This team has a ton more upside than the 2008 team. The 2008 team felt like just a ton of breaks going our way. Pretty sure we set a league record for lack of turnovers, Pennington pulled an MVP level season out of his ***, and the wildcat won us a few games until defenses adjusted to it. This team has had talented young playmakers make plays to win games, just horrible injury luck.

The offensive line was terrible today, but Matt Moore didnt do them any favors. You have to feel the pocket better

This is only only bad thing about making the playoffs. The Dolphins need an impact LB desperately but drafting in the twenties as they will be doing, it is going to be extremely hard to find a LB who can come in and make an impact from day one.

Perhaps they will get lucky and the top rated LB in the draft will have a video showing him smoking marijuana right before the draft starts. They can then draft him late in the first round, as we can always hope for deja vu.

The first quarter implosion hurts more than the turnovers.

Well, we all knew this was a tough task today as banged up as this team is. Just not talented enough to hang with them while we're playing with a bunch of backups all over the field. Impossible to overcome those 3 turnovers against a team like Pitt, with our team in the shape it was in.

Bottom line though, this has been a great season for this team. Better than anyone expected. Got to hand it to this staff, and these players for getting this team to 10 wins, and getting into the playoffs. None of us expected that, nor would have expected it with all the injuries we've had, yet here we were. Unfortunately, just too banged up, and not talented enough to hang with Pittsburgh, but it'll come. An offseason in this program, adding more talent, improving that defense, and I don't doubt we can be back here next year.

It's been a fun year everyone. Lets all now root for anyone, and everyone but the Pats!

I agree that the three turnovers certainly were a factor in the game. Yet we all knew that Moore was a backup for a reason and when you have a QB like Moore in a playoff game. You need much better play from the defense than the Dolphins displayed today.

Of course I also recognize that the vast majority of the the players who started on the defense today will be lucky to be on a roster during the 2017 season.

Linebacker, safety, pass rusher DE.. those have to be addressed in the offseason.

Going in to this game I was saying, "what if Moore outshines RT17?" Ooppps then the 3rd turnover took place. So at that point Ryan took a breath of fresh air and said, "i have nothing to worry about."

New poster. But we were exposed for what we are. We werent a good team. We didnt beat one good team all year. We have a solid foundation. But we arent close at this point. We need to get rid of Albert, move Tunsil to LG, sign 2 guards (yet again), get a whole new LB core, and get another DT, De, and 1-2 more DB's. That isnt close, but that isnt far away either.

Meh youre basically calling for an overhaul for every unit that isnt very good. That just isnt the reality in the NFL. This isnt CFB where you can sign everybody.

IMO we are definitely set for next year at the following positions:
    QB
    RB
    WR
    DT
    S
    RT
    C

Id be fine going into next year with the same guys at the following positions, but wouldnt be opposed to an upgade:
    LT
LG (if we move on from Albert)
    RG
    DE

And we NEED to upgrade the following positions:
    ILB
    OLB
    CB

I seriously think a couple badass linebackers could help out this defense so much, plus Jones returning which is like another guy in the box

It's not about having a clue. It really is about talent at this point. You have arguably the best back in football, a top-5 QB, the best wideout in football.

How'd they do against us the last game?? This was when Miami at least had some starters there.

It doesn't matter how you scheme, sometimes you cannot overcome the talent deficiency. Bell had a mere 53 yards that game running.

I get that the D looks bad. But you have to take everything in context. And you have to really account for the lack of talent on D.

Until you can accept that, I'm not going to talk about it anymore.

Hate to break it to you. We werent at all. Stop being a homer. If you saw this team the entire year you would realize we arent that much different from previous years. Our OL still sucks. Sorry, it's the truth. Albert sucks and graded out terribly on PFF. So if Tunsil moves to LT, we need 2 guards because Bushrod was untalked about as the worst OG in the league, and Pouncey is good but is never healthy.

Aside from that, on the offense alone, our TE's were horrific. A guy like Martellus Bennett would help this offense so much. Our Te's were horrific.

Sorry to be a realist, but our wins were 2 against buffalo and jets each, Cleveland, St. Louis, San Fran, Arizona, Chargers, Pittsburgh without big Ben, etc. We are not good. Sorry you get blinded by watching mediocrity, but i want to be good, not just a wild card team. And we arent there yet. Sorry to be a realist. Teams dont completely break down due to injuries. Watch the patriots actively trade away great players and tell me we are good again.

We are not all that far off, but we are also nowhere close. IF you dont think so you are a straight up homer, which ive noticed is most of this board.

Ya good luck with that. If we could just play these great teams without their best players. Maybe, just maybe, if we can do that for an entire regular season, get a first round bye, and then play these teams without any quality QB's, we can get by and just sneak in a quick super bowl. Get the **** out of here. Quit being blinded by the mediocrity youve seen the past 20 years and realize just how far away this team really is.

We were 10-6. That's being a realist. What you posted is just trying to deflect from how good of a season we had.

lmao that is more of a complete lack of awareness than a realist. Enjoy that realist of seeing who we beat with who are the actual contenders in the league. We beat absolutely no one this year, and the result today was not surprising aside from anyone other than a complete homer. If you actually looked at tape/people who study tape, we are nowhere close. do your research. We have a glaring hole at Lt (without Tunsil there), LG (with Tunsil at LT), RG (worst guard in the league), the entire linebacker corps, 2nd DT, backup DB's at every position, TE. We are not close. We got lucky because of our schedule. Plain and simple. And I saw that in the beginning of the year, as any sane person should have. We are no different than 8-8, 9-7, 7-9. the playoffs are great, but we are nowhere close

And im a huge dolphins fan who had season tickets 4 rows up from the end zone until about 2006. But im sorry, making the playoffs is not a sign of being back. With the way the NFL legislates equality in scheduling last place teams against each other the following year, we are where we should be. We made some very good moves this offseason. The Maxwell, Alonso, Tunsil, deal was great. But we are not close at this point to being a super bowl contender.

For us to be able to win with just an above average Qb in Tannehill, we need severe upgrades in several areas to be anywhere near a contender. I really apologize to some of you homers, but our LB's were among the worst, out DB's with 2 injuries were among the worst, and our OL the entire year couldn't sustain one injury. How many offensive lines in the NFL could you show me that are superb if there are no injuries? That argument is complete and utter horse****. Having 5 solid offensive lineman is not a huge deal. That doesnt make a great OL. We have an ok starting OL at the best. With one injury we literally to our OL we literally shut down our entire offense for weeks on end. I'm sorry, but the best teams dont deal with injuries in that way.

And this post hasnt even gotten into our defense at all.

We are an OK team. That's it. We got lucky with this terrible schedule. But we made the playoffs. And that is really cool. But we are not a great team, nor are we a couple pieces away.

Lol, I guess we'll see. But fantasy football stats don't always translate to real world results which the majority of this forum can't comprehend. I hope RT lights it up next year but i'm expecting similar results to the last five years.

I would expect RT to light it up next year. Hopefully we can get a few more players on offense and keep Stills. However, the defense needs to be completely overhauled. Heads need to roll on defense and on the defensive staff.

I agree with this. The turnovers today were on Moore. Say what you will but RT17's pocket awareness has improved significantly. The turnovers today showed this. Moore is a great back up and Im glad we have him. No more than a stand out back up.
