im getting sick of hearing the coaches and staff saying "we dont want problem children", "people with issues". etc etc

its obvious after being 1-14, that we need people who can help us win. going for depth, these mediocre guys, etc....isnt working. if we can find a way to get TO, or Chad, or Randy...or heck, all 3....guess what, u gotta do it. who cares if they run their mouths, at least they will help us win. At least they will probably bring more people to our games too!

we got Joey Porter and all he does is run his mouth...but he helps....a little. fact is we need guys who can help us win, because our philosophy just isnt working. the NFL is a business, right? the teams arent families, they are businesses. u think if Rex Hadnot got what he wanted from another team (money wise), he would stick to Miami? of course not. they go where they are being paid higher. so just bring in people who will win..

lol, who cares, this aint a popularity contest. He's talent. Just because Chad is a little boisterous is no reason to refuse his talent. The Dolphins have been hurting for a true #1 for a long long time.

I'd swap 1sts with Cinci for Chad in a second.

I take ityou feel that they are out of control becasue the MEDIA says so huh?
There is somethign called take charge leaders and did it ever dawn on you that Chad is the leader in Cincy and that Palmer could be playing under his capabilities?

Let me tell you I played 1 year in SD with Jr and Harrison AND IF YOUR PLAY WAS EVER NOT UP TO PARA THEY TOOK IT TO YOU.
After I played in NY and Stray / Hamilton took it too me 1 day for loafing on special teams. DON'T LISTEN TO THE MEDIA.

1 they make EVERYTHING a big deal just to make a story.
    2. when every a source tell them something 1/2 of what the sorce told them is true then then they take that and turn 1/2 of that around to make a story. that leave only 1/4 the truth......

There have been examples given already.

    Likewise

Just as a little refresher, Randy Moss flat out admitted that he wasn't trying in Oakland, he ran over a traffic cop in Minny, bragged about his pot use in an interview, etc, etc, etc.......and you wanted him on the team? Did it ever occur to you that he is only behaving in NE because he wanted to be there, play with Tom Brady and win a ring? Do you really believe that he would be a good soldier in Miami? lol

    Yeah, who needs chemistry?

And all of Joey Porter's gaurantees helped us how exactly? Did they help us in Cleveland? Pittsburgh? NE?

Our "philosophy" isn't working because we drafted poorly, traded away picks for other teams garbage, allowed the team to get old and didn't spend on fixing the OL. It has nothing to do with getting Joey Porter/Chad Johnson types.

Guys like Brady, Manning, Favre etc, etc, etc, have all done it with class. We need more guys like that.

    Understatement of the week.

Let me put it thi way (for KING and the "gold teeth" point), does anyone remember Kevin Greene? John Randle? Those guys used to wear facepaint and it was against the NFL rules and they were fined for it. It wasn't a cultural thing or a racist thing, it was simply against NFL rules. Now take Ocho Cinco, he wears the gold teeth, he puts a stupid nametag on his jersey and has been fined for it. If it's against the NFL rules, why does he feel that he doesn't have to follow them?

The NFL has a rule against excessive endzone celebrations. That doesn't stop Ocho from doing his elaborate celebrations, and he has been fined for it. Why does he feel that he is above the rules?

Because he is Chad Johnson. It's all about him!

Why would you want a guy on your team that flaunts the rules? Whether you agree with the rules or not, you have to follow them.

yeah, I routinely take my queues from the media because I can't think for myself.

    Nope, not once.

I'm not directing this at you, but I like how people will use sites like PFT when it supports their argument and then ignore those same sites/sources when it doesn't fit their argument.

Sure the media makes a mountain out of a mole hill, but they also report facts. Chad Johnson is responsible for his negative press, not the media.

Anyway, I done with the topic. I'll remember not to voice an opinion next time.

Just my opinion, but guys are already saying that JT is a cancer to this team. i dont care if he is or not, as long as he still performs for us.

This season a lot of guys including myself have said trade him, get rid of him, basically do what you will with him, but get him off this team. He isn't playing for the team, his fire is out, etc.

Well, he has proved us all wrong whatever happens in the off season. He is no cancer, but if you listened to the rest of the league you would think he was. Well isn't Chad in the same boat. I think he would be a great acquisition for the club. Cancers only happen if you let them, and i think it would be worth taking a chance on someone like him. **** Moss was a cancer at the Raiders and Minny, and TO at Philly before him, but both are great players as well. i would take him in a heartbeat as Paul McGuire would say,, it could be the deal that makes us great again.

I didn't gloss over the article. Before I read your post, I clicked "quote" and read it from there so I can break it down and respond on the go. Quotes don't show in quotes, so I never even noticed the article. It doesn't mean anything significant to me though. A rumor blog? Please. That's as credible as a PFT article.

But you also ignored every point that I just made as well, so ehh.. point not taken.

Football is a team sport. This may be hard to imagine, but how do you think the offensive linemen or the secondary, or the linebackers, or the QB, or the TE's feel when ONE guy thinks that he is somehow privileged and 'MORE" special than everyone else?

If you had to block JT all game long how would you feel seeing that clown promenading on the sidelines?

If he is able to make a TD, the O-linemen have just as much credit as he does. You don't see them putting on make-up and high heels in the endzone after every TD do you?

