    Did anyone else notice it?

Almost every single time Miami came out on offense the train whistle would blow. I never heard it a single time when Buffalo had the ball.

Is this part of the stadium or something?

  2. I highly recommend we do it back to them when they come into our house but lounder and more obnoxious with it. Two can play at that game. Its time moami started putting our 12th man on the field

I think it was letting the fans know that the Jay Train was about to leave the station

Definitely on purpose. Normally it's only played on third or fourth downs to pump up the crowd, but that last game they seemed to abuse the noise pumping.

The Pats do it too. Seems to blare whenever the opposing team's offense is trying to relay the next play to the QB.

I would think it would be illegal. At first I thought it was an actual real train. The sideline reporter was trying to talk over it and it was hard to hear her. Almost always on first down (at least when we started a drive) that thing was blowing.

Do you mean stadium noise, or the actual jamming of radio signals?

In case you missed it there have been recent positive comments about the Miami fans and the home atmosphere and that it has helped they team and need the fans to keep it up.

I noticed this as well and it seemed like it was done intentionally to interfere with relaying in the play. I would think if Atlanta can get penalized for pumping in noise then blowing the horn repeatedly like this would also be against the rules.

Conversely Gase said in his last presser that the crowd noise at Hard Rock has been excellent with the new roof.

Note that the video you reference is organic crowd noise.

Atlanta was fined for pumping in noise.

Well, the Dolphins are sea creatures. So, if Buffalo wishes to bring in train whistles.. Let's find a Ships Horn somewhere, get a portable steam generator, and let'er rip!

Go back and watch the Pats game it happened almost every time Miami's offense was trying to relay the play to the QB. Illegal or not it happened. It was very obvious what they were doing.

The Pats play a loud boat horn on every 3rd down. Many teams do a similar thing on 3rd downs.

Is that during the play call like the Bills were doing?

From my memory, it was more than just 3rd down. Seemed like it was on every down.

I still don't understand how it's allowed well into the play clock. That should be something you can only hear in the first couple seconds.

Having to watch MM8 keep running to the sidelines to get the plays was pissing me off.

I recall the announcers mentioning they thought MM was having trouble with his headset. Never considered it could be from stadium/crowd noise. I don't think enough people realize what a battle it was down there last week. I could tell it was getting tough as you could see the toll being taken on the linemen. I think the effort the team put forth and coming away with a win in that environment speaks volumes that just will never be heard. The Bills literally threw ALL they had at us, and we managed to kick them in the face in the end.

One other thing that struck me about the Bills game was how upset Gase appeared to be at the end after we came back and won. I'm curious about what that was all about. Did MM take over some plays he wasn't supposed to? I recall seeing Gase and Moore having a heart to heart on the bench after MM had a badly overthrown ball on a critical 3rd down. Or was it just the environment that had him pissed off?

It was all Matt's fault. He's a cancer. Cut him. :tongue2:

I mean it couldn't possibly be that terrible situational management by Damien Williams not getting out of bounds.

This is from 2010....they have a lighthouse theme with their stadium, symbolic of the regions ties with shipping and fishing. Its actually really cool...so yeh they blow a fog horn, and it fits with their theme. Miami should come up with something of their own....

"I don't know if you could hear it on TV, but the Patriots have a cool new feature at Gillette that was unveiled Sunday: the fog horn. The lighthouse goes black except for a bright flashing strobe and a loud fog horn sounds over the P.A. They do it when the visiting team's offense is about to break the huddle. It really gets the crowd going. :rocker:"

He was pissed I believe (add this disclaimer in so that someone won't try to say I said something I did not) because the TO was called. Basically icing our own kicker in that spot.

    That's a great idea, a fake general quarters alarm, something like this;

You mean, at the very end of the game? He always reacts like that (which is to say, not at all) as far as I have noticed. I thought we might at least get a fist pump there, winning on the road in OT and going a long way towards getting a playoff berth, but no.

Hell yeah I noticed it and agree with the rest of ya'll. It's total BS. I asked Armando about it hoping he would ask the NFL about it. He didn't get back to me, so I guess it's considered normal and a non-story. It will be interesting if there will be payback. I am betting with our roof that any ship whistles we crank up when they are trying to send in the play will get their ****ing attention.
