Sign Mangold now and kick Pouncey to Guard and save the hips. There is a need at Center and we have to realize that, and playing the Jets twice a year would be sweet for him
Pouncey is a far better center than he is a guard, and Mangold ain't what he used to be. Still, you never know, and we have the Crackpipe. Maybe an incentive-laden deal. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Guys like Parker and Pouncey cannot be depended on. If there is an ability to hedge our bet, we should look into it.Plus let's not forget the Tannenbaum factor with Mangold
You beat me to the post before I posted the second part of my post. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Mangold's arrow is pointing straight down, which is why he was released, he was not very good in '15 and got worse last year. I might sign him for like 3 mil to be a back up C, but that's about it.
I wouldn't expect much out of Mangold at this stage in his career. Would probably have a similar outcome as the Jermon Bushrod signing did--not terrible, but not great, either. His name alone is going to net him 2-3 million per year, which is too much for my taste. I still like Ronald Leary at LG and Pat Elflein at RG/swing C. More value for the money, in my opinion, and certainly more longevity between those two. Let's build a team to last.
Tannenbaum is referred to as "the crack pipe" by some. Tannenbaum knowns Mangold well from when he was GM of the JEST and likes to deal in free agency. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
