What the **** are you talking about? our defense gave up 4+ tds and 400+ yards to some of the bottom 5 offenses in football these last few weeks. how exactly have they been carrying anybody? Tannehill has been playing some of the best football of his career this year. Better than Moore ever has. better than Doughty ever will. Thank god he put up 3 TDs so all Moore had to do was have one semi decent drive where we kicked a fg anyway.
60% completions ROFL didnt he only have like 5 passes? holy **** lay off the sauce guy its only 2 pm.
Dude, it's not even worth debating them anymore. They don't like him, and they never will. Anything bad will always be his fault, and anything good will always be because of everyone else. All that matters is that Ryan is our guy moving forward. This is his team now. He's earned it so let them rabble on about whatever helps them sleep at night.
Did you forget his INT? His fumble? His other fumble that luckly rolled out of bounds? How the defense created 4 turnovers and RT was scary close to giving 3 of them back. We won one game on a kick return, another on an INT return, 2 others with a RB running for 200 plus yards. Yes, RT has been playing better, but to say HE is the only reason is well,,, your twisted logic.
I give him credit when he plays well, always have always will. I just don't think he is God like you and some others do.
I'm surprised you haven't suggested we should go ahead and put Doughty in against the Jets, since, you know, he's better than Tannehill.
I don't think he's a God, but he deserves more credit than people want to give him. You're not the only one that wants to say it's been "all defense and running game".
Listen to Rocky. Probably one of the most sincere and right to the point posters we have...they will NEVER change their minds. The more embarrassing things they say, the more they dig their heels in. HEY dWreck, HOW ABOUT THEM DOLPHINS AND THE GREAT NEWS WE JUST GOT?!!!
The INT... was largely in part to Kenny Stills slipping on the wet field. Ryan may have also been late with it, but you have to think if Stills doesn't slip he's at least got a chance to make a play on that ball, even if as a defender. The fumble/backwards pass, was clearly weather related. There were how many of them in the game in total? Non-issue for me really. Hate to see it of course, but that happens with a wet football. The other fumble was a botched snap if I remember correctly, again, likely weather related. There were what, two or three of those in the game? You've really got to pay attention to the context of the game in which these things occur if you're going to try and objectively assign blame. I get your next point of "how" we won some of those games. Football is a team sport for a reason afterall. However, I think you should go back and look at Ryan Tannehill's stats over the last 8 games. Actually, I'll do it for you: 7-1 record. 100.1 passer rating 13 TD, 5 INT 1723 yards 67% completion percentage. Without that level of play over that stretch where those other things you mentioned occurred, we're probably not talking about those things you mentioned because they likely wouldn't have lead to that win. You can however, also make the case that those numbers are lower than they actually should have been. I'm sure there were some missed opportunities in there that could have led to a more explosive offensive performance as well. However, again if that occurred, it likely again negates the list you provided of reasons we won other than Tannehill because those plays wouldn't have been necessary. Either way, it's rather pointless because we got good QB output, good complimentary team football, and most importantly the W.
After how I felt yesterday I feel like xmas just came early brotha. Even if he doesnt come back this season its still great ****ing news. hell he could be playing in the playoffs if we somehow make it.
it certainly has not been all defense, but someone implied that Tannehill carried the team, when before they were spewing how it is a team game. Rather hilarious actually. The 5 yard pass to Landry that turned into a 70 yarder. Was that a great pass by Tannehill or a great play by Landry?
I responded to your post saying you don't think Tannehill is God like some others do. I'm not even talking about Matt Moore. You go out of your way to bash Tannehill, and went as far as to say Doughty was "already better than him". Saying you don't think Tannehill is God is the understatement of the year.... you clearly do not like him.
stills slipped but he was also lazy at the top of his route that's a box out sticks stop route where the wr needs to come back to the qb and ball vs that coverage and leverage forcing the db to go thru the wr to the ball 3rd and 13 run it to 15 come back to 13
people always want to say because this happened it is ok this happened. The defense stunk, so it is ok the offense stunk too. The other team turned the ball over ,so it is ok we did too..... I don't really follow that cause and affect logic people want to use. Who led the game winning drive the last game? and why does it appear bad that he did by some on here?
Never implied he carried the team himself, I implied the team would need to carry Moore a HELLUVA lot more for painfully obvious reasons.
Sensational play by Landry, but has anyone said otherwise? The problem in my eyes is people refusing to give Ryan the credit he deserves when he's earned it. That's not to say he hasn't had help, because he has, but let's not act like he hasn't improved or been a big part of winning these games either.
