Because I believe that it will be very difficult to trade down, we may not get full value for our pick. I would do this: Trade down our #1 overall to Atlanta for their #3 overall, their third round pick, and Deangelo Hall. We would get our shut down corner. We would also be able to get our pick of whoever is left over - Dorsey, Chris Long, or Gholston. I would really like Gholston along with a trade of Jason Taylor for a low 1st rd pick or 2nd & 3rd. I don't want Jake Long because I don't think he's a true LT. We need at true LT with a high ceiling with our 2nd rd pk if one is worth picking there. We then can move Carey back to RT. Thoughts?
I agree, that is not a trade Atlanta will make. If they did, I'd try to sell them the Tower of London and The Bay Bridge in Oakland
DHall doesn't want to play for a loser, he has said he is sick of losing and wants to be traded to a winner.
I wish ATL would be dumb enough to do this trade. I was hoping we would get Hall sometime this off season. We will wait and see
i would love this trade but ATL isn't that dumb. i believe ATL will take Ryan and he will be there at the 3rd pick.
Yea, I mean this would be a stupid trade for the Falcons I mean more than likely we may have to give them something back if they gave us #3 overall and Deangello Hall . . . that is like 2 top 10 picks. Its more believeable if u said #1, the Chargers 2nd round pick . . . for #3 and Hall (Hall was like #6 overall just 3 years ago, and has made a Pro Bowl I think)
If the Dolphins make this trade are we getting value for the #1 pick. I don't want D'angelo Hall on this team.
the falcons wouldnt do it and i think hall has declined a little this year...he never got along with petrino and i think his play was affected
I don't think there is any way that their owner is going to be making any deals with the Tuna on next year's draft or any drafts in the next 5 years.
The falcons don't need to make a stupid trade like that...they're gonna get pretty much any QB they want right where they're at. Ozzy rules!!
Not happening unless Hall gets arrested in the off season. Absent that, great deal if the Falcons new GM is dumb enough to do it.
Not if Parcells can counsel him. I mean Hall's only going off like he is because Atlanta isn' going anywhere near the playoffs within the next 5 years. The misconception is that Parcells is this short-fused, cranky old man who thinks that if someone's a jackass somewhere else, there's no hope for him and he'll just be a jackass on whatever team Parcell is coaching/managing. If Parcells is such an A list front office personel, and he's got everyone's trust that he'll do the right thing, then why is there no hope that Parcells can talk Hall into buying into his plan? Btw, the Falcon's GM would have to have had 10 shots of Moonshine before he made that deal.
Hall sucks anyway. He is a Michael Vick supporting piece of crap. I would be disgusted if the Dolphins picked up this piece of crap.
why would they trade 2 spots up and give us Hall they would want more then just our First round if we get D. Hall to
As far as I understand, Hall has become a cancer, but there seems to be some mitigating circumstances. Being he seems to be a problem child, I believe his value if traded straight up would be a 2nd rd pk, not a first. This trade scenario is based on the Falcons believing they have to draft a player with the 1st overall. If someone can help me with the draft chart, I know there is a fairly high amount of points between the first and third pick. So, I was looking at a 2nd & 3rd picks for the opportunity to jump from the 3rd to 1st overall pick. How does that look according to the draft chart?
Wow that would be a very nice trade for you all, in Spite of Halls issues. But that is dreaming and will never happen, I do not see you trading out of the pick WHY there will be 31 other GMs that understand that because of the money involved the number 1 overall has to be a cant miss big time player. I do not really see any cant miss big time players in this years draft that TRUELT warrent a trade up to get the 1st overall pick
While I agree that the proposed trade would be a daft move for the Falcons, I wouldn't bet my money on them getting the QB they want right there. Both Kansas City and Baltimore could very well be in the running for Ryan and - provided they fall in love with him which only time will tell - could be interested in jumping ahead and grabbing him. I also wouldn't be the least surprised to see the Pats stun everyone and trade up to get Ryan. This is what figures to be their highest draft choice in the next five years and Ryan would make an excellent backup to take over for Brady in three or four years. I don't think that the Falcons are likely candidates to trade up (new FOs generally don't like to do that) but the Chiefs or Ravens FO could be desperate enough to do so. Both figure to be on the hotseat next season and both could try to buy themselves more time with a rookie QB or go all or nothing with McFadden.
I will assume you haven't read my rationale a couple of posts earlier. Because maybe you couldn't find it, I'll cut and paste it for you: "As far as I understand, Hall has become a cancer, but there seems to be some mitigating circumstances. Being he seems to be a problem child, I believe his value if traded straight up would be a 2nd rd pk, not a first. This trade scenario is based on the Falcons believing they have to draft a player with the 1st overall. Now if you have a non-antagonistic response that includes some thought, I would be more than willing to discuss it.
General Tso said "Obvious why Miami would love to make that deal, but why on earth would Atlanta?" As far as I understand, Atlanta wants to get rid of Hall. I read something in the last week (PFT?) saying that they may be auditioning him as trade bait during the season. Again, I don't believe his value will be a 1st rd pick due to the problems they have had with him this year. Of course, this whole thing hinges in if the Falcons believe they need the #1 overall pick to get the player they want. If they do want the pick, Miami needs a corner and Atlanta wants to get rid of a good one. Do you think that this would be fair? 1st overall for D. Hall & 3rd overall pk? I am not willing to give up anything more than a 6th if it has to be sweetenned. Hopefully, Atlanta will win Sunday and move back further in the draft. I wish someone would post the draft chart for a reference point. Boomer?
Not, a bad trade. However, I disagree with you on Jake Long. He will help solidify any OL he becomes a member of. We could move Carey back to RT. Then all we need is a RG and good backups. Long, new RG, Satele, Hadnot, Carey - I like that line a lot.
Wow......I've called statements on here ignorant before, but this one takes the cake. Congratulations.
Hall, as good as he can be, is not Parcell's or Camuller's type player (should they survive the purge ). This trade sounds great to me but there's no way BP goes for a mouthy idiot like Hall.
