True. David Bowens has been money for the Jets, from what I have seen. Was there really a need to lose him in favor of Ninkovich or someone else? And Donnie Jones too. I wasn't too worried about the move initially.

We had to lose Welker, unfortunately. Satele has been a bright spot.

Right so what does that mean? Don't give the HC that power. A Head Coach is a Head Coach. All of these guys are fine coaches, but they aren't player guru's.

I think we will see Bill bring a traditional format back to the Dolphins where the GM is the GM and the HC is the HC and everyone is on the same philosophy.

Armstrong has had 24 weeks to develop replacements for those players, he hasn't been able to get that job done.

I wan't trying to be a wiseguy on the last post. But this organization has just had bad personnel in the front office and had coaching positons for the last 10+ years.
Bad drafting, bad player aquisitions, etc. and they were made by those coaches/general managers that were in charge at that period.

That included Jimmy Johnson, Dave Wannstedt, Nick Saban and Cam Cameron.

I agree that the HC , GM positions must also be restructured. We have one the largest coaching staffs in the league and that should be restructured too. IMHO

I may be alone here, but I would rather not have Cam leave. There are a lot of coaches that have started out bad and ended up being better. Name me a team in the last 10 years with worst luck than us? We've had 15 people go on IR. I know, it may be because Cam wasn't conditioning them enough. But coaches do change. With Parcells in now, Cameron will be forced to make his players work as hard as possible and stay as conditioned as possible. I wouldn't mind Randy leaving though. He has brought in some good value from trades, but when it comes to drafting I don't know if I like him that much.

As recently as a few days ago I thought that Cam was going to get a chance to right the ship. Now........not so much. Not everything that happened this season has been Cam's fault, but he did make more than a few mistakes along the way and one of them was conditioning that led to several key injuries. That alone really hurt this team.

This is Tuna's call, if he wants to build this team the right way, he will need to have people around him that he can trust, people that are on the same page as him. Are Cam and Randy those guys? we'll soon see.

As far as Randy's drafting. I still think that Ginn, Beck, Satele, Mauia and Soliai all have potential to be good.

This year was the exception to the rule. IU could have any of the best recruiting coaches there is in college football and will always get the bottom of the barrell of the nations prospects. There is not an ounce of interest nor a football aptmiosphere in Bloomington and there never will be.

So you want to keep a coach that will need Parcell's to change him???

Either you got it, or you don't.

In terms of luck and injuries, thats not an excuse. The Bills and Jets have lost just as many players as us, and they still were able to bend us over.

To be honest, I was giving Cameron the benefit of the doubt until we got embarrassed by Buffalo and New York. After those two games though, I knew Cameron just is not HC material.

    And neither is Illinois.

But anytime you are in the Big Ten you are going to be able to pull some talent.

They may never be a powerhouse, but they surely have the ability to do as well as Rutgers, WV, Arizona St., etc.

Kirk Ferentz over his first five years as a head coach in College FB had a record of 16-40. That obviously means he doesn't have what it takes to be a successful head coach, oh wait.

    Sorry

It depends on how he is used IMO. If he can be the Leon Washington type player that can come in and change the pace of a game on the ground and on screens etc, then I would be very happy. I think we need to see alot more of him before we can make any type of evaluation. He has his limitations, but does have alot of potential.

Parcells was just on ESPN and said to Mort that he thinks he has to do something w/ Cam/Randy fast just to be fair to them. He also said he thoughht Beck was accurate, has a quick release and isn't real big. He said Cleo is athletic but not as accurate. He was open to having Trent Green back as Back-up.

just to point something out. Cam was not in my top 5. When we were doing the search, I remember a post saying I wanted 1.Ken Wisenhunt 2.Brian Schottenheimer 3.Mike Tomlin 4.Mike Singletary 5.Josh McDaniels. Though after listening to Cam, and after a long look at our draft class, I thought it was a breath of fresh air. But as I had been pointing out in the chat room in recent weeks, Cam's made decisions each week that have made me like him less and less, now you guys from the old forum that know me, know that I'm usually about patients, but Cam has completely lost my support.

