On reflection, whilst amusing, if he were my kid I'd probably have had him apologise and sit his butt down. Humble in victory. Gracious in defeat. Kid needs to learn some manners.
Possibly, or else he's just doing what he sees others/daddy doing? Or he has no clue and is just excited about the Dolphins?
A couple of years ago, I took my son down for the Baltimore/Miami game, him being a Ravens fan, he had his Ravens Jersey on. We were walking around the different tailgate sections and a little kid was booing my son. We both laughed about it and carried on. Got to another section, and a man in his 20's or 30's was actually dropping F-Bombs at my son and getting in his face. I am disgusted by some of the fans. No bearing on the little kid, just wanted to share. I am a huge Dolphins fan, but I will never go on full attack on someone because he/she likes the other team.
I really feel bad that someone allows their kid to do this. It shows alot of self-confidence in the man to not react (hope he didn't) I would have made my son apologize and teach him to be gracious in a win. I get it hes a kid but I remember when I was at a Flyers game one time and some little girl right behind us was non stop heckling Ron Hextall and the fans saying you all wasted money coming to see this team HAHAHA we own you etc. Our entire row wanted to beat her and her dads *** for allowing her to continue nonstop.
Without context it's impossible to know if the kid was being obnoxious to a stranger. Maybe they all came together and had been teasing each other all along.
I agree. Except its Buffalo. I've had the pleasure (displeasure actually) of watching several losses at Ralph Wilson. Couldn't help but smile at this photo.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok..no I dont...bad child, bad child, learn your manners..... Fist bumps Phins new mascot! For all we know it was the kids Uncle....he certainly didnt seem to be upset by the kid.
I can remember my dad getting like ten tickets for the UM/Boston College Championship (the Hail Flutie game) and there were 3 of us kids doing the exact same thing to a guy sitting behind us. We had three rows on the end with 4, 3, and 3 seats...us kids were somehow in the back 3. And this guy would scream and dance whenever BC had a decent play, sort of making fun of us and just generally being an ***. So every time Miami scored, we turned around and taunted him right back. Then BC started coming back and this guy exploded with emotion; screaming at the top of his lungs at us and everyone around. If I remember right, the Canes took the lead back with less than a minute to go, and the guy behind us was clearly getting angry at us dancing around. I mean, we were a pack of 8-10 year olds just being complete obnoxious jerks; the guy definitely didn't deserve it from us since he couldn't really fight back...even though he started it. So we're in his face just being stupid and he finally loses it- he grabs me by my shirt and tells me to sit down and shut up. Before we could even react though, fans were grabbing the guy and security was coming from everywhere. They were leading the guy out in handcuffs when Flutie launched that beautiful desperation pass, and I don't ever think I'll forget the way he was screaming at our whole section in celebration. It was probably the best moment of that poor dude's life and I've always wondered if he went to jail that day. I really miss the Orange Bowl though- what a stadium! The games there were always special because of the energy and intensity in the stadium.
Sure, celebrate the violence on the field, but chastise the children's parents for possibly being offensive in the cutest possible way... Aaron Williams had a mouth full of blood and Goodwin lay unconscious on the field, but the 5 year old crossed the line?
As someone who has visited a lot of away stadiums over the years, mostly Ralph Wilson, I'll say there's nothing funny about crap like that. If it's just a quick funny photo and the guy was being a good sport about it, great. But if the kid was bothering him all day with stuff like that and the parents let it happen, then shame on them. The look on the fans face says might be more of the latter. It puts the fan in an impossible situation to where he has to just hope parents do the right thing. Stuff like this is why I don't go to games much anymore. Impossible to just sit and enjoy the game without being bothered, even if I go out of my way to not call attention to myself as an opposing fan.
To the victor...... Seriously though, who knows if the guy was jabbering all day. I remember being at a Jets game and these 2 girls were in my ear all day. When the Phins went ahead I was right in their face.
If I were the fan being tormented, I'd have just stood up the entire game and done my best to ignore the kid. I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old, and there's absolutely no way that I'd have let them do that for a second.
Suppose it had been the Jets. Would it be a little bit more OK then? Come on. In your heart of hearts... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Though I've never been a parent myself, I would assume full responsibility for whatever my child does, whatever annoyance he might inflict upon rival fan, Dolfan, or any fan and quickly reign him in. That said, It would seem to me arguably premature that such a young child would be doing this with any developed sense of competitive disrespect , despite the obvious humor it portrays. Perhaps its been too long since I was that age, but I find it tough to believe this child would perpetrate, the kind of despicable act it suggests....at least not for a few more years yet.