I think we'll be fine with Moore for a few weeks. I'm also ecstatic about Tannehill not having a torn ACL. We won yesterday against a team the majority of the universe assumed we would lose to. We are also right in the mix to make the playoffs. I'm pretty effing happy right now all things considered. -No Reshad Jones -Injured O line -No Pouncey -Injuries all along our defense, now Tannehill. Yet...we sit at 8-5 with a more than awesome chance at making the postseason and all some of you can do is bicker about the quarterback position. SMDH, we have a huge game on Saturday in New York. Lets stomp the green guts right of them and keep it rolling. Oh...and Gase.....should be in consideration for COTY.
Even Tannehills biggest homers and fans here, myself included point out when he sucks. No one on this board proclaims him to be god or anywhere close to it. THe terms commonly used are 'good' 'solid' 'top10' etc. Knowing for a fact that Moore and Doughty dont hold a candle to Tannehill is hardly calling him a god. Moore is a career backup for a reason and Barring some catastrophic injury issues Doughty wont ever even start for a team in the nfl
Even though you said defensive injuries I dont think that does it justice... Jones... Howard.. ALL of our linebackers.. its been a massacre this year man. If he makes playoffs I think hes a lock for CoTY with Tanny going down.
need kiko back at least vs buffalo to have a chance cause that team will murder our depth lb playing with all the looks they run out of and we have lbs that take serious strong side bait and misdirection that 50 yard reverse td was a direct result of poor athleticism at lb...that ball went by hull no problem...there's much more where that came from...he's also overaggressive and worse missing tackles when he is even. on that reverse the lb has to meet that ball horizontally otherwise once they gain that corner it's pay dirt vs that level speed once everyone else takes the bait a "good play" from mike hull is a 5 yard gain also the only way you get away with paysinger in the nickel is if the dline murders the oppositions o line...worked vs zona well that and the elements worked for us but buffalos tackle play is a lot better not to mention the qbs legs threat (which murders us it seems every time we play one)
I wonder if they will take a lot of the protections verifications away from matt moore also and put them on steen (whose play hasn't been good enough on the pivot lately)
Well, I'm not saying it's ok that we mishandled the ball too. The point is, that's the conditions we played the game in. It clearly effected both teams. It doesn't make it ok, but it makes it logical to expect us to have those issues as well. You just can't help that sometimes. Let's look at that last drive... but prior to it, lets remember the DEFENSE getting us back the ball with some excellent play, after some atrocious play that let Arizona back into the game prompting the need for this game winning drive. - We get a HUGE punt return by Landry. 20 yards to put us in excellent field position. (What a shame that special teams helped us out here, because when we returned one to win a game, we held that against the offense under your logic) - 1st and 10 - 5 yard run - 2nd and 5 - 12 yard pass to Stills. Down to the 30 yard line. Essentially FG range, although, with the weather maybe not. 1st and 10 - The 29 yarder to Stills. It's a heck of a play by Moore to even get the ball off as he gets crushed. That ball is underthrown. Stills makes a great adjustment and comes down with it. Because, if it's Ryan Tannehill throwing that ball, the criticism that it's underthrow is 110% there. But, because it's Matt Moore, it's he threw it up only a place Stills could get it. It looks to me that it's underthrown because he's getting drilled though. Moore see's the man coverage and Stills has a step on his man to the endzone. If he leads him like you'd want, it's a TD, but it's underthrown IMO, and likely because of the hit preventing him from stepping into it. Either way, the result is positive. But, see how we can spin that both ways? That looks an awful lot like so many plays that Tannehill has been subjected to under a battered OL. Difference here is Kenny Stills makes the adjustment, and the catch. It's pretty obvious when you watch it. That's the game. So essentially, he made 2 plays, after a great punt return that really set it up. So, yes, credit to Matt Moore. But, do you at least see the other things that happened on this drive and prior to it that lead to that success? Those same types of things you wanted to discount from Tannehill for victories earlier in the season. Again, if you're being objective about it, the other aspects are all at play here, and you can interpret the Stills play any way you want to fit the point you're trying to make, but if you go and watch the replay, Stills is clearly running to the endzone, and adjusts when he sees the ball is underthrown. I got to give you credit, for someone who doesn't like Tannehill, you get knocked down a lot, but keep getting back up and trying.
Anyway you see us being better right now with Hull in the middle and moving Kiko outside?..is it too late in the season? Sounds like you are not a big Hull fan.
I wonder what the final score would have been, had Tannehill not got hurt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Sorry theres just no defending Moore.. that was an ill advised throw he made that got lucky to land on stills hands...
