint, but it's still long odds.

I think he could, aside from being very athletic, he's also very long. While maybe not quite as quick footed as Thompson is, Bosh is certainly a better player and his length should compensate, and Bosh is a better defender than Love too. So I don't see the shortcoming there.

I think it's 50/50 they even get out of the West.

If they get a bad draw and SA gets home court which is possible? I could see them getting bounced.

Bosh might be behind KG as the best Defensive PF of all-time. Spo used Bosh to guard Guards at times.

IMO, Peak Golden State vs. Big 3 era Miami is interesting. Miami has the edge with their defense, and having the best player, but the Dubs had the one thing you needed vs. those Miami teams.....the ability to score WITH THEM.

IDK, it's a tossup. Those Miami teams had Historic Offenses that these Dubs have since duplicated. How bout this..whoever gets home court...is the winner.

I know in my brain that the Warriors have an incredible defense, and yet when I watch them I just never feel THAT impressed on that end. Certainly not at the level of peak Heatles. Could see Curry being careless and Wade / LeBron just murdering them on fast breaks.

Sec - what are your thoughts on this year's Finals? Cavs have any chance?

I felt they had no chance last year, and they won. How bout this...I felt that the first 4 games of last year's finals were indicative of how it would go. A complete beatdown.

This year, if the Cavs get healthy, I see the opposite. A competitive series, but the Dubs in 6.

There is something "wrong" with the Dubs. But talent sometimes and OFTEN overcomes.

Yeah that's pretty much how I see it. Warriors are sort of top heavy so even a minor injury to the right guy or a shooting slump from Steph or something could swing it. But hard to see the Cavs being able to top all that talent - especially if/when they aren't able to just magically turn on their defense like they seem to think.

Most obvious road to a Cavs win would be KD's injury lingering and forcing GS into a bunch of slugfests to get out of the West and then extending the series until GS just runs out of gas - pretty much same as last year with Steph's injury.

Hard to argue against it. People like flashy, trendy things. Leonard isn't that...but what he is, is the MVP.

The more ridiculous or contested the shot, the more I feel comfortable it's going in. This guy has been pretty clutch.

P'R d is a lot easier when you have two of the most dynamic defenders in the NBA, maybe all-time - in their true prime.
