Before the Jets and Dolphins met for the first time this season, Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall said Dolphins cornerback Byron Maxwell could only stop him by committing penalties and kept talking about Maxwell’s shortcomings after Miami’s victory.

Marshall is banging the same drum ahead of Saturday night’s rematch between the teams. Marshall had five catches for 46 yards in the first game while drawing a pair of pass interference flags on Maxwell and said he got something from an official who works Jets practices to make sure Maxwell’s infractions are noticed this time.

“He’s the same guy. I thought the refs did an amazing job the last time we played them,” Marshall said, via the New York Post. “I think they threw three, four, five flags, so Saturday night I will be assisting the refs and I will be carrying my own flag just in case he decides to conduct himself the same way. I will help the refs out.”

Maxwell said, via the Miami Herald, that Marshall did a lot of talking during the last game but that it didn’t affect him because he’s “out there to do a job.” Despite the penalties, Maxwell did his job well enough to keep Marshall out of the end zone and help the Dolphins to a 27-23 win.

I pray he is dumb enough to do this because It's a penalty if he does.

Brandon Marshall is the Dwight Howard of the NFL. Supremely talented, yet somehow all of his teams end up going down the tube a little after they add him.

He's salty as hell since another team he went to to help has absolutely tanked. Seems he's part of the problem those teams have no?

He should probably shut his mouth now eh?

1 catch.. 16 yards against Xavien Howard, returning from missing how many weeks with an injury? And Tony Lippett, a former WR.

How'd that flag that you were apparently carrying in your pants in the first quarter for you Marshall?

His team quit halfway through our beatdown of them, and it was beautiful.

Funny, Marshall was pretty darn quiet by the end of the game. I bet he was expecting a field day with his little friend on the sideline.

Rookie replacement shut you down, Brandon.

Forget the penalty flag and just run up the white flag.

Been saying it for years, he's the best loser ever. His career game of 22 receptions on the broncos? They lost. Comes here, obviously no playoffs. Huge numbers on the bears, no playoffs. Huge numbers on the jets, no playoffs. He's not the reason the teams don't make the playoffs, on paper anyway, but hes a loser by nature. He loses.

Best performances are typically in losses, disappears in many games, stops trying.

Enjoys failing when it matters most. Obviously it's not all on him, but he is a career loser. Loves to talk though, and last night it bit him in the ***.
Oh....btw.....I love our two young corners in Lippett and Howard. McCain isn't half bad either. That's an underrated unit.

I was disappointed that I couldn't find a post game interview. If you run your mouth the week before the game the least you can do is step up to the podium after the game and give the team that whupped your *** a little credit.

Tony Lippett caught more passes from the Jets than Marshall did.

    GG Brandon.

Not to defend Brandon, but I'd guess his QB shut him down every bit as much as any of our Cb's.

Those results sure are great though.

Not really, the throws were there most of the time. Howard was just a beast out there smothering him and swatting the ball away. It was the most impressive feat I've seen from a CB against a WR1 in quite some time.

Thot's Marshall's MO though...point fingers at everyone else and never accept personal responsibility. That's why he's hated in the league. But what the heck could he really say after that performance? He was outclassed every step of the way.
