I have asserted multiple times that the QB is the most imprtant position on the team because his success and attitude seems to permeate throughout the entire team. I know Lemon and Green are gone, I think Bill keeps Beck and allows him to compete. Definitely thinks he brings in a veteran presence for Beck, would love Pennington even with his weak arm, because he is smart, he is a competitor and he knows how to win. I've heard that he will be heavily courted by the Chiefs, but I still would like him to be a Dolphin.
Lets trade down with Atlanta if we can....we give them the first pick they give us the 4th AND DeAngelo Hall....if the Falcons pass on Matt Ryan, he would likely fall to us at the #4 spot....if the Falcons take Ryan then we can still likely take Chris Long, and have him and Hall as defensive starters. We are not going to be a playoff team without a QB. I believe we drafted a QB in the first round in 1966 (Rick Norton) and 1967 (Griese),,,,gotta keep at it until we get a franchise QB.
mcnabb has an 90 QB rating this season. he went to three consecutive Super Bowls. and he had no good WR aside from TO for one season
I don't want McNabb on this team. Remember how far Culpepper fell off after he joined us? They are all too similar. And don't say I'm racist either lol. That always pops up. McNabb is a proven winner, yes, but he'll be over 30 with injury problems and I don't want that on this team.
mcnabb and culpepper are not similar 1. culpepper tore three ligaments in his knee 2. mcnabb has shown this season that he can still be a great qb...after his injury 3. culpepper came to us the first season following his injury 4. mcnabb was playing at a pro bowl level before his injury, culpepper was not
Name me one season in the past 3 seasons when McNabb was healthy. Culpepper was injured once in his knee. McNabb has been injured twice on the same knee, has had ankle problems, and has had a sports hernia. He's always freakin injured. When has acquiring a 30 year old QB with knee problems actually worked?
Man I couldn't see us trading pick for Mcnabb . . . I'm sorry, we have had too many wasted picks on QB's . . . I rather use the #1 on Matt Ryan, before I gamble another high pick on a injury prone veteran QB.
Donovan McNabb is one of the most overrated quarterbacks in the NFL. He's never been a true superstar quarterback, but he's been a media hyped quarterback his entire career. This is a guy who has completed more than 56% of his passes ONE TIME in his career. Donovan McNabb is one of the most inaccurate passers in the NFL, and he doesn't read coverages very well either.
Actually 3 consecutive NFC championships, not superbowls, and what Mcnabb has proven so far is that when good talent is around him he is pretty good (not great), but is injury prone. When Jeff Garcia, and AJ Feeley come in as backups, and look as good or better then you with the same talent, you really need to wonder how good Mcnabb really is.
McNabb is better than any Qb we have on the roster, thats not saying much though. I wouldn't trade for him but if he was cut he'd be a solid pickup. We'd be a better team with him than anyone on our roster. Hes not a great Qb but the Eagles have always left him with little help from his Wrs.
where did you find that at? The following are his completion percentages year by year : 49% (rookie), 58%, 57% , 58% ,57% , 64%, 59%, 57%, 60%..... 8 of 9 years over 56% and that one year he wasnt over it, he was a rookie. He has never had really good receivers. He had James Thrash, Todd Pinkston and Freedie " I'd like to thank by hands for being so great" Mitchell. Mitchell was a bust, Thrash is a special teams player and Pinkston is out of the league. He has never had a 1,000 yard receiver aside from Terrell Owens. I think those are some good completion percentages despite those crappy receivers.
i dont know who you guys think is going to be starting for us. i seriously doubt we have beck starting, or someone we draft this year so we are going to be picking up a veteran QB if we can get mcnabb for a 2nd rounder, i would pull the trigger in regards to mcnabb's health 'concerns', i dont think its much of an issue. his knee has looked great the past few games, and he has recovered from that injury much faster than any other QB in that situation. his ankle was not even much of an issue. he missed two games, which he probably would have started had they not been eliminated from the playoffs
I live in Ohio and have seen every single Browns game this year. Anderson is an "okay" QB at this point (IMO). He has been very lucky that his receivers are willing to go up and make spectacular catches for him. I wouldn't want him to have to make a pinpoint pass when the pressure is on. That is my opinion though. Plus, we would be stupid to TRADE for another teams QB AGAIN.
i love how some have given up on beck as our future qb. we dont need to spend a HIGH draft pick on a qb.
What no mention of TO at wr? He also had a Westbrook and a All pro Te, and keep in mind McNabb is playing in the West Coast Offense, lots of dump off passes, 64% is no great shakes.... D McNabb is a "winner" though, he may not be pretty to watch, but he does win ballgames somehow, but he is not for us, he will go to a contender who can afford to pay more in draft picks then we can...
i did mention TO, the second to last sentence.... whos the all pro te? I hope ur not talking about lj smith.
yeah i dont think he is considered an all pro. I might be wrong and if i am, i will take that. I dont believe he is an all pro TE
You could be correct alen1, "all pro" could mean "Voted to start in the Pro Bowl" or it could mean "Made the Pro Bowl", but either way, he was an "elite" Te, McNabb wasn't completely without weapons in the receiving game... Mitchell was just bad though, he was so poor at catching the ball I'm surprised that he didn't end up playing in miami....
Hey we all have our opinions and I respect yours. You have your belief and i have mine on certain things.... but yeah what a bust freddie was.
yeah ... I wish we would like strike gold in the sixth round or seventh with a qb... kinda like the gaytriots did.
the cheating helped brady develop faster also, you grow confident faster when you know the play that the defense is going to run
