What an absolute load of crap from a guy who is beyond being yesterdays news. The video showed he was late...then if he believed he called a timeout..why was he not screaming to the referee as the play was going on? He waited to see if the kick was good or not to decide to complain...because if the kick was NO GOOD you know Rex would take credit on the fake timeout. You are finally right Rex...let them judge you on reputation...your resume. They would then fire you tomorrow you "genius" of the defense
So good.... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...an-fails-at-icing-kicker-in-bills-vs-dolphins Caption anyone?
Great job by the TV crew setting up that split screen so quickly. Argue with that you toe sucking freek.
If you listen to his clip in the link, he said that he was verbally calling timeout for 2-3 seconds before the snap BEFORE he actually signaled it with his hands. Now, I have absolutely no idea if that's the truth or not, but the ref said that he never heard him so it doesn't matter anyway. When I've seen other coaches doing it, they're basically leaning over in the ref's ear and telling him that a timeout is coming. So even if Rex is right, it's still his mistake for assuming that someone else would do it or that the ref would hear him over the crowd from 3 feet away.
The ref was standing right next to him. Loudmouth Rex would have been heard if he wanted to be. He thought a rushed 55 yarder had as much chance of being successful as I did.
Yeah, and if we would have missed. He would have said, I didn't call a timeout. I had an itch and I was just scratching my palm. Rexy, Rexy, Rexy...
If I wanted the timeout I would have been chasing the guy down the field and screaming. He did neither. The guy brings it upon himself with all the WWE style antics. BTW another great move bringing in his brother to run the defense. I guess his resume stands on its on too
rex has no claim, but there was a bills player on the field that clearly signaled the timeout before the ball was snapped. oh well.
I think the refs are as sick as the fans of that nonsense timeout right before the kick. The ref Rex was trying to call a time out too seemed more interested in watching the kick. Also, Rex didn't get in front of the ref so he himself doesnt have much of a case.
He made his career long kick in a frenzied state of panic with 10 seconds left and the final clock running out. Icing him would have done him and us a favor if anything.
Rex is so full of it. In the video you can clearly see he isn't saying anything until he starts gesturing with his hands.
He is not actually directing it to anybody. He isn't a qb who a ref is going to look at him at all times.
Per the NFL rule book: He clearly called it a split-second after the ball was snapped...too late chimp. Now, as far as the player that was signaling timeout before the snap, the ref either didn't hear him or ignored him, but I'm not sure why another ref on the other side of the ball didn't see it...either way, it was missed, and he was certainly allowed to call a timeout. Also in the rule book: It was loud, so the ref just simply may not have heard the guy.