Ocho Cinco is a showman to be sure, but unlike some of the worst of the TO and Moss days, he doesnt seem to have that off-the-field bad streak to him. Yeah he showboats and lives it up more than most, but hell, isnt this league supposed to be about entertaining the fans?
I hate all the No Fun League crap that the NFL keeps trying to put in place. If they guys want to have some fun let them! Some people get all bent out of shape over stuff for some strange reason. So the guy likes to draw attention to himself after a touchdown. Hell, at least it would BE a TD, something we could use A LOT more of! And like I said, its not like hes out on his driveway doing situps, or running over traffic cops and that kind of stuff. He doesnt take plays off, he plays hard, and hes GOOD. A down year, yes, but everyone has them. Its not like the rest of the team is playing at an all star level right now with the exception of TJ.

Can you just imagine the wrecking crew of 85 and Teddy Ginn streaking up the field? Ouch! And lets be honest, if he can put some more butts in the seats in Miami and get some people cheering for the team, why not? I wouldnt bet the farm on him, but if hes around for a decent enough price I would certainly go for it.

I guess so but I wouldn't want him on my team, and he certainly doesn't seem like a 'Parcells' type guy.

My favorite WR is that guy over with Pittsburgh, Hines Ward. The guy who knocks out safeties and CB's.

Or the guy with the Panthers, when he does his TD celebrations I find them funny & cool. When he struck a pose in that game against us a few yeasr ago, I cracked up even though I was screaming mad.

Ocho cinco is just an immature, mindless clown IMO...

It was a down year for HIM, but still pretty fantastic as far as recievers go. Everyone's just used to him being phenominal. Just like JT. Jason Taylor has a good year this year, obviously a Pro Bowl season. We just got spoiled a bit last year where he won games for us with his miraculous game changing plays.

Okay, I'm suckered back into the thread.

I find it amusing that people are quick to run with the rumor of Ocho Cinco being available, of the Dolphins having interest, etc, but then those very same people are quick to write of the very same site that posts the rumor. Consistency would be nice.

This rumor is not new, the PBP picked up on it late, this was going around a few months ago. I wasn't a fan of the idea then and I'm not now.

What point did you make? All you have done is call me ignorant, you ignored my very valid concerns and called them irrelevent, you've tried hard to turn the gold teeth thing into a racial issue (which it's not) and you ignored an article on Ocho's behavior because it doesn't fit your argument and it comes from PFT, and yet this whole thread is based off a rumor.

Bottom line, I want the Dolphins to acquire players that have respect for the game and respect for their teammates. You can root for all of the sideshows that you like, that's your right, but I don't want them on this team. And after reading Parcells comments, neither does he.

Meh, it's not just about keeping quiet, it's his whole "look at me/me first" attitude.

Reading comprehension is nothing to be afraid of. Try it sometime.

It's called respect for the game. When a guy constantly flaunts the rules to draw attention to himself, it's a problem and a distraction. Ocho has gone above and beyond just celebrating a good play, he is a circus sideshow that not all of us appreciate. The NFL has a rule against things like nametags, facepaint, excessive endzone celebrations, etc and has fined guys like Kevin Greene and John Randle for it in the past. Those players needed to conform to the rules, why is Ocho any different?

    Cause he's a showman?

If Miami could get Chad (along with switching 1st round pick and some extra picks), that would be pretty awesome. I would love that trade.

We still would need to fix the QB position, and strengthen the O-line a bit more, but having Chad in here would propel this Offense.

Consider having Chad on one side daring teams to double team him, this would open things up considerably for Ginn and make him a very dangerous player, if they try to bring help against both, Ronnie is going to be in a fantasy world of chunks of yardage at will. All we would then need is a Trustworthy TE (Does not have to be great), and a QB that can get the ball to the Receivers and this would be a very good Offense.

Exactly, if anything, he is pretty creative, and people love to see what he will do next when he scores the 1st TD of the game he is playing in. He could piss off the opponents a bit, but all in all whet he does in just in fun...that to me is far from a problem child.

Because he likes having fun  The NFL is making rule after rule trying to be as strict as they can be. Cb's can barely touch WR's anymore, if you touch a QB you're getting a 15 yard penalty and you can't celebrate anything anymore. Chad doesn't care about the fines, he goes to give the fans a show and does exactly that. It isn't like he's dropkicking a ref in the head, giving the finger to the fans or talking down to his teammates. He is celebrating when he does something good. Obviously you like the direction the NFL is going with all of the rules they're instituting but Golf has more leeway toward celebrating and I refuse to have a negative feeling toward someone that has fun doing what they're doing. The only reason I watch any Bengal game is because of Chad and it will be a sad day when Chad retires/stops having fun.

Dropping down 8 spots in one of the weakest drafts (at the top) ever for a receiver who will get you 1,200-1,400+ yards every season? I'll take it.

But Chad Johnson pretty much defecated on many statements in this thread today! lol, my case is rested. If you wouldn't take Chad Johnson at the right price, then it's a good thing that you aren't making football decisions, IMO. That's just my opinion, but I honestly feel that way.

(^not directed to anyone in particular -- just a general statement)

I feel the same way. Its nice to see NFL cracking down on some things, and telling thugs like Jones and Vick to take a hike, but its another thing to continually impose new rules limiting any kind of celebration. Yes its fine to make sure there isnt any taunting going on and gameplay isnt overly disrupted, but the NFL seems to want to put a damper on everything.
So the guy enjoys having some fun after a TD catch. Ill take the TD catch at this point. Why anyone wouldnt is beyond me.

Right, this "source" is saying this. Yet, the head coach and none of the players have ever spoken out against either of them saying anything like this. I'm sorry but it sounds like some reporter trying to start something because Chad is outspoken and the Bengals are terrible this year.
