I just want to say, I HATE 4pm games with a passion. Having to sit here all afternoon. Then, the game is usually interrupted at my house for dinner... UGH. Wife today said she was making a lasagna... instead she comes home from the store with 2 big steaks, which of course, I'll have to go BBQ. I know, I shoudlnt complain about a wife bringing me home a big ol steak... but my dish is down in the basement, the bbq is upstairs on the deck. Which therefore means... I miss a chunk of the game, no matter how hard I try and time it for halftime. Stupid 4pm games. That being said, let's kill the Rams today!!! woo!
lol Like I said, I try... but the timing always ends up off. Cooking... eating... cleaning... I just hate 4pm games. Although... if lasagna was still on the menu I'd be happy, and wouldn't have to go outside in this freezing cold start of Canadian winter weather. It was 65 degrees here on Friday, 32 last night, with wind chills in the 20's. Like, what the hell is that all about! lol
It shouldn't take you more than halftime to cook that meat..turn on the grill at a commercial break before half..get that sh$$ smoking hot..
I know that, looking at these steaks, I'm thinking 4 minutes max should get them a nice medium rare on the good ole Weber. It's actually looking like the game might be on my local Fox channel here, so I may actually get it on the TV upstairs which solves my problem. If not... I've got my tablet ready to pull up a stream to watch it upstairs, and outside. lol I'll get this under control Deej... don't you worry. lol
The problem is your unwillingness to wear a firemans mask and oxygen tank while grilling in your basement.
1) Canadian winter.. something I don't miss 2) Are you drinking adequately? Research shows steaks cook quicker when you're drinking rye.
1) It's the wind that makes it awful today. I'm about as south as you can get in Canada too though, so it could be alot worse. 2) Not yet. I do have a bottle of the Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye that I'm going to get into later though.
You must live in Windsor. Meaning there is COPIOUS rye available. But you should be drinking Seagram's since the distillery is there, or was there in 1999 when I went there, Tophat BBQ (I think) and a sketchy bar where strippers went out on their night off. Ahhh yes, Monday nights out in Windsor. I later told a friend it was the last remaining wild-west town - saloons, whiskey, gamblin' and brothel gals.
That's correct. Automotive capital of Canada... woo... lol I'm not in the city anymore though, living in a small town outside of Windsor. I'm not a Seagrams fan. Canadian Club... yes. Our wedding was actually at the Canadian Club Brand heritage building where Hiram Walker lived. There's bullet holes in the stone walls of one of the rooms we took some photo's in from Al Capone and his cronies back in the prohibition days. I actually though prefer 40 Creek Whisky, which comes from the Niagara Falls area. The Tophat was a place downtown. You might be thinking of TBQ BBQ though... The Tunnel BBQ. It was legendary. Tophat was a night club type thing, I think a restaurant too? It was gone before I was old enough to know what it really was lol. We only have about... 4 strip clubs left in the city now. Most have closed up shop. There were at one point, about 7 or 9. lol
When I lived in South Florida and the Dolphins had an away game which started at 4:00pm, we would just have our big meal for lunch and something light to eat later during or after the game. My wife knew that I wasn't going to be sitting down at the table to eat during the game and there was absolutely no way I would be grilling anything and not be able to watch the game. On Maui, 4:00pm games start at 11:00am here. So the game doesn't interfere with dinner at all.
Yeah, I ate at Tunnel, met exotic dancers (there are so many there) at Tophat. Super classy place, as the name would imply. I'll look out for 40 Creek! I was more a Gentleman Jack's guy, but when going in for Cdn whiskey I preferred Crown Royal. Have some here actually, velevet bag version. My wingman from my 20's brought it down when he visited me from his homeland of Mississauga. lol. Cool info re: Al Copone!
Hope Ryan responds to be called out by his coaches for not pulling the ball down and running...we're gonna need him to make individual plays like this...waiting for things to open by the script ain't gonna be a reality..
To be fair to him, they've only closed up in the last 5-8 years. Judging by the places he's named, I'd be thinking he was around these parts 25 or so years ago
Let's go Miami! Prove this team is different from the past, where you would drop a game like this. I cannot remember the last time we had a 5 game winning streak.
