Dolphins defensive tackle Leon Orr was arrested Tuesday on charges of possessing marijuana and a controlled substance, and on Wednesday Orr was released. Dolphins Coach Adam Gase told reporters the team found out about the arrest during practice Wednesday and released Orr immediately. Orr faces a misdemeanor marijuana charge and a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. Orr posted a $7,000 bond according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, which pulled Orr over on Interstate 75 for illegally tinted windows. Substances that later tested positive for marijuana and THC were found in Orr’s backpack, according to the police report. Orr, 24, made the Raiders as an undrafted rookie last year and played in three games. Orr was cut by the Raiders in September and first joined the Dolphins on the practice squad. He played in five games for the Dolphins but was inactive last week.
Look up marijuana dabbing/dabs. Its a liquid form of marijuana that has higher concentrates of THC that is usually vaporized. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
Gase said something along the lines that if you can't make the team your number 1 priority during the season we'll find someone else who can. The off season is a different situation.
I'm not saying Dion should be cut simply because of drug issues. It's not enough that this dude Orr gets arrested for some nonsense, we should also take away the guy's means of making a living too; that'll show him. Unless we're simply making an example out of a less-talented guy's misplaced priorities. I didn't see anything about gun charges. Do we know if the weapon was registered?
He's not being blackballed, he got cut from the team. How are they taking away his means of making a living?
By firing someone, you take away their means of making a living. Whether or not they actually land another job, that's what you are doing at the time.
Actions have consequences. I teach my kid that all the time. He did something he wasn't supposed to do. Got caught. And got fired. Many people get fired because they're arrested for drugs.
Here is an idea then - don't do bad things! Or don't get caught! No sympathy for the guy, he knows what is at risk, they all do, and like an idiot he drives around with drugs and a gun in his car, good riddance. But hopefully he learns from this and gets his **** together.
Voting for the ladder probably means you should lay off the marijuana trav... lol I think the word you're looking for is later.
Fair enough. The employer has no obligation to keep someone employed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
****... Leave it to me to make a typo when correcting someone. I honestly did mean to use 2 t's, I was rushing to post though because a co-worker was standing at my office door wanting me to actually work. But whatever, thanks jerks
Gase specifically said in his presser that it was about making the team your number 1 priority during the season. He was very vague about what would have happened f this was in the off season