As for ST, losing Welker has not hurt us as much as other losses. We can't cover kicks or block for returns; neither of which Welker did.

guys everyone was so excited when Culpepper came here, when Porter came here, when Ricky came back, when we hired Saban, Cameron (OC of a 14-2 team)....guess what, nothing changed in Miami.

i like Parcells, Sparano, Ireland, Garrett, etc.....but i really believe Miami is cursed and no matter who we hire, we are still gonna......suck. i can just see all the BS fans posting on here "we are gonna win the super bowl!" after Sparano is hired as HC, and Ireland....then we end up going 3-13.

    i can see that happening
i was happy when Porter came here and i am still happy that he is here, i really never like Culpepper i would have much rather had Brees, i wasnt happy when ricky came back at all i dont like the guy i think he does to much drugs and he need to get out of miami, i wasnt really to sure about Saban when he first got here but i was happy that he was here, and i am happy that cam is here i think he need to have another year in miami because of all the injurys, so u can say everybody was happy about all that stuff because i was only happy about part of it and this is very little

This year was a waste, it stunk up the NFL, we embarrased ourselves, the Tuna needs to throw out the garbage and rebuild from the ground up, we have no foundation!!:(

Daunte I was not excited about at first. Once I saw he was able to go in practice, I talked myself into being excited. Then after the first couple games, my excitement went away.

Porter... I thought he'd add an attitude to the team that we sorely missed. Hate his lack of production, but we have not used him properly at all.

Not excited about Ricky at all, since I don't trust him to be around too long

I was excited about Saban, I was excited how he got the team to rallly to a 9-7 record. But everything he did right in 05-06, he did everything wrong in 06-07. Pretty much every move he made backfired, and I don't think anybody would've guessed we would be better off with Gus and Sage instead of Daunte and Joey.

As I've said before, it is not out of the realm of possibility to be in the playoffs next year. Not saying I expect to, but not out of the question. It all has to do with how Parcells, and the new regime (if there is a new regime) treats the off season. Looking back, Mueller and Cam did not treat FA last year too seriously. They put all there eggs in one basket (Porter) and really did not try to sign minor roleplayers while letting our roleplayers walk. Besides Porter, who did we sign? Chris Lewinski,David Martin,Az Hakim,Kelly Campell, and Mike Rosenthal. Hakim and Campell were camp fodder, and Rosenthal would've been as well except he got hurt. I think the draft will look great down the road, but we did not do well in FA last year.

Anyways, this can either be a short rebuilding process depending on who Tuna gets in FA (ie, young guys who just need a chance to shine) and how much quality he gets in the draft. Maybe we take a giant leaps at a time quickly like the Saints and Titans did, or maybe we slowly build like the Jags did.

You liked Mcdaniels also!. I actually think there is an outside, outside chance we get him with Bill. He's probably a 20 to 1 longshot but I think its possible. My choices last year were
    1) Jeff Fisher 2) Bill Parcells 3) Josh Mcdaniels 4) Cam Cameron. I still like Cam. I'm a little more forgiving than a lot of people for first year coaches. I think his big picture approach to the team was great. We are in great cap shape and have added youth and potential talent on the offensive side of the ball. I also love his offensive schemes. I just dont think he has the personnell to execute them. I think where he got overwhelmed is in having his players prepared every week, especially at the beginning of the season when we were relatively healthy. I know it was a new system but they came out flatter than they should have. I agree he had some mistakes with game management but I think the way he;s second guessed on this board goes beyond what is deserved. Not saying you but some other posters who have ripped him from day one. I think he's the type that would fix those things that were weak in his apprioach his second year but I think it doesnt matter. Dead Man Walking basically. Hopefully Sparano is a good coach because he's the likely new head coach here IMO. I dont know enough about him to have a feeling one way or other

I thought McDaniels would bring a better talent evaluation and gameplan to us similar to what Romeo has done in Cleveland (even before this year, he and Savage have loaded Cleveland with talent) and Mangini did with the Jets (talent wise, last year IMO was a fluke year)

I'm not saying Cam doesn't deseve another chance, but he's lost my support with a lot of his decisions. If he stays, I still want Capers gone (his handling of the defense has been inexcusable)

I have been in favor of letting RANCAM have time to get their people in place to play, but now, I dont think it will happen. Big BILL will probably clean house and we will start over AGAIN. I am to much of a homer so IT ALL SOUNDS GOOD TO ME. I would just like some stability. Maybe that will happen now. Unless we get good real quick and some other team decides to raid our coaches and we have to do it all over again. But that is still better than haveing a bunch of coaches and players that no one else wants.
I am convinced, again, I think.

we wouldn't really be starting over again since we really didn't start over to begin with. Despite losing several players from last year team, we basically had the same corp as last year.

Miami was in real trouble when Saban arrived and I still think Saban knew this was coming when he jumped ship. Maybe Cameron inherited a situation too big for a rookie coach to handle, but we all know he inherited a major job. The worse thing about Miami's situation is that bad drafts have left this team without a foundation to build on. Saban had some success in the draft but it wasn't great and he had more holes to fill than a few draft picks could help. Without the influx of young players thru the draft Miami has fallen way behind and just has too many holes to fill over a short period of time. I don't think Cameron is ready to be a head coach. Maybe he will grow into it but again, maybe not.
